Soul Calibur Thread

Soul Calibur 6 when

never probably

what's up with all the sc threads lately

is it just one guy spamming

With a mixture of both soul calibur 3 and 5 customization
And retcon soul calibur 5 and some of 4

You won't see me complaining about actual vidya threads.

The legend died.

So we need vidya threads or would to prefer Stupid shit like the Wolfenstien games.

Pyrrha was the best part of SC5 desu

Probably just one guy spamming but with the same dozen or so people making 50+ posts bitching about CaS killing SC while also saying 5 was the best one ever

Please happen

You fucking retard

>wow why are people talking about video games in a video game board?

I would love nothing more than for SC6 to happen.
I understand that bamco has Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball FIghterZ is on the way, so I feel like they think they have enough fighting games out, but I also think as much as Tekken and SC are alike they feel totally different. I don't like Tekken, its fine, but not my thing, SC is my favorite fighting series ever. SFV is kind of a mess. Please bamco make SC6 and ring us into a new fighting golden age. They could literally corner the fighting genre.

Thrill Kill rapes all those games. Fuck outta my face.

if I wanted a party game I'd play smash.

I'll rape your soul.

It'll probably be announced next year once Tekken dies down a bit. SC6 wouldn't really be direct competition with Dragonball Fighterz.

tomorrow

I always thought SC had the most potential casual appeal.

Just make the mechanics at least as good as SC5 and give the casuals some long desired quest character and an bunch a single player features to distract them and you will dominate.

I like the older SC games because you could get all sorts of cool hidden fighters. Even unfinished ones.

SC is the best series for hidden/unused characters.

I figured, but I still have my doubts since bamco shows blatant favoritism Tekken. If I remember correctly, SC has sold overall better than Tekken right? But bamco still shoves it in our face.

I hate that I live in the timeline where Tekken shit is still popular and Soul Caliber is dead. Fuck this gay earth.

I'm not sure if a new one would be what we want it to be

Everyone in SCV looked weird because they were all preset clothes or faces for the character creator.

why do we have threads?

to suffer?

No, Tekken is the highest selling fighting game series of all time. SCV did sell more than Tekken 7 has so far, though, last I checked. The thing about SoulCalibur is it fucking sells itself. SCV was made on a ghetto budget with 8 months to do it and no advertisement to speak of. I am actually a competitive player, and we have pretty good reason to suspect that SC6 will be announced soon. Bamco has a pretty good relationship with out European players and they share a lot of things with them. Always gotta take stuff like that with a grain of salt, but it's probably true.

user, your daddy and older sister need to have a word with you.

Good to know. thanks buddy.

I hate not being Ivy's slave.

Disgusting manface

I haven't been in any of the others, and CaS is fucking great

But SCV is unquestionably the best one in the series

Because she doesn't have a sharp pointy chin? Beta cur detected.

Amy is best soul calibur y/y

SC6 is definitely coming, they've been teasing it forever with shit like the character popularity poll etc. It's just that SC is Namco's redheaded stepchild and Tekken is their baby so they don't want SC to take a single dollar away from Tekken. Once Tekken DLC is over, we'll hear about it.

SC's own producer doesn't give a fuck about it; Harada literally went around telling people to play Tekken onstead when he was supposed to be advertising SC. They cancelled already announced SCV DLC (Raph's hat, etc.) because TTT2 was coming out. It's made me pretty bitter toward Tekken, honestly.

She has the jawline of a box

N, it's Hilda

Are Tekken and SC even made by the same team? Isn't Project Soul a thing?

Project Soul was allocated to working on Tekken around the time Daishi left.

>tfw you'll never get to show pyrrha your filthy soul

>tfw nobody cares about soul calibur
>not project soul
>not the directors
>not even the creators
>the SC anniversary FB event bullshit amounted to nothing

It's dead..

>SCV outselling T7

sources user. T7 has already sold over 2m copies.

I never realized how much I loved to play Maxi until I tried him in SC2.
Nigga is fun as fuck.

This. What is Project Soul even doing right now?

I know, so did SCV. I said last I checked because it was close and T7 may have moved past it now.

Probably not anytime soon, if at all. Fighting games are not as popular as they once were. Namco already has Tekken to fill the 3D fighting market.

>What is Project Soul even doing right now?
Tekken.

My fucking nigger

Wind!

Tekken is a more tightly designed fighter than Soulcalibur with more consistent game quality throughout the years whereas SC was the victim of bad decision making and constantly changing developers. Don't take your asspain out on Tekken just because SC had idiotic developers.

s-stop saying it's dead, SC is one of my favorite series, I've been playing since Soul Blade/Edge

I know it's dead.

Daishi absolutely cares about SC, he's just not with Namco anymore.

I play both, and that is not really accurate. Tekken isn't so much "tightly designed" as it simply never fucking changes. Say what you want about calibur, they try things and it never gets stale as a result. Tekken has largely been the exact same thing for the better part of a decade with Tekken 7 taking the largest leap which is just them taking supers from soul calibur lel

Man i like Tekken and I'm currently playing T7 competitively but it is absolutely not as tightly designed as SCV. SC has had games that were a huge fucking mess in the past, but between the most recent iterations Tekken is much messier.

I always picked Talim in SCII. 10 year old me thought it was hilarious to use an 80 lb, 15 year old girl with arm daggers to beat giant demons wielding 7 foot swords.

Le hundred stances man
He's hot.

For you to say that "Tekken never changes" means that you just don't play Tekken or don't really understand it as well as you think you do. Tekken remains pretty consistent mechanically but there are still major changes from game to game.

The removal of bound alone earns Tekken 7 points for me. I enjoy the series from a game to game basis but bound was by far my least favorite addition to the series. I do think that SCV is the best SC though, a lot of people don't because I really don't think that most people that enjoy SC really give a fuck about fighting games in general and just enjoy SC on a more relaxed basis.

When will Bangoo show up?

I do think T7 is the best Tekken has ever been, but unlike SCV it choses to leave a whole bunch of clunky shit in just based on legacy, which is annoying to me. It's not bad by any means, but it does feel a lot less polished than it could be.

Dude, I didn't even have to learn anything from tag 2 to Tekken 7. In like 2 minutes I was playing the same game again except now I did a screw instead of a bound. Real riveting changes. I'd say I'm probably better than you and you'd be right to guess that I actually hardly play the game, unless you're somehow speedkicks or some shit, in which case you're still wrong lel. I've got like 200 hours in T7 and it probably won't go much farther than that.

>In like 2 minutes I was playing the same game again except now I did a screw instead of a bound. Real riveting changes

Yeah hurray for having to relearn combos. Doesn't really change the game much but more work.

Is there some bug that prevents me from unlocking Assassin in Soul Calibur II HD Online? I have beaten stage 2 of sub-chapter 3 like the guides tell me, several times too.

After playing T7 and gave up on having it be my secondary go to fighting game. There is nothing I want more than a new Soul Calibur. Either a reboot and go back to the roots of a more polished up SC2 or fix the wack shit about SCV. Either way just give me back my Soul Calibur and for once not make Raphael shit tier.

Me and a few friends are literally playing Soul Calibur for Dreamcast right now. What a weird coincidence.

No clue, but I hope when it does resurface that they BS some way to put in a full roster of the old characters. It sucked having a bastardized version of Kilik, no Talim, Cassandra, Taki, Sophita, Yung-Seung, Seung Mina, Zazamel, Amy, or Dampierre (though he was an unlockable style).

I'm also kind of on the fence with the "magic" weapons like Z.W.E.I.'s werewolf stand or a literal magic crystal ball. I like experimenting with interesting new styles, but it feels like Soul Calibur should be centered around more or less traditional weapons. Admittedly I might just be blinded by nostalgia goggles, since Nightmare, Cervantes, Ivy, Taki, and plenty of others have had magic-ish techniques since the beginning.

Griping aside, I would hope that they take their time and hold off on the next Soul Calibur until they can put out a well polished product, like they did with Tekken.

>well polished product like Tekken
Tekken 7 barely has any content and online is a buggy mess that gets worse with each patch. There is even no tutorial.
It's anything but polished product.

Tekken is "polished" in the sense that there isn't anything severely fucked up about the gameplay and the balance is good - however that isn't much of an accomplishment when the game is 99% the same old shit as few previous Tekken titles and also when the content is lacking like you said.

The series was seriously wounded, but the soul still burns.

It was a fucking sin for them to invent a bunch of child characters but leave out Bangoo.

Monday in the PGW

>7 new announcements for ps4 and psvr
I mean if it is Soul Calibur it would make sense especially since SC is popular with the frenchies, but at the same time I feel that's something they would hold over for PSX. I have a feeling it'll be shovel ware

My sister? A malfested?

SCV was a fun game but the mechanics were broken as fuck.

What are you talking about? SCV had the best mechanics of them all, the only things broken about this game were ZWEI (extremely underpowered) and Viola (OP).

...

a few good system changes would be that I agree with is

getting hit while moving are no longer counter attacks

and maybe high/low guard impacts being a thing as well as full body GI

highlow GI would be half as much as a full body

Wish they would bring Necrid back.
>Played Soul Calibur 2 on Gamecube
>Went over to my friend's house to play it on PS2
>Would go up to EB Games and play the Xbox version on the display

2002 was a great time to be alive and a kid.

Is this fucking Oblivion?

yes its a mod

I HAD LOTS OF FUN WITH IT

Name One(1) other character that should be in SC 6 besides pic related

We already have two guys with ultra greatswords. We don't need more.

>He doesnt want Greatswords plus armcannons

>mfw people like Tekken more than Soul Calibur despite Soul Calibur having an actual neutral game

>Soul Calibur 6 when
hopefully never
also the 360 port of the first soulcalibur was terrible

here is a better recommendation

Garland and some jojo characters

I always thought this was the inspiration for nightmare. At least, until his stomach turned into a portal or something

>I feel that's something they would hold over for PSX
They can´t shovel anything for PSX, I can see things like DMC5 happening in PSX but PGW needs to have interesting announcements too. Plus namco doesn´t give a fuck about SC so they can show it there.

>Viola (OP).
>friend is better at fightan gems than me
>Figure out how2ball before he does

And on that day, there was much butthurt had.

Nightmare visually takes influence from the God Hand and Idea of Evil

I meant they can´t shovel everything

>inb4 both DMC5 and SC6 are announced at PGW
>but it's mere teasers that give zero information on the games
>first trailers and actual information are actually going to be revealed at PSX
At least that's how I imagine this could happen.

Are you insane? You just described SCIII, not SCV. Is this b8? SCV is legitimately the LEAST wonk of the series.

Ask McFarlane

>Actual neutral game
>All Koreans do is footsies at the start

He's too busy beating neglecting Spawn and making those terrible statues that pass as "action figures."

I'd say Tekken's almost nothing BUT neutral game. Top level Tekken is nothing but non-stop KBDs until someone fucks up, then once you land a hit you slap out your muscle-memory 11-hit combo.

That's not 100% true because of wall carry, but I'd say that, for example, going for Oki over damage is something not very often done in Tekken compared to SC.

>new Spawn cartoon/anime series never

I'm a casual who plays single player only on fighters.
What was wrong with SCIII? I'm replaying it on emulator for the first time in 10 years and having a blast. Chronicles of the sword is an interesting idea and I never understood the hate for it.

>When she sees your dick.png

CotS is hella fun, CaS is hella fun, cast is nice and huge

But the game is buggy as hell. Variable Cancel gives half the cast effective infinites and in general things are not consistent and don't always work like they're supposed to.

There's also a glitch in CotS that will BRICK YOUR ENTIRE FUCKING MEMORY CARD.

>footsies is rapidly dashing around way outside of max range of either character because throwing the first normal is objectively the worst decision

yeah...naw. Tekken is 100% frametraps, neutral is a joke.

>spacing = neutral game
Nope.

There's simply not enough ways to engage the opponent outside the range of your normals. The game is fun, don't get me wrong I'm not shitting on it. But the neutral is a jooooke. UMvC3 has a stronger neutral game and that game you're EXPECTED to have ToDs with every character.

>I'm a casual who plays single player only on fighters
Then you won't understand any of the hate for SCIII
