Buy a Switch famalam

I actually wanted to upgrade earlier this year but got a Switch instead
I love it

Why would you need to upgrade pc? Last time I even touched a single part of my PC was like 4 years ago and it's still doing pretty well.

It's always a waiting game.

they will only get more expensive, ram in particular
enjoy the ride user

Every year I replace the oldest main part.
So I stay upgraded without it breaking my checking.

That costs a lot of money too.

>want to upgrade PC
>no games worth playing

wait until the price drops due to the global ban on cryptocurrency, brah

Obviously his pc is older.

>16GB DDR3 2133MHz G.Skill Snipers could be acquired for $70 before

>DDR3 is out of production and supply is dwindling therefore expensive, plus you can't use it in new builds
>DDR4 is still brand new + secret corporate trusts + apple bullshit going on

>16GB DDR4 even at 2133MHz is $140 at the absolute cheapest

Go back to collecting your 1-ups, toddler.

>16GB DDR4 even at 2133MHz is $140
Why are you acting like this is a bad price? It's a normal amount for that much memory at that speed. DDR3 price has been dropping for years, but back when it was the best thing around the price was comparable to DDR4 now.

Is that cheap g4620 good enough for playing new games? I am guessing not? I just want to play near a tomato senpai.

It's "good enough", but you'll see it underperforming in several new games that use more than 4 threads. Amount of those games is likely to go up in the future.

>tfw still on DDR2

Also
>SATA SSDs going out of production means we'll never see those $110 for 500gb 850 EVOs again
>SATA prices going up because no supply
>M.2 and PCIe are too new so inflated prices + apple bullshit raising prices

>Cryptocurrency booming again
>AMD cards sold out everywhere all the time
>Nvidia has no competition as a result so prices are high

>New gen motherboards only come in the Z chipset and at inflated prices of $140 for cheap ones when it used to be $105 or so

>PSU prices up in general. No more good sales on EVGA products
>Even piece of shit Corsair CX series is up in price probably due to them being acquired by another company

Well. Here's a photo of a sexually attractive woman to cheer you up at least

Thanks user, it'll do for now. Any recommendation for cheap gpu like g4620 that can play newer games like near a tomato senpai?

thanks the chinese for that.

1050ti. Don't even think of going lower than this.

>want to upgrade PC
>everything now requires win10 to function

What is this "near a tomato"?

It's a proximity farming simulator; mostly crops and not animals.

RETARD. DDR3 had rises and falls in price, but it averaged $35-$40 per 8gb stick for YEARS.

Also technology is supposed to get cheaper over time because new standard. Your 1080p display would have been $4000 many many years ago. 8GB of ANY RAM would have cost you $160 a decade ago. It's not ok for such an incremental improvement to suddenly cost twice as much. This isn't normal. These prices are inflated for a reason. Read the fucking news.

You have a short memory.

Not an argument

why not use what little brains you have and wait for thanksgiving/cyberdeals week?

the problem is you buy brazilian teir brands

Because thanksgiving is some shit that happens on the other side of the globe.

>have money to either upgrade pc or buy a new console
>there arent any modern games that interest me enough to justify the purchase
>im having much more fun with old games and emulators

I explained to you what the price was. Don't blame me for not being able to remember what the prices were like back then. You were probably so young you weren't building PCs back then. There's nothing shameful about that, but don't act like you know something when you are absolutely ignorant about it. The price of DDR3 used to be this much. The price of DDR4 will go down just like DDR3 did. It's not some fucking conspiracy.

Cyber Monday deals are the biggest pile of shit ever. You wait all year and MAYBE if you're lucky you'll find something actually useful for sale 10% off. Wow what a deal.

Laptop + ps4 and/or switch is all one needs

That doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't buying bad brands make the price go down? You're proving his point that prices are high even respectable brands are even more expensive

Incorrect.

You're fucking dense. Bring up pricing history to prove your point. Burden of proof is on you to prove your outlandish claim. Don't want to? Didn't think so. Bringing up evidence would make you realize how wrong you are.

Apple is literally trying to buy almost all the memory that manufacturers can produce though. This is literally common knowledge

>2500$+ video card
wtf man I got myself radeon 9800 as a kid by saving.

then if it's to maintain status quo none of his PC parts should be expensive. All sub 100 and if that's expensive then he should just stick to shitty laptops.

extremetech.com/computing/172634-ram-prices-will-continue-to-climb-last-years-rock-bottom-prices-will-probably-never-return

Article from 2013. 2x4GB sticks of DDR 3 1600 modules at one point would run you over $120. So 16GB total would be over $240. And that cunt was crying about $140 for DDR4 running at faster speeds. Fucking retards.

120 is still less than 140. You're still wrong

4 is less than 8, you illiterate cunt.

And a GPU worth $700 back then if now worth $100 now. What's your point? The fact of the matter is the standard in price has increased. Don't forget back then those sticks were a HUGE upgrade. Now we're getting a 10% upgrade for over double the price

16 is not less than 16 though so why did the price double? ;)

You lose.

Moving goalposts. You wanted proof of my statement there it is. Point was price for top of the line memory was always going to run you at least as much as DDR4 costs now. How much you VALUE it, or whether you think it's worth it has nothing to do with the fucking statement or argument. Don't try to move the goalposts you shit eater.

2 sticks of 4GB memory = 8 GB of memory.
Guy bitched about 16GB of DDR4 costing $140. In order for the comparison to be made there needs to be 16GB of DDR3.

Still on a 4gb 770gtx which thankfully still lets me play all the games (though not on top settings), want to upgrade though but jesus.. gpu prices are just not coming down again.

And obviously if I get a 1080 or whatever now I'll also need a new cpu to go with it and a new motherboard and then I also want new RAM

I took a look at part prices and I swear I don't remember shit being this expensive

My ATI Radeon 4600 and AMD Athlon II X2250 are still ticking on so there's no real need to upgrade just yet. People who constantly upgrade are fucking stupid, wait for milestones instead.

I wonder if the name for it will ever change, it's like the only thing you ever hear referred to as "cyber" these days.

Prices are high but they are coming down since mining difficulty keeps increasing. Cheapest 580 8GB used to be +400€ now it's 320€ here

Isn't the new shit about to roll out next year?

There is always new shit about to roll out at any point in time.

PS5 when user?

Right after the PS4 Super Pro.

Mfw got my ryzen + 580 build before local diggers jack up the price

>It's a normal amount for that much memory at that speed
Last August I bought 16GB or DDR4 at 3000MHz for $71.68 after tax.
