Anyone got any tips? I'm getting fucking wrecked and I have the feeling I'm not researching things properly
tips for the DLC or normal game?
DLC
I havent played it yet... is it good?
Details are needed OP, what's fucking you up
Multiple things, way too many soldiers are dying
the avatar project is half way and i dont know how to stop it going up
I can't handle those fucking timed missions
the avatar project is always high as fuck in the begining
you can set it back by 2 points by destroying an alien facility (in red)
or doing the skulljack thing
Ignore the avatar project for the most part.
All it does is activate a 15 day countdown till game over it goes back to normal after you complete a blacksite or some main objectives
Build Guerilla tactics school immediately so you never have to take rookies on missions so you can build a few soldiers up quickly
Take Reapers on stealth missions and use them as scouts
Mimic beacons are a free fuck up pass
Flashbangs are useful at the beginning
grenades
What kind of weapons do you have, and what kind of enemies are you facing?
Starting weapons and I'm fighting robots and the guys that looks like those tanky dudes from Mass Effect
Mutons? Yeah you should have laser weapons (or be very close to it) by the time you face mutons.
Abuse explosives and reapers, then rangers and reapers, then you at plasma tier and game won itself. If a pod looks tough then abuse remote start/claymore/heavy weapons/plasma nades or just run your ranger/templar/skirmisher in the middle of unactivated pod and abuse blade storm. Also sparks later a skill that let's them reaction fire on activated pod, bringing 2 or 3 of them into the mission assures you won't have to actually fight anything more than 2 units at any given time. Don't forget to abuse reapers.
Meh, it's alright. About as good as the base game, which is to say that it is still a few steps back from XCOM: Enemy Within. But it's fun nonetheless.
While I enjoyed 2 and its DLC, I still regularly play the previous game.
How do you get laser weapons?
Sorry, i was thinking of XCOM: EU. I meant magnetic weapons.
Really does make XCOM 2 feel really complete.
It's irritating because on the surface it doesn't look like much especially against EW but if you enjoyed XCOM 2 at all you'll probably enjoy it, get it on sale if you are on the fence
>playing for the first time
>not iron man, win 17 fights as clean as possible
>lose the game because I didn't do some shit tech research or expand in specific ways
>be glad I didn't pay for the game
WWOOWWWW.dsp
literally rush to the objectives in a dozen moves or lose, THEN the doomsday clock which fucked me over. I figured learning the system would take precedent but it's just timed jankenpon w/varying degrees of RNG.
5 overwatch waiting to fuck over the last alien in a flashy end to a successful mission? MISS/MISS/MISS/GRAZE/MISS, CAR EXPLODES KILLING 2, MIND CONTROLLED -- MISS/MISS -- TEAMKILL - uninstall
yeah i dont disagree with you
you need to know before hand that laser weapons and the armor that gives +4hp is considered midgame and that's when you start attacking blacksites, the avatar facilities, main story missions, and also you need 3 of each class so you can have some on covert missions and others can fight while others heal
i still prefer enemy unknown/within over all the quality of life improvements in xcom 2 because it was a horror game, you didn't know what you were running into
in xcom 2 there's so many scanning options, the reaper can scout ahead, you know where everythings at and just need to complete the mission
naw bro the GOAT start is lab for breakthroughs
+1 on assault rifles in the start is guaranteed 1 shots everywhere
Rushing MAG is seriously the best strategy.
>+1 on assault rifles i
what do you mean?
+1 damage from a breakthrough early game is lifechanging
though its random if you get that breakthrough or not
It's fun but the Lost sucks asshole
