EO3 is an unbalanced mess and several of its ideas (like multiple endings and seafaring) are honestly more annoying in practice than they are in theory by the virtue of how EO works.

I'd still definitely put it over EO1 and the jewfest that was EO2U at minimum, though, and it's not like the other games were so perfect that you couldn't conceivably like 3 over them. Hopefully 3 Untold is good.

It really was around when III came out that I noticed the fanbase becoming more retarded. EO threads were more common on /jp/ than on Sup Forums before III released and opened the gates for casuals to get into the series.

DMC isn't great but it is infinitely better than the shitpille that was 2.

I started with IV, and even I think III is possibly the best.

There is no universe in which Battle Network 4 is worse than Battle Network 1.
Also, while Assault Horizon is terrible, it at least has a redeeming factor in the multiplayer, which is more than we can say about Advance or the iOS games.

The debate between XIII and XV boils down to whether you consider a shit game being unfinished to be a flaw or a saving grace.
That's why XV can't be higher than II or XIII on my personal list of the FF I suffered through.

Same here, but then I played White because I liked some of the Pokemon designs and the game only having new Pokemon sounded interesting. I'm glad I played it because it was so much better than the last Pokemon game I played before it, Pearl.

All untolds are garbage. Etrian Oydssey 2 is perfectly playable, they just missed a couple of key things like FOEs not giving exp.

Come now, user, I think you're being too harsh. Untold 2 added some cool things like pitfall shenanigans in the first floor and the new force system.
I prefer 2 to Untold 2, but it wasn't all bad.

Coming off the back of EOU2 and into EO V, I can say without a doubt that untold games are trash.

They used smaller cartridges for V, I'd gladly pay 10 bucks more for better draw distance.

The Sailing was a great concept done horribly wrong. You don't give the sense of exploration of adventure and then lock it behind an arbitrary stamina system.

Sub classing always felt like a very obvious "this pairs with that" kind of mentality. The Master system actually makes me feel like they're branching into different niches.

Yeah, subclassing felt bigger since you could mix and match with everything, but the best builds were mostly abusing charge and some OP passives. I prefer the Master system's approach of branching specs kept within the context of the class.

I sincerely hope they keep the master system moving forward.

The series is over. It needs the second screen. Switching out the map with a button press or something isn't practical and having it taking up space on the same screen as the rest of the game constantly is also undesirable.

Subclassing also has the effect of making some classes (Medic, Bushi) shit and only worth it as subclasses to other classes (Arcanist, Imp/landshark)

'Expired' just means it's not available yet.
