Taking a break from mario for a bit. Let's talk about the switch.
Besides Mario, what else have you been playing recently? I got Golf Story and Picross S. Picross S is a 10/10 playing the switch while shitting game.

I like the new fire emblem and i am still playing disgea 5 off and on.
I'm looking into getting Golf Story next after Odyssey, how is it?
Golf Story is fun and is the best feeling HD Rumble on the Switch. Hitting the ball feels real good.
Really haven't played a lot of it. Bought it a few days before odyssey thinking i would have enough time to play it before mario comes out. From what I did play, I laughed quite a bit. If you liked Earthbound or Undertale, I recommend it.
DON'T FORGET TO BUY SKYRIM
Just finished FEW story mode, took 18 hours but only cleared few stages of the first History map so here is a lot to do, unlock and upgrade.
>golf story
great taste. at first I was a bit put off by the game but after the mechanics clicked it got a lot more fun. also the extensive use of HD rumble for swing intensity + great soundtrack make it a must-have
>Skryim
>on consoles
Still playing Stardew Valley, slowly getting that sweet Starfruit Wine cash. But the audio bug keeps rearing its ugly head.
Earth Atlantis sounds awesome on paper -- a side-scrolling shmup where you roam a large maze and blow up robotic sea creatures -- but it's a little harsh when bosses one-hit-kill you with difficult-to-read attacks. Ends up more frustrating than fun.
And of course, FE Warriors. Odyssey arrives next week.
My friend let borrow his switch so I could play BOTW. Currently trying to 100% it without guides.
>Currently trying to 100% it without guides.
That's totally possible if by 100% you mean shrines and bosses.
If you mean korok seeds, you should probably just give up now.
I don't think I will ever buy or play mario + rabbids and I legit find it hard to believe its a good game or a game worth playing. Outside of the fact I refuse to give money to ubishit, I don't see how rabbids can't absolutely sour your experience, even if the gameplay is good.
I want to get a Switch for Odyssey but find it hard to justify a console purchase for only one game(I already played BOTW to death on WII U). What other games are there that make the Switch a must have?
Are there other games?
>Absolutely Essential
Splatoon 2
Golf Story
Super Mario Odyssey
>Recommended If You Don't Already Have It For the Wii U / 3DS
Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Monster Hunter XX
>Recommended After You Play All the Above
Snipperclips
ARMS
>Some controversial recommendations, not necessarily good games, but there's still a good amount of people who enjoy the following games
Super Bomberman R
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Pokken Tournament DX
Fire Emblem Warriors
you can take a look at personally, splatoon 2 and golf story still don't really make it a good purchase if the only game you want to play is odyssey.
however, if you are excited for xenoblade 2 as well, I recommend getting a switch now.
Even with Breath of the wild, Odyssey, Splatoon (baby's first shooter), and Golf Story(what the fuck? Are people even excited for a fucking game about golf?), those are still just 4 games. ARMS is a rent at best and not a system seller.
Shills are out in full force today

Nowhere in my post did I suggest now is a good time to buy a Switch. In fact, in the post above yours, I implied that if you already played BotW on the Wii U, it probably isn't a good time to buy a Switch unless you're excited for Xeno 2. Its just a list of games for people who already own a switch if anything.
Splatoon 2 is essential? Just for the multiplayer or are there other incentives to play it? Might get a Switch today, but I can't be assed to yet again pay for online access on a console
so is mgsv going to be ported to this thing or not
My friends and I like to hang out on splatfest nights. Multiplayer is great besides that. In fact. ranked mode is way better than the turf war mode. Outside of multiplayer, there's the four player co-op mode Salmon Run and the single player mode. Salmon Run is a blast but gets repetitive pretty quickly. You'll pretty much see everything that mode has to offer after five or so games. Single player I've seen a lot of people hate it. I personally like it, but not as much as the original Splatoon's.
if you enjoy multiplayer shooters, you might like it.
i have a friend with a switch that only played for like 5 hours, mostly single player and a few games of turf war and salmon run. he never unlocked ranked, as far as i know. if he did, he played a game or two. before he dropped it, i remember him asking me if it got any more difficult, then went back to jumping between horizon and yakuza on his ps4. he's still jumping between titles. maybe you're like him, and you kind of just jump between stuff, and just want to buy shit. if that's you, i don't know, maybe just don't buy it.
Mario + Rabids Kingdom Battle is actually fantastic, not sure why it would be considered "controversial" in any way.
After Odyssey not much, will buy Xenoblade 2 for my younger brother, then just waiting for next years titles, maybe buy Rabbids sometime.
Buggy, stopped playing it waiting for a patch.
