Do you think your first playthrough should be done without using mods?
Do you think your first playthrough should be done without using mods?
yes
unofficial patches are fine, though
Do you expect me to sit around waiting for fucking mods to come out?
>inb4 you are a casual faggot who doesn't play anything on release
/thread
>I just love sucking corporate cock and buying games at full price
It severely depends on the game. I wouldn't use it on an RPG most of the time but I'd use it on Shadowverse for meme animations
If I hadn't played modded Skyrim in my friends house before playing vanilla I'd never buy it.
>yes goy, buy our $100 collectors edition + $35 season pass + $20 lootbox pack at launch! you don't want to be casual scum do you?
yes besides from some very minor fixes that dont affect gameplay, such as skyrim's vanilla UI holy fuck that was awful
To add something else, in some games like the DMC3 port you have to mod the game before playing so there's no option
What about games like XCOM 2 that partnered with mod makers to release with mods?
Bug fixes: Yes
Gameplay mods: No
Graphic mods: Maybe
Sex mods: I don't know
Could you repeat the question?
Unless it's a Bethesda game, in that case mod it until it crashes.
Why is vanilla considered "plain" when it's such a sophisticated flavor? On a technical level.
Only if the game needs mods to work properly eg: Bethesda games, STALKER or Vampire the Masquerade.
Vampire is the only game of those 3 that actually needs a community patch to work.
Crash fixes sure, graphics maybe if you don't like how it looks. Anything other than that probably not.
Depends on the game.
STALKER is one of those games I dont recommend playing without mods because the base game is pretty awful despite a lot of people telling you to play with mods.
Depends on whether or not you intend to ever replay it.
Personally, I never replay games, so why shouldn't my first playthrough be the best playthrough possible by using mods?
Who actually fucking invests in buying all possible add-ons or DLC (season pass) at launch? Don't be a fucking moron.
Pretty much gotta go vanilla bean on the first playthrough using nothing but patches and other fixes, and somewhere maybe halfway I'll think about graphics next.
I want to lick that ice cream
You slut.
unless mods are critical to making the game run on current hardware, yes
games are better after 6 months of patching
