where can I check how many moons did I collect in total?

Does anyone else have crazy vertical shadows appearing on walls when you’re close to them? Mine seem to stretch the entire way up the surface regardless of light source or direction.

Felt like the game was on easy mode through the story so I thought I'd 100% it without a guide (if I do it'll be the first time since 2003) but some of the moons and purple coins are ridiculously well hidden.

It would be the hat kingdom if it was larger or the ruined kingdom if it was larger. Im still deciding which kingdom I feel is the best gameplay wise. Sand kingdom or wooded maybe? Ive yet to mess about in bowser's post game, but I really really liked Bowser's kingdom.

The Robobroodal battle certainly was fun. I really loved playing as that fat little tengu that could stick to walls and fling, so it was great to see a boss battle designed around it.
It's either that or the final fight with Bowser for me. It was the first time in a while that a Bowser fight really kicked my ass a couple of times, so it felt really good when I beat him.

I'm at 337, checking out each kingdom and grabbing all the moons I can find around without excessive search.

Am I the only one who feels that the fact that each kingdom has a particular location is hinting at a sequel/DLC where you explore different parts of the same kingdoms?

I just wanted to stay in the Seaside Kingdom forever. I love the bossa nova music.

It's insane how fun it is to climb all those skyscrapers in New Donk City. On the other hand, Bowser's Kingdom makes me cum every time I go there because I love traditional asian architecture and music and good god it's just gorgeous.

That song that plays when you are escaping the moon during the final few minutes? Fuck that song. I was enjoying the hell out of this game until that song started playing, and suddenly I felt like I was in a Sonic game.

I'm not even memeing here. That shit took me completely out of the experience and made me step back, take a long hard look at myself, and realize I had just sank an entire weekend of my adult life ignoring my pregnant wife to play a children's game.

Fuck. It was the most awkward, embarrassing, and reflective experience in my recent vidya memory. Worse than when the wife watched me playing Zelda and said "How is this a modern game? It looks like Kingdom Hearts, but that's a PS2 game. Honey, I'd understand why you play video games more if you had an XBOX like everyone else and just played shooting games, but these are the same games you and I played when we were little. C'mon."

No lies, fuck that song and fuck this game. Seriously considering dropping out of games altogether to raise my family. Won't even play with my future kid. That's how much that song put everything into perspective.

It was a great game but I'm not sure if I liked it more than Galaxy, and definitely not as much as Breath of the Wild.

At this point it's quite clear that almost every classic ''enemy'' is only so if employed by bowser.

I think we should celebrate that Mario didn't rehash literally everything from the series yet again.

i see all these people complaining that it's missing shit but they don't seem to realize "odyssey" is right there in the title, shit is meant to be at least a little different, and while that aspect keeps things fresh, they still play on the old formula with new assets, which is fucking great

So there's a citizen in new donk you can see from the start point that's like jumping up and down in the corner of the actual level, but when you get close he just disappears. Is there something to this or is he just window dressing?

Also, I feel like the general world design goes downhill after Sand Kingdom. Donk is cool but feels small when you realize it's just a few streets. (It also should have had an actual DK appearance, maybe a King Kong homage where you fight then possess him?)
