yes, hate linear games

this was the best part of the game u faget

That makes me think of Beyond: Two Souls underwater diving suit moment, so fuck you for making me think of Beyond: Two Souls

Thanks for the PTSD flashback you fucking queer

That was an amazing level, fuck yourself

What game is this.

I almost quit at Manaan

Fucking boring shithole.

been thinking about replaying kotor myself lately but I dunno if it's worth it.
how'd it age in your opinion, Sup Forums?

Its really fucking glitchy.

That part really DID feel stolen

>they reuse the suit in KotOR2
>animation's fucked up and plays at 10x speed

Just replayed this. Really isn't that bad and the puzzle to shut down the mines pretty good if you ask me.

It didn't age badly but be warned user, the flawless widescreen shit works but some things literally brake if you use it.
Also make sure v sync is on and grass is off.

>walking back and forth long distances at 10% the usual speed, doing nothing

Is this the pinnacle of role-playing games?

Manaan is easily the worst planet in the game

You spend like 10 minutes down there max and what did you want them to do? Have you walk at full speed while your deep down in the depths of a giant ocean? No your in a diving suit nigger.

This was fine the part where your walking on the outside of the ship was fucking retarded and pointless.

I just played KOTOR 2 last week and I thought it held up pretty well. Can't really speak for KOTOR though, haven't played that in a while.

The eardrum-ripping voices of the selkath didnt really help it either.

I don't remember this shit at all? when and why do you go underwater in KOTOR?

>moving in the vacuum of space is the same as moving underwater at the bottom of the ocean.

Kashyyyk's worse, but you do meet Jolee there.
>Planet is almost entirely made up of straight corridors
>No sidequests of any consequence or interest
>No interesting characters aside from Jolee
>You 're stuck listening to Wookie growls for 90% of the conversations
>No cool moments aside from the Star Map

on Manaan, since the Star Map is underwater

>This was fine the part where your walking on the outside of the ship was fucking retarded and pointless.
This. It's also long as fuck.
The underwater section is literally walk 5 minutes to the second part of the station, killing sharks every 5 meters, walk 1 minute to the mining thing, 10 meters to the star map, walk 1 minute back.
I really don't understand why this is such a problem for a lot of people especially because I think the environment looks pretty nice.

thank god they made it much faster in 2.

>the environment looks pretty nice.
you can literally only see 3 feet in front of you.

Unless the draw distance is fucked for me for some reason. [/spolier]

The best way to play KOTOR is to be a good guy until you find out you're actually Revan and then become the edgelord

>if you want to be light side or not want to get banned from the city, you have to solve a math problem.

THIS kills an RPG.

This kills the combat.

[Something seems to be bothering Carth. Maybe you should speak to him and see if you can get him to open up about it.]

steam version is ass. i ran into game breaking bug while playing and had to reload my save hours back.

its Amazing how KOTOR 2 can run better than KOTOR 1 of all games.

The draw distance on the steam version bugged m8. Update kotor to 1.3
Should of bought the gog version I was in the same boat as you user.

...

>he cant solve basic algebra problems

I got it with the star wars bundle. Sucks to be me i guess.

...

you forgot force speed.

I have a bug that causes me to lose control of my character after combat and I can only move it when I click on a chest or computer panel in range. Any fix?

>master speed
>get 5 more attacks on top of flurry
Literally 1 shotting dark jedis with my 18 strength.

Turn off v-sync

>female Exile and not one of the cute ones
>wearing those stupid Adept 'robes' instead of proper robes
>not using Invisible Headgear
Was this image made specifically to trigger me?

You could just patch it.

...

REVAN UNDERSTOOD SNACKS

...

Just use the turbo cheat

Korriban was hands down the best world with Dantooine being the only one that even comes close. It's such a shame that those two worlds are pretty underwhelming in II, especially Korriban.

Even with the power transfer puzzle?

The only world that was really shit honestly was Kashyyyk. Like this user said. There really isn't much to do there other then that one wookie quest to kill mandalorians and meet jolee. It's still a decent adventure but definetly much more of a linear corridor then a semi labyrinth like environments were used to. There wasn't even a puzzle in this area just a go fuck with czerka corps and figure out a means to make em fuck off.Unless you count the star map quiz.

It could be worse.

One.

Replayed 1 a year or two back and there's literally nothing wrong with it, it was exactly like I remembered it and since I liked it when it first came out, I still liked it just as much

What about it?
Only challenging puzzle in the whole game.

NOTHING WRONG WITH ME

I completely forgot about that puzzle, but I liked all the puzzles. It's a shame II has almost no puzzles. When I think of Korriban, it's more the tomb raiding that I remember being awesome. Especially the sith ghost (?) which gives you that quiz and based on the answers he tortures a sith student or something.

How did he survive?

whats the best choice for playing kotor 1 and 2 now, version wise?

Pcgw is your friend

One.

>[Intelligence] A loan? From whomst'd've?

NOTHING WRONG WITH ME

Two.

Embunja! Urri seedon delfa.

2 did have that one math puzzle in the Sith temple thing on Dxun. I remember being stuck on it as a kid because I hadn't had high school math yet and it just kinda hurt my head.

Mucha Chaka pasa

Just play them on PC and look up some resolution and UI fixes online. The games still run and look fine. You can just get them off Steam or GOG if you want.

The only puzzle I really hated was the one on Nar Shaddaa in KOTOR 2, where you're in the warehouse as T3 and have to basically solve a text based sliding block puzzle to open a door or something.
>mfw
I don't know if I was just a retard back then but it always took me so fucking long to get past that bit.

SYSTEMS FAILING MASTER

I meant to say significantly less puzzles. There's actually a few little ones, like the logic one also on Dxun, this one and some maths shit on Onderon.

ACKNOWLEDGE-MENT!

Is it worth getting kotor on pc or should I use my old Xbox version?

That always bothered me, he didn't want to talk about it and the game basically forces you into pissing him off so he opens up. Also there's a bit where he complains about being out of the loop with the Jedi and I felt much the same way but unfortunately there was no option to agree with him and had to argue with him again.

>that part in KOTOR 2 where HK does a Carth impression

That kind of thing happened way too much in both games. It was especially frustrating when the only dialogue option of your alignment was completely fucking retarded for no reason other than the writers being lazy for that one part. Or when no matter what option you pick, they reply with the same thing in order to railroad the scene in a certain direction.

>play kotor
>linear as fuck
>no social media integration
>no online multiplayer
>no online features at all
>no downloadable content
>no achievements
So fucking boring.

Star Wars is a dumb setting, Jedi vs Sith is a black and white conflict were both sides are clearly retarded.
The best Star Wars media is all centered around characters that aren't force users and thus not restrained by that bullshit.

>tried googling "kotor meta" to know what's the current meta
Got nothing, what the heck is this game even

Replayed it for the third time a few months ago. Story has not aged well. But it is still a fun Star Wars adventure.

Looks like kotor

I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT

Tried to play it but two of my companions got fucked by the Sith tomb bug and now I can't play the game.

It's really easy on a replay once you understand what's happening.

>that one puzzle in the sith tomb on Dxun to open the chest which has two correct solutions and the game picks one to be correct at random, so the other valid solution perma-locks the chest because you got it "incorrect"
FUCK YOU

I loved Manaan, but the part in OP was fucking brutal.

>that pic
Fucking flurry, the "I win" button

...

>Kotor 2
>Peragus
>Go outside in spess suit
>see it looks identical to the manaan suit
>"Oh fuck no not again fuck me"
>Start walking
>Burst out laughing.

youtube.com/watch?v=3uLy-lYrDZU

If you like HK-47 and can remember at least two of the planets its worth it. If not, Taris is too big a hump to bother with.
Seriously fuck Taris, Peragus/Telos IV is terrible too, but at least it has the dignity to realise you don't want to much back and forth.

Sort of, Telos station is basically Taris lite.

>Had a mod where every wookie growl was replaced with someone going "growl" really sarcasitcally.
>It's completely evaporated from the internet.

Anyone else have it? It was fucking amazing.

[NOTHING IS BOTHERING CARTH]

...

>that one dungeon in Skies of Arcadia

Is this a meme? I fucking loved Taris but everyone here seems to hate it.

Can this be a stealth KOTOR II thread?

Only if you post PURE PAZAAK

>pazaak
No thanks, I prefer predictable games such as galactic economics.

Time to even the odds!

Not to mention it was also ported to linux by Aspyr

Overrated game by millenials. Games and rpgs are better now.

one

Why did both games have to have a wookie character that revolved around their life debt with only 5 voice lines that was just growling? I can understand doing it in 1 bit why twice?

it's like poetry. it rhymes.

>KOTOR 1 is overrated
Yes
>KOTOR 2 is overrated
No

Chewbacca's main thing was his life debt to Han. Zaalbar was meant to be a copy of that idea, Hanharr is meant to show how a sociopath could corrupt that idea. Zaalbar was unnecessary but I think Hanharr was great.

That underwater level was claustrophobic. It has a strange feeling unique among the levels.
