Was it actually a good game though?
I've heard the bosses were pretty poor
so how many did it actually sell?
Yes. The second best Metroid game behind Zero Mission imo.
The (few) bosses were great, there is just this one faggot who keeps posting in Metroid threads that the Diggernaught was too hard.
Somewhere around 450k - 650k world wide in its first 2 weeks.
I wonder if it managed to sell a million
Considering the game it's a remake of, the bosses were phenomenal.
They had to shoehorn in Ridley because muh fanservice.
No it actually makes sense and ties prime together to the main series.
I would have bought it if it was on switch, my 3ds is f'd up tho and I'm not buying another one
The general opinion ranges from really good to decent, so overall it's not ground-breaking but definitely a good metroid title
Prime is non-canon senpai.
Yeah they are happy they can finally shut down the series for good!
You are an idiot
No, if it had sold a million it would be in the million seller list in Nintendo last quaterly financial report. It's believed to be at about 500K.
Not him, but Prime isn't a part of the main Metroid universe.
Not as good as Super or Zero Mission but it's alright. It's too slow and it's clunky, but it isn't bad by any means.
fuck, why do people hate 2D Metroid so much?
It’s been officially stated that the Prime series takes place in between Metroid and Metroid 2
Unless it's crossed over a million during October it won't have reached 1 million yet. It and Fire Emblem: SoV both weren't on Nintendo's list for games that sold 1 million during 2017 in the financial report.
>main
Considering that it's the only one getting new games and not remakes you might as well consider it to be one.
>It's too slow and it's clunky
so you literally haven't played it
Nah, not when the Prime games look/feel/play absolutely nothing like a real Metroid game.
>senpai
Fuck off weeb
>real
nothing is canon if you go by Other M.
From the SNES Mini manual.
>"Metroid" in SR's logo isn't leaning backwards
My autism can't stand this
Sakamoto still insists on pushing kungfu Samus and some of the design decisions don't mesh with M2.
Can you post the list?
Rightly so
Wasn't a very good game though honestly. They tried too hard to make the series fresh by adding annoying gameplay gimmicks...
All the new additions were fantastic.
You can tell American pigs put the manual together, because it uses "Metroidvania" as the name for the platforming-adventure genre. Citing games that never appeared on a Nintendo console, such as Symphony of the Night and Shadow Complex. And naming a game that just came out this years as part of the resurgence.
The validity of that manual is dubious at best, as whoever put it together likely did little to no research. Likely pulling facts they read from some forum after a google search.
At least they bothered talking to actual F-Zero players for the F-Zero segment of the guide at least.
Metroid is firm all right.
>METROID ON SWITCH WHEN
They already announced that.
>Switch hardware forecast increased to 14 million
How many fucking units are they going to move on Black Friday?
Assuming they can keep up with the insane demand of Black Friday they'll probably cross 10m by that point.
Keep in mind that this 7m+ doesn't include any sales from Mario.
>You can tell American pigs put the manual together, because it uses "Metroidvania" as the name for the platforming-adventure genre
Or maybe just maybe they just chose to name it that way to better get their point across. Or because the whole metriod is in the name of that. They could possibly also be flaunting that to fluff up the series as genre defining it.
So really there a few other reason shit could be so.
>forecast increased to 14 million
Do you think that is legitimate real talk or just sleazy business talk for the sake of investors?
>firm
That's code for bad
Badly
Real talk
The previous forecast was literally the upper limit of how many they could produce, and now that production has increased, so has the forecast number. Also, Nintendo has had a policy of undershooting sales forecasts since the mid-Wii U era after failing to hit targets repeatedly.
See, only a western pig would think that it's a good idea to praise Metroid, by citing a genre name that ties it intrinsically to Castlevania.
When the term was originally conceived to distinguish Castlevania games. Actually making it a castlevania name, that was then co opted to be a general genre name.
If they were smarter about it, they would have avoided using the cringe genre name, and instead merely listed games that were inspired by Metroid. So it makes Matroid look like the top dog. While everyone else is borrowing from it.
The bosses were fantastic I don't know who you heard that from.
The game has some problems (mostly the pacing) but the boss fights themesleves are not one of them.
huh well ill be. Cause real talk i do legitimately like the portableness of the console even with the not so great battery life depending on the game. So at least i hope that some neato portable centric titles come to it with time.
>$249 MK8D bundle on black friday
would Sup Forums? assuming you guys don't already own one. black friday is why i'm waiting, and hopefully they release with
>bundle
No
SEETHING
>They already announced that.>>
A proper Metroid game, not another shitty Haloid spin off.
Glad I did my part. I missed just playing a new fucking 2D metroid. This time it even had 3d graphics.
>VII poster
my nigga. I still have mine somewhere at my parents home.
So Prime 4.
Already there as Axiom Verge
>black weeb with Kingdom Hearts poster
Not unexpected.
with a*
Still a conservative forecast imho.
Anyone else hear that? It's the sound of Sakamoto kicking himself for not putting a 2D Metroid on the DS or Wii when he had the chance.
Diggerbaught was easier than any boss from fusion though, unless you couldn't figure out how do damage his last phase I guess
I bought Echoes but not Metroid, I just want to stop using my 3DS now, it feels so old.
>wii
thank god. they probably would've fucked up by trying to add waggle support
>ds
missed opportunity. that shitty hunters nonsense was not fun to play on that little ass screen, with those terrible controls.
samus returns would've sold more copies on the ds.
So both Metroid and SoV did well, its just that the 3DS is on they way out, and the Switch is clearly Nintendo's moneymaker from now on.
I imagine Pokemon USM's sales will be similar to this as well.
>what is a word filter
But all fusion bosses are easy, except Nightmare. Literally spam missiles to win.
If you're doing a 0% run maybe
>thank god. they probably would've fucked up by trying to add waggle support
That's sort of what happened. The story gets confused, but we do know Other M ended up an odd mess of moving from a purely D-Pad centered side-scroller to the abomination it became.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
