If I loved Dead Space, will I like Resident Evil 4?
If I loved Dead Space, will I like Resident Evil 4?
you must have some cripplingly low self esteem to be asking such obvious questions
are you ok?
I know Dead Space was heavily inspired by Resident Evil, but honestly Resident Evil looks like it has aged like shit and controls look iffy. From what I've seen it doesn't seem to have that "alone dread" that Dead Space had.
Motherfucking genius right here folks
Just play the game and decide for yourself holy shit
>jump scare
>jump scare
>jump scare
>jump scare
>please jump
>please jump
>please jump
>fuck it just shoot everything you see
yes cause RE4 is a better game overall.
Only good thing in DS series that elevates the entire series to 8/10 is that circular saw weapon.
>boring boring boring
>ok jump scare
>boring boring boring
>ok i follow waypoints
>boring boring boring
>ok use THIS WEAPON
OMG BEST GAME EVER
I played Dead Space 1 & 2 when both were new and only got around to playing RE4 last year, I fucking loved it and have already replayed it twice since
Pure autism. And that comes from someone who loves both games.
The game looks pretty good on PC on modern resolutions. There's also some HD texture pack in the makings but that might take years to be completed.
Also the controls are about as good as they are in Dead Space 1.
RE4 is one of my favourite games of all time
the controls are 'outdated' but i still think it plays fine and it is one of the most well crafted games ever made
Play the Wii version of RE4 if you can.
Yeah the only difference is you can't move and shoot at the same time
can anyone give me a clue on what to do in the visual data room in REmake? I can't figure out the pass code and the powerpoint slides don't seem to give me any relevant information
Guys, I have never played RE games, so I decided to start with biohazard followed by biohazard 0. Played that first game for an hour; zombies are too strong, Jill controls like a tank, I immediately run out of ammo and health. Is it really supposed to be that hard or am I missing something?
Play classic RE games first.
yes, but its a bit dated, you can't move and shoot, you have to keep your eyes on your companion half of the game, so the feel of being isolated isn't there half of the time
but its a good game on its own
Jill is the weakling of the two characters, Chris can take more punishment. You don't need to kill every zombie you see just run by them if you can.
Dead space works way more with claustrophobia, maze like environment, jump scares and is more psychologically invested.
You couldnt replace anyone with isaac but you easily could replace leon, which kinda happens in most resis before and past it. Its way too unpersonal and the reason why it doesnt get under your skin. You are playing just another toon on glasnost mission. Dead space has way more layers of horror, even returning back to already visisted places, isolation as big factor I could go on and on.
my god
fuck this i give up /v is not a place for me anymore
fuck you
>From what I've seen it doesn't seem to have that "alone dread" that Dead Space had
RE4 is just an 3rd person action game with few eerie segments
Dead Space is a much better claustrophobic experience
I know I'm dense as a brick but at least I'm not using guides to get to where I am
tank controls are fine. They're better than the alternate controls in REmake. Just run around until you get used to it. Don't shoot zombies unless you absolutely have to.
kek no
I dont know how old are you but hallways in the spaceship are not scary anymore. You are walking the entire game trough hallways and shoot at things. Story is terrible and uninviting. You can replace Isac with any character cause he has no character. Actually RE character with established personality would actually make game a tons more fun to play.
RE4 has variety and charm. Its a better game.
>claustrophobic and isolation
ok if claustrophobia is your thin then i guess go for it.
Thanks, I engaged every zombie because I hate to explore locations under constant enemy threat, it's just stressful. Alright, time to run around.
>everything you said is wrong
>iam right
haha eat shit my man you have no idea how horror works and therefore are not the audience. Op asked if he would enjoy it, no he wouldnt because they are different games for the reasons stated. You shitty opinion can stay where it is, in the fucking basement where noone is looking for it fucking retard
help poor Jill has been standing in the room for half an hour now
Resident Evil 4 should be more compared to Dead Space 2. Very action oriented. Dead Space is genuinely unsettling for most of the game.
zombies are pretty slow so it shouldn't be stressful. If it's a big room you should easily run around and explore stuff before they get near, if it's a small room just shoot them.
Even though I love RE4 more than Dead space, Dead space is a better "horror" game. RE4 is not even a horror game, it's just a 3rd person action game that is clearly a parody of b-action movies
never mind I'm retarded
Deas Space is fucking garbage, of course you will like RE4 with such low standards
dead space franchise is awful
I am sorry i didnt realise you are autistic.
You can have you (you)
Neither game is scary nor horror. Pic related is scary as shit.
Yes DS is probably better "horror" game then RE4, But Its never scary and its atmosphere wears tin after a while. Both games are 3rd person shooters at its core but isac is more overpowered. It really comes to tastes of what you find scary. But when you compere overall game design, variety, story, replayability, RE4 is a better game.
Again i am not saying DS is a bad game. No, the DS2 is a bad game. DS is great. But Re4 has more to it then original DS
How about you insert your opinion into your asshole where it belongs, no?
>DS2 is a bad game
>Resident Evil 4 is a good game
DS > DS2 > RE4 > RE5 > DS3 > RE6
>Neither game is scary nor horror
I agree, but they both claim to be horror games.
>RE4 is a better game
This is objectively true too
>DS2 is a bad game
no
i've played it a month ago for the first time and it was great
to keep it short
>Steam version is fine now
>tank controls are fine it will take you less than an hour to get used to it
>escort isn't hard at all
>you don't spend that much time with Ashley
>only one section in the castle is tedious
also don't worry about failing, game autosaves every time you change screen and there are lot of typewriters in case you need to close the game
please dont cry cause your game is a shit you need to grow up
>I agree, but they both claim to be horror games.
Maybe but RE4 is supposed to feel like a b movie and its succeeded, DS is just trying to hard and fails. Strobe lights and jump scares are just annoying.
also
>sh2 plot where main character refuses to accept that his wife is dead
only if you stop offering shiites pleasure merriages first
Yes. The steam HD version works like a charm too, 60fps it looks even better if you up the resolution.
I loved DS 1 and 2 but i still think RE4 is the better experience overall for several reasons.
For example, in RE4 you dont repeat the same type of encounters, ever. There is always something that spices things up. Also, upgrades dont make you instantly overpowered like in DS, the game has better variety in weapons, enemies and enviroments overall and a goofy plot that makes you smile when you stop and think how ridiculous things are.
Getting used to tank controls if you never played RE4 isnt an issue, you can get it down in a few hours. I do replay DS 1 and 2 every year because they are pretty short and honestly not that hard. Hell, hardcore on DS2 is a walk in the park after you understand where the choke points are, compared to RE4 DS1 and 2 give you too much fucking ammo.
>Loved Dead Space
Screw RE4 and go straight to Enemy Zero. Game will fuck with your mind and leave you in a constant state of fear.
>Enemy Zero
i just googled this.... wtf it looks awesome. I v never even heard of this
beeb beeb beeb beeb beeb beeb
BOOB
Oh yeah let me just whip out my fucking Saturn
