I'm sure he would hate that you can make your character black

He'd deem it negro sorcery and hide in his kitchen like he always did.

t. libcucks

something something inconceivable cyclopean something something eldritch something something mad Arab Abdul Alhazred something Cthulhu fhtagn

Niggers

He'd hate it because even a game with as little story as Bloodborne is better than his dogshit writing.

he'd hate it because filthy japs stole his ideas

He'd be more interested in the average Bloodborne player and realize that videogames were one of those things man should not have learned about.

You have no idea how much Lovecraft hated niggers. One of his stories has someone going insane due to the revelation that her great grandmother was a nigger.

Like most games that butchered the atmosphere he presented, he wouldn't like it. Japs are good at stealing folklore, writing and history from Europe and the US and butchering them beyond recognition

In the story it's more of a subhuman ape monster.

So, yeah, I guess you're right.

Regardless of your political leanings, you cannot deny Lovecraft REALLY hated black people.

Skipping over the "NIGGERS", "Video games were a mistake", and "his writing sucked" arguments to actually give an honest answer on gameplay. Bloodborne eldritch monsters are too weak for Lovecraft. They should be things so horrific that to see them or even know of their existence would drive you insane, to challenge them would be like taking on the universe.

also niggers

Jews too, despite marrying a half-Jew. Even back in the 30s, the dude was considered basically the equivalent to a Sup Forumstard. Except for the fact that he got married.

What is this supremacy bullshit. Yuck. At least people showed some interest in your 'culture'.

Not only that but he wrote Shadow Over Innsmouth because he found out he had WELSH ancestry. Not African. not Injun. WELSH. He freaked out and wrote about fishmen because he found out he was WELSH.

Dude was CRAZY.

>town full of xenophobic 'holier than thou' Englishmen
I can't tell if he'd be afraid of them and hate them for being so different and into occult stuff, or if he'd get that they're a bit of a jab at how xenophobic and racist he is.

They are not a jab at how "xenophobic and racist" he was. Are you really dumb enough to think they designed bloodborne characters to criticize lovecrafts worldview?

"Hey, I like it" - H.P. Lovecraft

"fucking niggers monsters"

He also really hated Irish Catholics and German immigrants

Not as much as he did with the two above and the Niggs, obviously.
Jews and Hispanics had some redeeming factors for him, although they can never hope to get equal with the Anglo-Saxon master race

He'd probably like the designs for some of the eldritch shits for being nigh-indescribable and might like the adaptation of the dreamworlds, but would dislike everything else.

"Not satisfied with plagiarizing the creations of the chinaman Kentaro Miura, those people now shew interest in my own manuscripts. I rejoice that I did not survive to witness such aberrations." H.P.L.

Not like Lovecraft was doing anything good with them. He's the George Lucas of horror fiction.

Those exist, but only in mention. The ones you fight are just that: lesser corporeal gods.

yeh like beast degeneracy... he would love that.

>it's such bullshit you have to grind for blood vials
t. Lovecraft

>Not like Lovecraft was doing anything good with them
He made his own genre of horror, he was big, but non-erudite writings wasn't taken seriously during his time. His only failing is that he died.

"Wow. It's so Poe-like. I love it!"

"at least now I have one more reason to not leave my house"

This is supposed to be bad?

Too obvious, and he'd hate it to the point of vomiting because he was a puritan pussy, and the game it's pretty gory and disgusting.

He was never big. People just liked his ideas and made them good. His only credit is being a terrible writer and idea guy.

"oh, so it is possible to make human characters talk without delivering a huge chunk of unreadable text"

Probably a shitty opinion since he is basically Hodgson for plebs.

"I'm happy there are no niggers in this game"

"wow, this is epic, bro"

Hehe.

If he was never big we wouldn't be having this thread about him right now , and SJWs wouldn't freak out about his xenophobia

That thing always gets me lmao
All these retarded niggers making PC fanfics with cthulhu and then saying SEE WE'RE COLONIZING HIS GENRE WE WON HAHAHA

Has the popularity of Lovecraft made it an ebin meme to hate on him on cool, contrarian imageboards?

All the answers here are memes.
His books were "pulp" fictions ans he would be happy for any recognition and moneygrab he could get.
He would accept money for far far far worse adaptations of his books.

Just your resident SJWs trying to push an opinion

Same with the white ape princess story of his.

"Pretentious trash made by smelly chinks."

...

why would I care about what some footballer has to say about video games?

...

So what's the moon squid pulling all the strings? An upper lesser being?

I think his mind would be blown from computers and video games themselves.

That's the one.

He would probably hate video games as a whole.

Well in his writing, going "nuts" wasn't really treated as a permanent thing or anything, just temporary breakdowns because they saw something traumatic. You never fight any of the "true" Old Ones, either, just leftovers, priests, and worshippers. Which wouldn't really be a probably.

No, Lovecraft would hate the gameplay for one very simple reason: he disliked pulp fiction and thought action for the sake of action was for twats.

Lovecraft became a good goy in his last years tho

His books weren't that good and he didn't do anything worthwhile. Why are people here so obsessed with him? Is it because he was pretty much a /r9k/ loser and they identify with him?

>he disliked pulp fiction
>He would later have his works be combined with pulp fiction
Oh the irony

He's just the one popular weird fiction writer that dealt with cosmic events and not just folklore or urban myths, themes that resonant with a globalist world where the individual knows they don't matter.

Lovecraft and his friends were the last great era of American literature.

>being a brainlet who can't grasp the magnitude of cosmic insignificance.

Disliked pulp fiction? Wot?

He wad best bros with Bob Howard and Clark smith.

How could he dislike pulp fiction? Tarantino wasn't even born yet.

He was deathly afraid of anyone that's not english. He died a hermit for a reason

Naw because of fun ya lil spoil sport faggot.
He wrote some fun fiction shit. Just cause others find something you don't fun does not mean its bad.

It is okay to not like things but another to be a lil faggity bitch about it.

Baaaka

I recall there was a direct confrontation with Cthulhu in Call of Cthulhu, but the attack was ramming a boat in him, but he didn't even notice it.

It popped his head open and then regenerated and went "meh fuck it i'm out" kinda like Slayer in guilty gear

Maybe a corporeal form of a higher being, or like you said, a lesser being that was only pulling strings on a mortal level

Protagonist is much too active and violent.
It’s silly to manufacture a scenario where you can directly and violently confront eldritch abominations let alone win.

Probably mixed appreciation for the use of blood themes as a catalyst for folk horror imagery.

I'm sure he would have loved it as an impeccable translation of his work into the video game medium.

>when did i become a caricature of myself?

who is the azathoth of bloodborne

like Tolkien's opinion on all the ripoffs who raped his work.

his writing style is shit, but his stories and concepts are good

The boat knocked him back to sleep, since Cthulhu hadn't even fully woken up yet. But the boat driver wasn't even trying to hit him- he just couldn't change course in time. The reason the narrator goes mad from the revelation is that he slowly realizes that the world very nearly ended years ago, and the only reason it didn't was because of a complete accident.

Nah, he would've thought it was cool that the game allowed you to play as Shub-Niggerath.

What this user said.

He wasn't big. Most of his notoriety comes way after his death when decent writers turned around and lifted his work.

Read his shit yourself. It's awful and boring. Interesting ideas. But awful. And boring.

When people who border on illiteracy tell people to read things, because they're fun: the post.

I already did, retard.
And posthumous fame is still fame.

You gonna say van gogh ain't big? Dumbass.

Overhyped sure, but awful? No.
I've read far, far worse horror than HPL even if he overuses adjectives.
