Why does no one stop them lying about their sales numbers? Isn't that illegal?

Why does no one stop them lying about their sales numbers? Isn't that illegal?

Because they aren't lying? They're very transparent about their sells.

wow, sonigs are getting terribly desperate these days

Maybe the company you're talking about, but not this one.

You can lie about whatever you want as long as you're not under oath in a courtroom.

That's false.

Nintendo can't lie in reports issued to investors.

Dumb falseflagger.

why do you care about their sales numbers? I'm a Nintendo fan and I don't care. I just play the games.

The U.S. Switch sales numbers are a bit low, so I doubt they're lying.

Sure they can. If the government can lie about unemployment statistics a company can lie to its own people.

>The U.S. Switch sales numbers are a bit low
Eh, for less than a year with stock issues? Not really.

That's not close to being the same thing, user.

Publicly traded companies have some very strict standards when it comes to public reporting. It's a big deal.

Lying on a financial statement is a crime

So is tax evasion but these companies still do it.

How are they lying?

Like they lied about the Wii U, right?

You do realize if Nintendo lied to its investors the SEC will raid them in and out and shut the whole operation down?
Please be trolling

The PS4 sold 1 million at launch in the U.S. alone, but that comparison is a bit unfair. I just think it's odd that the biggest potential market generated less than half of the Switch's current global sales.

Why not? Sony and Micropenis do it? Before you "b-but sony" me, I don't buy consoles anymore, just sayin.

it doesn't have madden or cod

PS4 released during the holidays.

You do realise that there are several companies that lie about their numbers sold right?
Hell Sony themselves do it telling their investors that their shipped numbers are how many sold.

In the context of investor reports, the important thing is shipped units, because that's what's relevant to their finances, not how many retailers sell. It's nothing like lying to investors when the data is clearly labeled.

>the important thing is shipped units
Absolutely wrong. What they need are direct sales to gauge interest.

>source: my ass

Every fucking time.
