>tfw while everyone is played Oddessy, I'm playing 3D Land for the first time Man I can't believe I forgot about this game all this time, just beat it and it was way better than I expected. Pretty challenging at times too. Could have used better regular boss fights though.
Yeah, anyone want to talk about it or something?
Josiah Williams
It's fun. I like the linear 3D level design. Just wish the difficulty was more consistent throughout.
Caleb Rogers
I played it when it came out but I barely remember it. It didn't leave much of an impression on me.
Zachary James
Its literally the easiest game in existence
Noah Smith
Some of the post game levels were challenging for me but yeah this mostly :/
That said, I'm guessing you're in your early to mid twenties like I am. I think a lot of stuff is just gonna be easy for us now. We've been playing games for 15+ years

I haven't been able to beat world 2, I fucking hate losing those shiny shits when I'm hit.
Andrew Young
I plowed through it when it came out. 100 percent completion with both Mario and Luigi.
I love simple games like this. Games like Odyssey are obviously fantastic, but sometimes its nice to just slow down and play a game like 3d land. Everything is played super safe for the franchise, there aren't any crazy gimmicks to learn, its just solid 3d platforming all the way through.
Honestly I even liked it more than 3d World.
Jackson Sanchez
>beat game 77 lives Mh..it was pretty fun, well my first time beating a mario game >special world got unlocked >-10000 lives >mfw
Fuck those shitty what if we put a time limit of 10 seconds? what if we also put shadow mario in it?
Was still fucking fun though
Joseph Allen
3D Land is phenomenal
3D World on the other hand is pure wasted potential
Luis Gomez
I enjoyed it for what it was. much better handheld mario than fucking NSMB shit
i would like to think these 2.5D games could live along side proper 3D mario games
Adam Nelson
this is the biggest shame. it was literally only the last couple of levels in 3D World (so a whole other game of easy shit) until it gave a proper challenge.
those last couple levels were quite fun though
Samuel Hernandez
What am I looking at here? Never played 3D world
Eli Morris
It was fun, the star road levels were challenging at times
Carson Butler
Top is the final game.
Bottom is a fan edit of what the game should have looked like
Caleb Jenkins
3D World was just 3D Land in HD with multiplayer. Both games are trash.
Christian Turner
>tfw the streetpass for 3d land is dead
Anthony Harris
3D Land works because its a simple handheld platformer for the 3ds, made to be picked up and played in bursts whenever you want.
The fact that they took the formula, level design, and level of detail as a 3ds game like Land, and ported it to the WiiU as the very first HD mario game is revolting
Ayden Bailey
>Pretty challenging at times too
Logan Rivera
To me it was a big disappointment. I bought it on launch expecting something as good as Super Mario 3 in 3D. But the final product is just a collection of levels with dumb gimmicks spread in non themed worlds. There is no feeling of adventure or journey. It's lifeless as fuck. It looks good and plays nice, but it's empty as hell.
Wyatt Sanchez
>having wireless enabled on your 3ds
Gavin Roberts
>he didnt use streetpass back when it was big You missed out on a lot of fun
Noah Hernandez
Shit is unforgiving when you don't have your Tanuki suit sometimes.

It was pretty good. I happen to be one of the very few people on this earth who didn't get to experience much Mario in my early childhood, only some games released in handheld (Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, Super Mario Bros 2. remake on the GBA, among some others I might forget with a few Wario Land in between) and never really had any actual main Nintendo console until the Wii U.
It's pretty fun, there's literally a song from it I can't get off my mind (I think it's from the beach levels), still haven't beaten Champion's Road, might whenever I feel like it. Besides that, I've gotten everything with Mario and Luigi iirc. Kinda stung not having learned beforehand that requisite to have shimmering stars in your save file and having only learned it much much later when it was already too late.
Definitely got more of a good impression from me than fucking NSMB2, honestly. The theme behind that game always felt so out-of-place to me and very un-Mario like.
Kayden Mitchell
>Shimmering stars
Wait what? How do you get that?

>Star 1 - Beat Bowser in World 8 as Mario. >Star 2 - Beat all the levels in all the main worlds. >Star 3 - Collect all the Star Medals from every level, including the Special World but excluding Purple "?" cube bonus levels. >Star 4 - Clear Special World 8 then return to and Clear 2nd World 8-Castle. (Mario or Luigi) >Star 5 - Get the Gold Flag (land on the very top of the flag pole) on every level, including the Special World, and clear every level once as Mario and also as Luigi. You can see a Gold Flag on the map screen (top screen) once you attain it and a L on the on the map screen (top screen) for each level you've beat with Luigi so you can keep track. Likewise for Mario (but it's an 'M'). >Shiny Stars - Never die more than 5 times in a level in the main worlds -- if you see the help box appear, simply restart your 3DS. You will return to the map screen outside the last level you beat. You will have to play the level you were working on again, but you won't be punished by losing your shiny stars.
Cameron Allen
just replying to say I did get all fives stars, but not the very last requisite simply due to not knowing, which would require me to start a new file all over
Dominic Stewart
I 100% completed it twice. It's fun, albeit easy. It's the game I got a 3DS for back in 2011. I ind of got my hopes up it would be like Mario 64, but still appreciated it being A-B levels.
Josiah Anderson
3d land and world are both great marios. people just had mega autism about them because they were not another open ended mario game. now that there is another one people will start to let up on them and even talk fondly of them. just you wait and see.
