No magnum opus thread?
Why do Zachtronic games never get any discounts until the game is old as fuck?
REEEEEE
Very Dark Thread fucked with me too much.
It literally just came out, there's no reason it should be discounted
Do you have to be autistic to understand what this game is about?
No, it's pretty easy to understand and beat.
The autistic part is optimising for better and better machines. Best part is, you get to choose what "better" means.
At least Shenzhen I/O had a 10% discount when it was in early access / just released.
No.
I fucking love Sigmar's Garden
Finally found an almost satisfying solution for Life-sensing potion that is not complete shit.
Who /balanced/ here. Minimum money is just putting in a single piston and then spending half an hour spinning the molecule around with no need to sync the system. Minimum cycle is just putting pistons everywhere. Meanwhile balanced is all about seeing how much an extra arm is going to cut down on cycles.
I unlocked the solitaire game and Im having too much fun with it to make more systems.
I'd love an android version of that alone for my phone.
How can you make your areas this big? Mine are always like
and it gets a bit annoying when space is so limited.
>How can you make your areas this big? Mine are always like
The field is infinite? You can just pan the field. The gif maker will just adjust itself to the amount of space you used.
You can pan around the board with right click and drag, if that's what you're asking. And you have unlimited space.
Hold right click and drag to scroll around the board. Can also be done on the programming interface.
Ohh, now I feel stupid. I always tried zooming out.
Thanks guys!
A zoom option would be nice though.
Use your newfound abilities to create something even more autistic!
This looks cool. Puzzle game similar to spacechem?
Just started, is this a garbage solution? The graph says it is.

You can clearly see what threads/post are done by company shills and wich ones are by user, the shill ones feel to optimized and perfect, alienating brainlets such as myself, this designs tho feel more like home.

Opus Magnum is OK, but it lacks complexity compared to Zach's previous games. There is no state feedback element in this game (e.g. sensors) or means of varying the operations performed based on the state of the system. This makes for a more accessible experience, however for Zachlike veterans this open-loop limitation makes for a noticably simplified experienced. Perfectly good game, but manage your expectations - this is not SpaceChem's second coming.
You could be making both salts at nearly the same time. I'm not home to show my solution unfortunately.
A solution is a solution though, it's always a good jumping off point to find better ways to do it
If you want brainlet solutions, I got you covered.

How do I get good at this? I'm a fucking brainlet
How this one make you feel?
it's a flash game, there's no reason it should be $20
you guys guys know how to make an user feel at home
what do you call thisone? the traveling salt?
You should make it a multi arm and make a polymer in each.
Only in terms of cost, cycles and area, but it's impossible to optimize them all in the same solution
A fitting name, for sure.
this is actually quite practical, I've been thinking how to solve it.
>9
Is it even possible to input-cap the surrender flare?
>148
That's an area build. Here's cost, haven't done cycles yet
Really happy with this one boys
Are you proud of me, Sup Forums?
>starting the neext product beforew the first one is done
always makies me hard, also name your shit guys.
Something about the rightmost arm being so idle most of the time just doesn't feel right. I dunno how to avoid that though
How do I learn to optimise machines? Any tips and tricks for a low IQ (srs) brainlet like me?
Sometimes it just as simple as eliminating any gaps or blank spots in your code. But I think with your design there might be a delay regardless.
On one like this, I try to put each side together separately. It escalates cost obviously but it takes cycles down really well
Is this like Infinifactory but 2D?
Just finish it first. Then look into it, and try to figure out what seems unnecessarily complicated or unmoving in your setup.
technically I can triple the output, but synching up three of these to a single product is going to be a pain

post your A E S T H E T I C solutions
symmetry is always aesthetic
> TFW you cap production
that's the shit
no matter what costfags say, only solutions with input-cap are valid

Someone once complimented this design for being aesthetic, though I'm not sure how it qualifies. Seems pretty basic to me.
I dunno but I like your style
Thanks for the ideas. Fiddled around with it a bit and got it a bit cheaper and a good bit faster at a small area expense.
one to go...

I really enjoy this game
Become a brainlet and even you can perform tasks such as these.
is it possible to do the first one in less than 20 cycles?
Considering you're input capped and there is no moment where you're not putting something into the output or have any orbs with wasted movement it's unlikely anyone will be able to get it any faster.
liek this?
Got the cycles down by shaving off initial setup. That's where I try to do my optimizations but it can get really difficult later on.
...
i wish i didnt enjoy this game so it wouldnt suck 3 hours of my life away each time i open the game and i dont even know where those hours went
Yeah, usually I'm happy so long as its input capped especially on later ones.
Getting out those last 5 cycles for rearranging everything and sequence 20 arms on 4 tracks is also too much for me
god damn that is sexy
Wish there was a piston that only could stretch in and out without being able to spin around.
Holy FUCK this shit looks tough. Why are you guys basically doing school work as a video game? Am I just stupid?
Germans
it's only hard if you try to optimize it. there's no limit to the space and amount of machines you use
This gets me so HARD
That one can actually be input capped but it's exceedingly difficult simply because it means you have to drag salt from one side to the other when your board is cut in half. I spent several hours on it yesterday and gave up.
this. fucking shenzen IO is basically programming in assembly. you can get paid 70K a year for that shit as a real job.

because it's fun
