i like this game but its only fun with friends or if you were playing online. i hated how in the campaign all the enemies would gangbang you and never attack each other. come to think of it, all car combat games had this problem. loved the storylines though, easily the series best.

Also it's arguably the best car combat game made. The physics, weapons, momentum, everything just clicks in a way that makes it feel fantastic.
Twisted Metal 2 is also a weaker game than V81 or 2.

Twisted Metal 2 is brutally unbalanced though, Thumper can 1 shot some cars with his ice missile and special combo, shadow is also really strong.
Black is decently harder, but if you just consistently hit and run, pick up power ups, and manage your health trailer uses so that you don't overuse them you should manage it. I still haven't gotten past that prison island as Mr. Grimm in Black though, that start is goddamn brutal.
V8 is super underrated, and as much as I hate the term "aged" it applies heavily to TM2. I mean it's still a great game, but V8 just does everything better.

Even in Twisted Metal Head On the Thumper car is driven by a young white girl.
Car combat is dead as fuck, and I don't think TM 2012 did all that well.
It's a damn shame, I'd for sure back a kickstarter for an indie TM clone.
