>need souls to upgrade my equipment to beat a boss
>farm 6k souls
>get killed on the way back to the bonfire
>try to recover my lost souls, got an extra 2k souls along the way
>close to collect the old souls
>get fucking backtstabbed from behind and killed instantly
>just lost 8k souls and waste 1 hour of farming
>try to continue farming, get killed at 3k souls
>clench my teeth and throw my glass of water into the furniture
Fuck how do I minimize the agony this fucking game gives me.
Need souls to upgrade my equipment to beat a boss
Just time your rolls better senpai
i usually get hit when getting up from a roll, my current equipment slows down the roll and roll recovery, been trying to lessen the weight but it's still the same
Bro u just gotta accept, YOU WILL LOSE SOULS. And 8k is nothing I have easily lost over 100k souls before and nothing got broken. Not to mention if it took u an hour to get 8k ur probly farming in the wrong spot
Depends on the souls game. But the rolls speeds have 3 tiers. Like almost no weight is fastest, maybe 20% equip load. The next one u gotta beat is be under 70% equip load for medium rolls. Then fatty fat fat rolls at 70% +
you are fat rolling rn, level your vigor so your weight goes lower than 70% and youll be good or just stop dual wielding greatswords you NERD
Learn to go light as possible and roll through everything, it's really much more reliable than attempting to tank hits.
It is generally a poor idea to grind for souls in early game areas. Get just strong enough to beat a boss or two, and find some easy to kill enemies in an area farther along in the game. They grant a lot more souls when killed and are more worth farming.
In DS1, farm Sen's Fortress man-serpents. Or if you're not that far, the plant enemies near the Forest.
In DS2, farm Heide's Tower of Flame.
In DS3, farm the undead log-wielders. Irithyll of the Boreal Valley is also really ez souls once you get the hang of fighting the Pontiff Knights.
Earlier today I lost 10k souls over a dumb, risky jump in the catacombs, no biggie, on my way back to get it, get parry and riposted by a skele with a sliver of health remaining

>Souls games
>farming
That's what you're doing wrong.
>need souls to upgrade my equipment to beat a boss
This is where you messed up. Just go fight the boss.
Having the fastest roll speed is always better than having more armor. If you aren't fastrolling you're doing it wrong
Dark Souls 1?
if that's the case you can still do the infinite soul using glitch
This. Farming in souls game simply holds you back from getting good.
For casuals like us, the agony never goes away. Every few new corners there is something that gets you, and there is always going to be a seemingly insurmountable wall to climb.
You basically live on the anxious fear kind of edge the entire game, not the adrenaline pumped up kind.
Ring of sacrifice.
if you're playing the first one, you should've given up after the gargoyles fight

>fight asylum demon on the wall just past old wolf of farron
>grabs me and tosses me off the bridge
>200k souls dropped
>no biggie I'll just ride the elevator back up and reclaim them
>forget the elevator is up
>run into a giant gaping hole in place of the platform
Also your level isn't really as important as your weapons, i never really feel like my character isn't good enough, but there are times where i felt like i just wasn't doing a lot of damage.
>the plant enemies near the Forest
>100 souls each
Unless you're a pyro, you're gonna have a bad time.
Honestly, once you have access to Darkroot Forest you can just farm the four NPCs there assuming you're not in the Forest covenant already.
ring of sacrifice also saves the blood puddle
i think
vaati said so
i know, i just didn't expect to die between bonfire and demon since the only thing there was an elevator
