Is Shadow of the Colossus a 10/10 game or is just a meme game?

Is Shadow of the Colossus a 10/10 game or is just a meme game?

It's really good once.

10/10 for its time. Clunky controls compared to modern games. 10/10 soundtrack.

10/10 in my opinion.

Honestly I think the controls are fine. Button configurations a little odd but Wander's movement feels pretty good to me.

It's a solid 7.5/10, all of their games are completely overrated

It's a solid 7/10 weekend waster. It stands in the shadow of REALLY good 6th gen games from that time period, though.

Can you elaborate?

Concept is good. Graphics are great. Music is great. World design is fantastic. Controls are pure ass.
I've never said this before, and I hope I never say it again: Shadow of the Colossus is a better game to watch than to play. You miss absolutely nothing, and gain an appreciation for the title that would be lost otherwise.

In terms of being a piece of gaming "art", it's a 10/10. In terms of gameplay, 7.0-7.5. I personally love it, it was very ambitious and succeeded in creating ambiance with awe-inspiring boss battles. For the first time at least. It's a bit clunky, but I recommend it to everyone. The ending is some Neon Genesis Evangelion level shit too.

It's a ten.

Will the remake fix the controls?

10/10 meme game.

No

What's the issue with the controls other than the weird button configuration?

Most overrated PS2 game, and that's saying quite a bit.

SotC released after games like Half-Life 2, Resident Evil 4, MGS3, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Metroid Prime 2, and a bunch of others. It's kind of hard to be all that impressed by it if you played all those games beforehand unless you're some artfag.

Controls fine, you're actually a cunt

Not him but getting on the horse is a hassle. Half the time I'm just jumping in place. I've never been able to get on while running either.

Best way is to jump and grab on with R1, never use the actual mount with triangle.

Can you climb onto creatures hundred feet tall and stab them in the head in those games?

Standing and getting on was awkward. Jumping and grabbing onto the saddle as if it was a ledge was the way to go.

you are asking Sup Forums if a popular, highly regarded, critically acclaimed game is good or not?
You must be new here

That has little to do with the control scheme and more to do with the area you have to be in next to the saddle to mount it being too small.

I've replayed this game countless times and never knew you could do that, thank you.

There could be a mount button instead of that zoom in button. One that makes you run to the horse and get on automatically like GTA or some shit.

it was really impressive at the time
I don't think you would like it very much if you're playing it now for the first time

No.

Exactly. The scope and scale is still impressive to this day.

Best colossus. Too bad it's early in the game and every colossus afterwards isn't as good.

I played it for the first time a year ago and loved it.

It's just a short boss rush with simple climbing and stabbing action. It's not that impressive.

That's just the goal, which doesn't sound impressive.
That technology on a piece of shit ps2 is impressive.

10/10 for music, atmosphere and the horse. 7/10 for the rest.

this.

sotc featured some nifty as fuck shit, some of it is still unmatched
>physics enabled climbing and fur / cloth effects
>deferred full screen motion blur
>generally fantastic visuals for the time
>the bestest and coolest fucking horse and horse controls in any game ever created, literally 11/10
>fucking awesome soundtrack

Meme game. I killed like the sixth colossus and got bored and never played it again.

It's okay. I never really understood what people like about it so much. Big, empty world, stab in the weak point for massive damage bosses, and atrocious controls.

muh atmosphere

ok game, but reading the deleted and unused stuff articles is 300% more interesting and enjoyable
