Ironically, Cappy allows for much more fluid movement than FLUDD so I'll vote for Cappy
Not only did FLUIDD need water to wotk, but that forced Nitnendo to make almost every dam level in a sunshine water focused. FLUIDD sucked ass.
I want a game about all of the discarded buddies from Nintendo franchises
both crap, but cappy is less crap
Poltergust 5000
>sunshine had water everywhere
>wind waker had water everywhere
>ruby/sapphire had water everywhere
Why was early 2000s Nintendo obsessed with water?
Froppy
galaxy
As a sunshinefag, I will concede that Cappy is much better intergrated as a part of Mario's core moveset, wheras Fludd was more of it's own seperate gameplay mechanic.
Every level in sunshine being tropical and water focused was the entire point.
Both of them are fantastic.
id rather have mario 64 controls. so i can crawl and longjump
Cappy, easily. They're both interesting but Cappy allows more in the movement and platforming department while FLUDD was more of it's own thing.
Was this guy a former Nintendo executive all along?
More important question: Why is Mario's mustache black but his hair light brown?
DLC when?
You can capture things with Cappy that pretty much give you Fludds abilities
You can do both in Odyssey
>ywn see his reaction to BotW water
I bet he busted a nut, bros.
Is his mustache... FAKE?
are his eyebrows fake too?
>Removing the triple jump in 3D World
I don't know what they fuck they were thinking.
You idiots his eyebrows and mustache aren't fake.
his HAIR is
Look at Pokemon Black/White and Skyward Sword, released around the same time. Nintendo was going through a linear stripped-down gameplay phase.
The only really cool shit with FLUDD was the turbo nozzle which you could only find in certain stages, Cappy has better and cooler moves right from the get-go
I fucking hate you so fucking much you dumb cunt. You can just tell this post was meant to be serious and not bait and it's the shittiest thing I've ever read. Fuck you.
>Pokemon Black/White
These weren't really much more linear than past games, it was just a lot more noticeable because the region was basically a circle.
Cappy. The Odyssey moveset is so good I think I'm going to miss it whenever we get the next game.
Using fludd doesn't look impressive and is slow
is there an online manual or list of moves in odyssey? are the physics like mario 64?
i find it hard to belive its the same as mario 64 but with cappy
You attack with Cappy so no punches or kicks (or that breakdance move) and diving is bit different. But it's pretty much the same besides that.
flood was kind of annoying and felt very gimmicky. cappy instantly felt "right" and it makes more sense because mario's hat is iconic
why are your eyebrows darker than your hair?
I think the triple jump would have hindered 3D World more then helped because of how much more 2d-style platforming-heavy it is. There are a lot more precise(ish), consecutive jumps in 3D World then in the proper 3D games.
Cappy because he isn't intrusive as some dumbass water backpack.
maybe because that's what the games based around? There's no smoke and mirrors.
Who's going around telling you it's exactly like Mario 64. It isn't nor is it trying to be.
Well, I'd honestly jam my dick into either of them, but Cappy's cuter so I'll go with him
I want him to not be able to hold on to my massive thing any longer
spwp
Did Galaxy seriously not have a dive or crouch? My memory is already failing me.
How is FLUDD intrusive?
This. I got so used to using them that I fucked up easily on the cappy-less sections havoing known 3D Mario's moveset for years. Hopefully they just keep Cappy from now on.
Crawling and Crouch Walking are the same thiong except different animations. Obviously you can long jump in Odyssey, its just not as broken as 64's.
cant long jump
You could crouch, crouch-walk, and spin-kick. Diving was limited to some context-sensitive cliffs above water.
FLUDD because Cappy holds your hand with annoying ass hints you cant turn off
Well for starters design wise he's a giant clunky backpack whereas Cappy is camouflaged to Mario's head. Secondly something like Fludd takes getting use to, whereas Cappy is simple and intuitive to use from the get go.
>Well for starters design wise he's a giant clunky backpack whereas Cappy is camouflaged to Mario's head
That's pretty superfluous and has nothing to do with gameplay.
>Secondly something like Fludd takes getting use to, whereas Cappy is simple and intuitive to use from the get go
A water gun and a hover mechanic are complicated now? It sounds to me like you're really reaching for these.
I want them to keep the cap throw and cap platform but take out Cappy/the capture mechanic for future titles
Physics are not like Mario 64. They are like Galaxy.
Diving is very different. Required speed and gave speed in 64. Now it's mostly used for diving on your thrown cap
>That's pretty superfluous and has nothing to do with gameplay.
Which is why I said design wise you moron.
>A water gun and a hover mechanic are complicated now? It sounds to me like you're really reaching for these.
In a Mario game it definitely sticks out as strange and out of place. Coming from Mario 64 to Sunshine I'm sure anyone would feel that way. Cappy on the other hand actually fits Mario's playstyle perfectly. Whether Fludd is good or bad is debatable, but you definitely can't deny it's extremely unusual for a Mario game.
>Physics are not like Mario 64. They are like Galaxy.
thanks. will not buy
>Physics are not like Mario 64. They are like Galaxy.
That's not true either. They feel more like a refined version of Sunshine to me.
>Physics are not like Mario 64. They are like Galaxy.
False
which one sucks dick better?
oddessy feels worse then sunshine IMO, it's more of a midpoint between 64 and sunshine's physics and movement
To me, Cappy feels like a "Mario needs a new gimmick/sidekick" character (And of course, so does FLUDD, but I have fun with him). I don't really care too much for the mechanic of taking things over, I would have preferred if Mario could just throw his hat and jump off of it, that's the best thing to come out of Cappy.
Honestly this. Possessing something is fun once, and it's always for a "puzzle" the explicitly requires the thing you just possessed.
Probably Cappy, can take over almost anything provided they're not wearing a hat vs. Backpack that shoots water in various ways
Cappy allows for my favourite fetish so he wins.
Cappy adds to platforming by adding fun new moves the player can use in many different ways.
FLUDD adds to the platforming by adding 1 move per nozzle and usually just being a "make this easier" or "I fucked up" button.
my beard and eyebrows are actually lighter than my hair, but the point still stand that is retarded

>one of the enemies in Odyssey you can capture is pretty much fludd
>Sunshine is basically like if you had one captured enemy the whole game you had to live with, until it takes you to platforming bit where you don't use it. Which is 70% of the time.
I liked odyssey, but loved sunshine. So I guess FLUDD > Cappy for me. Might be nostalgia though.
FLUDD, Cappy is pretty useless. Rolls, Dives, etc. are all Mario. Cappy just gives small boosts.
>FLUDD needs water to work and is restricted to only three abilities
>Cappy can do ranged attacks in any direction and allows mario to take control of mostly any living thing in-sight from goombas to a realistic T-Rex, granting access to their abilities
Anyone who says FLUDD is only thinking in nostalgia
