Do you agree with him? I do
Wii U has been one of the worst purchases of my life

If a $200 toy is the worst purchase of your life you probably haven't made many bad purchases.
>1340 hours played on my WiiU SO FAR
I'm gonna need to vehemently disagree.
I bought a Wii U last winter once it was announced it was stopping production. It was a pretty good purchase because I already knew what games were good and bad and I knew it was impossible for me to get my hopes dashed on future games.
Is that the whole article?

no one likes throwing $300 away on a paperweight
I have some weird aversion to playing the Wii U, despite having a pretty sizable collection.
It's like I'm unwilling to play it. It's like the disappointing son who makes me less willing to spend time with him, creating a vicious cycle...
well youre a nintendo cocksucker, nobody cares about your opinion..you bought literally every game lol
no preferred genres, no multiplayer, just whatever nintendo shovels at you
>moving the goalposts because no genuine argument
Pretty much every game I played I enjoyed on the Wii U. I made two purchasing mistakes, some paint program for the wii u that sucked and Splatoon. Honestly, the porn was the only reason I even bought that game and it failed to keep me interested.
As a Nintendo fan, skipping the Wii U has been one of my best decisions ever. Sm4sh was too close to Brawl, so it's basically Brawl with more characters and autism adjustments for competitive.
Anything else was done first and better on the Wii or NGC, or will be done better on the Switch.
No, I had a Sega Saturn. Should have used that money to get more Playstation/N64 games as a kid. Took me a long time to play some of those classics.
>you bought literally every game lol
Right except for Color Splash, Devils Third, NES Remix, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Game and Wario, Wii Play U or some of the other genuinely terrible Nintendo titles
I think I spent more time playing Zombie U than anything.
Really dug that game. Can't even explain why.
lucky guy
My worst purchase was the 5 grand I had to shell out for staying too long at a strip club
Worse than a PS4 or Xbox One?
No.
Xbone is so much worse. Wii U sure did have its problems but it also had some great exclusives, and so it's really not that much worse than every Nintendo console post-SNES. The Xbone is functionally dead, it has ZERO exclusives from now on and is literally just a shitty PC that costs almost as much as a real PC. I bought one for who the fuck knows what reason back before I built a new PC and it hasn't been used in ages; it's completely worthless.
Did you get locked inside and drink all the beer?
At least you seen some real tits unlike most nintyfags lol
PS4 is way better.
i've wasted money on worse things.
im gonna hack it soon.
>real
mmm, I don't know about that...
The Wii U is only a bad purchase if you're a retard who doesn't buy good games when they come out.
>W101
>Bayo 2
>Mario Maker
>MK8
>Dong Freeze
>Smash 4
>Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Dude is a massive brainlet, W101, XCX and DKCTF are mandatory experiences for any "gamer" and worth the price of admission
I bought Mario Maker when it came out and I've always thought it sucked.
And MK8 is on Switch.
Well the skin is real
>XCX
no
>console
>handhelds
>anything except a PC
So this nigger has never bought a piece of fruit that went bad, or a movie ticket to something with Christian Bale in it, or bought some stuck up birth dinner who ghosted him after, or a Linkin Park album, or Twizzlers, or Taco Bell?
Somehow I don’t believe that. He’s already proven he has bad taste and poor understanding of hyperbole, so why the fuck should I believe him when he’s a click bait shitgiraffe?
>no preferred genres, no multiplayer, just whatever nintendo shovels at you
>Sup Forums is this unfamiliar with the concept of actually liking video games
You know a Wii U is way more expensive than any of those things right?
The poorest purchase of my life was an air conditioning unit that ran on water.
Yes I was retarded back then.
Basically you'd put cold water in a tank and the ventilator was supposed to "nebulize" that or some shit and it would make fresh hair.
Spent €70 on that shit, tried to return it and the fucker wouldn't take it back.
Eventually his business failed and his store was bought out by chinese that now sell everything instead.
KARMA'S A BITCH ALBERTO, WHO'S LAUGHING NOW YOU PIECE OF SHIT
Had to get this off my chest.
>The Wonderul 101
>Bayonetta 2
>Dong Freeze
I'm pretty happy with it, aside from the Pokken bullshit.
>not having a PC for multiplats and Nintendo for exclusives
All of Wii U's "exclusives" are going to come to Switch
Nope. Best console I own since the NES. Gamecube tier gems in it's library, comfy tablet for playing in bed. Pro controller is best controller that never runs out of battery then I hack it to have almost the entire emulation library with hdmi output.
Reason I haven't bought a switch is because I can't put the WiiU down.
No, for me that title belongs to Vita.
>Gamecube tier gems in it's library,
lol no
Is the Switch getting any of these, tell me so I can sell them all.
If a 200-300 dollar console is the worst purchase of your life you aren't above the age of 18
This is dumb. That guy is dumb.
>i wasted money on video games
oh really?
W101 and Bayo 2 are pretty much confirmed
shit dad desu
I picked one up on the cheap a while ago with a PS4 Slim and I feel I got my money's worth. I may give it to my nephew. I really enjoyed Mario World and some others, though.
I've only used mine for Sm4sh, Mario Kart, Super Mario 3D World and BotW, and I don't consider it that bad.
I regret more spending money on shitty games I've hardly played.
meant for
If you hack it, its the best Nintendo console ever. It plays every system made by Nintendo except Switch(and really youre only missing out on Mario Odyssey) and can play everything up to certain PS1 games via Retroarch and even 3ds games now. Its the best console Nintendo has made until the Switch gets hacked.
>Switchtards attacking the WiiU because their selfconcious about half "their" library being available on a hacked system for way cheaper, with a better controller to play them with.
And what else is new?
not by much user. spending 50k on a degree that means nothing is a worse purchse imo senpai.
you need to use your brain and realize the guy that wrote that article is a utter moron.
Why should I care about it playing old games? I have old consoles for that
I've got 9000 hours played on Dota 2. Big fucking whoop you autist.
I scammed a WiiU from Walmart for $60 using price matching with an accidental listing from sears.
I played a little bit of Splatoon and beat Wind Waker.
Kind of regret it.
Pretty much. I fell hook line and sinker for Nintendo's "we're going back to the core" marketing line. After the casualized debacle that was the Wii, I was ready for them to stop catering to shit eating wiimote waggling fag babies and cater to the original fanbase again, boy was I fucking fooled.
I see now with the Switch, and all Wiiu's games that were "Core games" that they'll never give up oversimplified design and forcing motion controls now. Even their games that had no motion controls, it was either over simplified in design, had bad mechanics, or was still a stale copy paste of their last titles on Wii which were casual tripe in and of themselves.
Even staples like Mario maker were extremely flawed in that control mechanics from the orginal games, set pieces, enemies, and other objects were missing because its nothing but a reskin of NSMB YET A FUCKING GAIN.
The consoles only REAL saving grace was Smash 4, and I cant even enjoy that one because LIKE YOU FAGGOT CRYBABIES ARE EXPECTING, its still not as good as melee. Before you start flinging your spindly cheeto encrusted fingers over your keyboards in a desperate attempt to debunk a MELEE ELITIST. I don't want another Melee, I just want the game to not feel like shit and smash 4 failed that.
What pissed me off the most was the complete lack of representation of core series that had potential on the Wiiu. There was no proper starfox (Zero was a cancelled Wii game, fuck off), there was no F-zero despite the potential of the gyroscope, and I say this as someone who hates motion controls with a passion. There was no Metroid, it didn't have its own Zelda, there was no motherfuckign ANIMAL CROSSING WHICH HURT THE MOST.
No instead what do we get? A fucking paint shooting game, some kirby rehashes, a baby filled mario kart that is the most oversimplified (yet pretty) mario kart to date, casualizing a already casual series.
FUCK WiiU and Nintendo. Yes I'm bitter.
Nope! I waited until Black Friday 2015 and got one for peanuts + enough party games to entertain me and my normie friends whenever I go out to see them.
The Wii U is still unparalleled in local multiplayer especially considering you can use Wii peripherals with it freely (a shame the Gamecube adapter was so limited though). If you choose to keep it as a solo console exclusively, I can see how you'd get disappointed but I thought it was still useful in its own right (the right to play whilst taking a dumper, that is).
The Switch however took three steps back with its backwards compatibility in favor of making it a glorified tablet, something that won't be appealing to me for a good while.
>and even 3ds games now
Holy shit WHAT
your fault for not knowing the difference, idiot.
t. Nintendo Switch cocksucker
Off the top of my head:
a shitty ice-cream making machine
a yogurt making machine
a metal detector that could only detect 40 cm underground, bought it for the equivalent of $500 in 98'
soft air guns, played for 2 years then stopped because fuck waking up at 5 AM on rest days
a power hook for using dumbbels by myself in the house-gym, they tripped all over and wouldn't get off the bar when I needed them to
a pair of kettlebells, I fell for the early 00s craze
And I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of useless shit like car accessories for 90s hi-tech I never used and such.
At least a good chunk of these are exclusives, even if they are bad ones.
PRINCE ALBERT IN A CAN!!!!
YOU BETTER LET THE POOR GUY OUT!
He assured me it would work and that he had the same in his house, when I returned it because it just output normal air he said stuff like "works on my machine :^)" and refused to take it back.
Who cares if their exclusive? Knack is an exclusive. Doesn't mean it's good or worth owning
Honestly if you expected anything better after the Wii and DSi, you deserve it. Why the fuck would they do anything other that whatever prints them money?
Just stick with the Gamecube, there is enough replay there to keep that void in your heart appeased for years.
Yeah I know man I got fooled, I admit that. I grew up playin their shit since 1989. I grew up a Nintendo, and Sega, then also Sony person with PS1 only.
So my want for Nintendo to go back to being good was really strong. Switch is looking relatively strong but I refuse to buy it until 1: I can spoof pay verification for their online, and 2: they have at least 10 games I want. Fuck that thing as it is now, it's overpriced too. Just fuck man.
Not amazing as my Wii but XCX and Bayo 2 made it worth it. I love being able to emulate GBA with it. Tr4sh is ok to play with casual friends.
I mean I'm not a fucking poorfag, I could buy a Wii U a day if I really wanted to, but it was the console I got the least use out of. Smash was shit, never got a real Mario or any Metroid, basically was a Mario Kart machine for me.
Yeah, three years after its initial release. Could we please stop acting like ports with barely any significant new content somehow invalidate the old version? I played MK8 for hundreds of hours with friends and online, with Wii controllers and a Pro Controller or two. On Switch we need two fucking consoles and have to play with tiny little fucking sticks, it's so fucking shit that we went back to the Wii U version because it was way easier to use
Not to mention they double the items which makes race mode play way worse.
The game also has worse online connectivity on Switch.
3DS was worth it for me for it's Atlus library alone. Backwards compatibility was icing on the cake.
wii u was cool, nintendo fucked up by making it so under powered. controller with a screen? fucking dope.
rip in piece wii u
no. he sounds like a bitch, which automatically destroys any reasonable argument he might have had. if people could just get past the sounding like a bitch part, they'd be much better off.
Look at all those children games.
mod it, worth it
But I did that and it's still not worth it, why did you lie to me?
Damn. I've purchased two cars and a home and they're all regret. How much can you honestly fucking regret something that's about equal to only your food budget for a month?
Most people tend to give it a lot of thought before purchasing something like a car or house so they don't regret it
Nah I got my money's worth with mh3u alone
Life is fucking shit and so is all the additional responsibility of I can't tell somebody else to fix this for me without paying a shit load of money.
i don't.
played quite a few games on it and it was quite a nice console
you're just a nintendo fanboy.
>they fucked up by making it under powered
Unfortunately they're making the same mistake with switch. People haven't felt the brunt of it yet because Switch has had a strong first party lineup so far but third parties are already turning away due to it's storage limitations.
such a shame.
also stupid as fuck to try and push digital but then have shit memory.
breath of the wild ate up too much on my wii u. should have bought physical so i could at least have made something back off that piece of shit.
Hey so there is another one out there!
HOLY FUCKING CRINGE
the Wiiu was handled pretty bad. But I wouldn't say my worst purchase.
My worst purchase was backing Project Phoenix.
>Wii U's tech demos convinced people that the Wii U was much more powerful than 7th gen tech
>Then it turns out it's basically an overclocked PS3 and it's tech is completely outclassed by consoles released next year
>Then fans are treated to niche titles while the next major Zelda is pushed back so far it's dual released on the next console
>Then the major 3D Mario is basically an HD Co-op version of a 3DS title
>Then its Star Fox is an awful gimmicky remake of 64
>And no fucking Metroid
>Now anyone who bought it got a console that died faster than the Vita and anyone who waited for the next system will be getting better versions of the Wii U's best titles and a much better library
I feel sorry for those who bought a Wii U
No. I got one at launch and got my money's worth in the end. I'm an idort though so it was never my only option for games. Now my Xbone on the other hand probably is one of my worst purchases.
I want to play tropical freeze and yoshi's wooly world. Mario maker would have been fun during it's peak, but I don't know if it's worth it now.
Do you think that Wii U games can be ported to another system? The 2 screen thing is so unique DS lol I don't know if they can be playable outside of that. Or were Wooly World and Tropical freeze set up so you didn't need the second screen?
>Business Insider
lol, but I don't blame him honestly. I got a ton of mileage out of my Wii U only because I was asked to bring it to every party with friends because of 8-player smash. I only thought W101, Tropical Freeze, and XCX were excellent out of the entire library.
At least the WiiU had HDD support. We'll see if the switch is worth it's weight in gold once it moves out of it's honeymoon phase.
Woolly World is on the 3DS
I cant even be mad that Starfox Zero was so damn short.. Starfox Guard was downright amazing. SfZero was like the bonus game I got by buying Starfox Guard.
I only have a ___vita_
>Splatoon
>Xenoblade X
>Bayonetta 2
>Smash
Those four games alone make Wii U a better purchase than all its competitors, including the Switch.
Hell, Xenoblade X is almost worth the Wii U price tag on its own.
>Underpowered
>only about a dozen good exclusives, which is way lower than consoles that came before or after it
>terrible third party support
>region locking
>Virtual console was unimpressive for most of its lifespan
>no Metroid, no Zelda until the end of its lifecycle
>3D World was very good, but not as good as previous 3D Marios
>Finally get a new Star Fox and it fucking sucks.
Anyone who defends the WiiU as a good system is lying to themselves, and I say this as someone who love Nintendo.
Like 98% of the WiiU games can be played gamepad only... so they could all be easily ported with little to no change. Since they are all made to run single screen.
>Defending the wiiu
Guys , switch exist
You can throw the faccade
Just cry about it , release everything
>Switchtard self conscious about half the consoles library being available on a hacked, cheaper console
I enjoyed the hell out of BotW, WWHD, Smash 4, MK8, 3D World. I'm planning on getting Xenoblade X soon, too.
I'm pretty happy with it. I might hack it and tack on an external for Wii/Emulated shit, too.
The only reason I'm getting a Switch on Christmas is Xenoblade 2.
