I find it harder to go back to Sonic Adventure than Sonic Adventure 2. It just feels like SA2 aged way better. This is coming from someone who actually likes the mech stages though.

I played SA1 for the first time recently and I spent from 30 minutes to an entire hour trying to catch Froggy in the first Big level until I finally snapped and looked up how to do it. Why the fuck did they think it was okay to force the player to use a completely different action (holding down or something) which you don't need to catch the regular fish with is beyond me. The in-game instructions in the help page didn't help because they only listed keyboard controls, too.

The engine improved but everything else was rushed. Shadow needs more than 4 stages.
If they modded Adventure 2 to have returning Adventure stages, it'd be perfect.

I think my problem with Adventure is the only stages I really enjoy are most of Sonic's and some of Tails's. Everything else I was either indifferent on or absolutely hated. SA2 has a higher quantity of good, even great stages. I agree that Shadow needed more stages though.

Mania was disappointing compared to 3&K Complete. It had too much speed, to little platforming, leading to long "tube" pathways and becoming linear just for the rolling speed spectacle.
