its /thread OP.

Sunshine is close though.

will there ever be a romhack for sm64 that makes the camera a normal 3d game camera? really want to replay it but the thought of using c-buttons or even worse, an analog stick mapped to c buttons, is a real turn off. out of all the autistic things people do to that game, youd think they'd have made a functional camera for it by now.

>will there ever be a romhack for sm64...

the answer for all forms of the question is increasingly becoming yes.

sunshine made you feel like you were actually on a tropical island paradise.

peach castle made you feel like you were exploring the worlds of paintings.

the latter wins because that feeling is just so unique and dare I say, unrivaled.

The camera is fine though.

I know you say that, and you probably believe it, but it really isn't. It really, really, really isn't.

Galaxy for me.

64 hands down.
It's obvious after Sunshine that they never even tried having a hub, which is a shame.

it isn't great, it's actually quite outdated after 30 years so I would agree that a romhack would help.

20 years. had you feeling old there,
eh?

UR

>20 years. had you feeling old there,

no because the first thing i thought when i read that is "this guy's full of baloney, it's only been 20"

I would hope everyone here would logically be able to deduce that the N64 wasn't around in 1987, user.

i think galaxy had the best aesthetic over all but it's really hard to choose between the hubworlds of super mario 64, sunshine and galaxy

The observatory.

SM64 castle is empty

people were calling bullshit that oddysey was 10 years old a few weeks ago, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You have to love Sunshine's tropical vacation vibe. Whenever I think of the GameCube in general, I think of warm, clear tropical water.

a somehow comforting loneliness

For some reason I have this really vivid memory of emulating sunshine at 60fps in like 2014 at 1080p and now I go back and try and it really is 30fps at whatever native resolution (480?) and i just dont feel it anymore man

this guy gets it.

smg2

sunshine remastered with just graphics tweaked would be a pre-order for me.

sunshine probably is, right?

GC games just had gorgeous water effects. Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Wave Race, etc.

you mean galaxy

Pretty sure it came out in 2002.

w-wait guys! What about m-me???

snore

Odyssey had the best hub world for sure!

>buy Mario Galaxy 2
>can't wait for more comfy Rosalina stuff!
>get this fat nigger instead

I liked SM64's better. It was fun to explore the mysteries of the castle, which felt like a level in itself

galaxy 2 is so fuckin garbage, even the designs aged like shit compared to the first. there is nothing as dumb as that in the first game, and there is somehow loads of even dumber shit in the game

>Rosalinafags get BTFO
Based Nintendo

This

Neat!

heh, mario probably felt the same way

Sunshine, because it was set as an actual "world", with NPCs doing things as if it was a real place and a lot of details and secrets to find.
64 had probably the most original concept, but it was pretty empty.
Galaxy lacked exploration, but it still had enough charm and a good soundtrack to make it memorable.
Galaxy 2 was trash, completely lazy and uninspired.
