The Dead rising franchise is in good hands

The Dead rising franchise is in good hands.

If you look at the new studio director for capcom vancouver, he developed Prototype.

If you look at the previous guy that was recently let go, he developed Kinect sports.
Yes the previous director that worked on dead rising only had experience in fucking Kinect games.

Now look at prototype, if you look at the achievements to the game there is an achievement for killing 53,596 infected.

In dead rising 1 there is an achievement for killing 53,594 zombies.

This was a trend that started with valve in left 4 dead 2 when they added dead rising Easter eggs.

Do you think a guy who made prototype can bring back the series to what it once was?

At least this guy fucking knows what dead rising is about.

Can't possibly do a worse job at least. I liked Prototype a lot just too bad they fucked up the second one by making Mercer evil.

We won't even hear about the game in a while

capcom will find a way to fuck it up

Good thing he only made the first game.

Depends.
Dead Rising is either one of the following:
Arcade Survival Horror
Action Power Fantasy

The former is Dead Rising 1. It's challenging, even frustrating, almost requires multiple playthroughs to even manage to unlock overtime, tense, yet also supremely satisfying. When you learn everything the mall has to offer it becomes much easier.

Dead Risings' 2-4 are the latter. While there are more zombies and more things to kill, the overall tensity of the situation is lessened. The areas are too huge as well, meaning the small secrets you can find like the katana just outside the smoothie shop in DR1 don't really happen as much.

I want a Dead Rising 1 style game, especially considering how more "hardcore" survival horrors like Re7 are making a comeback.

please tell me this faggot is fired

>literally every franchise is being run into the ground
>Capcom has an awful rep now

I don't think the next one would sell even if it was decent.

Did you read the OP?

Yeah he left to go work on sims games.

Dead Rising is fucking dead user

i hope dead rising doesn't come back, they've done nothing but increasingly fuck it up after the first game.

This thread just makes me want Prototype 3. Fuck you Activision.

I feel like if the new studio director worked on prototype he might have a good grasp on what the series is supposed to be.

I feel like Capcom Vancouver has lost the way completely and Capcom HQ management is even worse. Just let the series fucking die already.

If the dead rising franchise dies with deadrising 4 I'td be so fucked up

Prototype was boring and buggy as fuck, though. Unless the PC version got shafted, why would that be a good thing

I played it on the 360, didn't have any problems with it as far as I know.

The game itself was pretty good though, better than the 2nd game at least.

Uh... mercer wasnt in the second game, he wasnt even the main character of the first game, mercer was dead before you even started playing. You play as the virus, mercer was the first person it consumes so it thinks its him for awhile. The virus was always 'evil.'

Frank west was already dead

Dead Rising 2 still had its fair share of platforming towards secrets to get the LMG.
Competent AI armed with rifles made the game easy though.
3's open cityscape really killed the need to look for specialized areas to collect loot. Made much worse with the locker system.

How did capcom know Tim bennison (prototype creator) was in Canada though?

I wonder how that went down.

Left 4 dead 2 came out AFTER prototype though.

Could it just be that prototype just straight up referenced dead rising?

Must've been a mistake on OP's part, L4D1 had the original reference

Both games seem to have their similarities in terms of art and story.

>multiple playthroughs to unlock overtime
really? why? I thought all you have to do is go to the helipad

He meant to get to overtime in your first try you have to do multiple playthroughs to get better at the game.

The game wasn't easy to complete when you're playing for the first time.

the game wasn't particularly hard though, I did almost everything in my first playthrough

Did you use a guide?

The only thing that would prevent you from getting to overtime on your first playthrough is if you were compelled to save all the survivors you come across. You have more then enough time to do cases and then also save a few people/fight a few psychos. The difficulty always came in people jumping in at level 1 and trying to 100% the game on their first try.

>The difficulty always came in people jumping in at level 1 and trying to 100% the game on their first try.

Why did people do this in the first place? casuals are fucking retarded.

I don't like time limits

Because for some people the appeal to videogames was to beat them entirely as a feat, an act of skill and perseverance. Not for fun. They don't enjoy the game for what it is, they play it for the achievement of beating it. Like someone who doesn't like sports, but enjoys the "feel" of winning.

Then this game isn't for you. faggot

They said they're looking for jobs and post an image of dead rising.

What could this mean?

no

the survivors I missed were all the ones that Otis doesn't tell you, I hate that shit. only needed 5 more survivors for the saint trophy.

Literally the only thing Capcom Vancouver does/is allowed to do is Dead Rising and mobile games. There's not much it could be.

>The Dead rising franchise is in good hands.
as long as its not made by Japs, its not in good hands

Not true, if you give it to japs right now they would fuck it up even more.

Jap

Isnt that the hipster numale liberal that made Evolve

Must be another one

Someone leak some info

frank spend new year eve with zombies
again

New director doesn't mean shit since it's Capcom -heads the one who wants to sell dead rising to western audience.

If it didn't mean shit they wouldn't let go a guy who only developed kinect sports and then hire a guy who is familiar with games like dead rising.
