Society has slowed down development wise. I find in the past couple of years the ability to maintain a conversation in real life with someone and go out and enjoy socializing has been tarnished by the presence of technology seeping into every action and interaction we make. It wasn't quite so bad when we were still in the era of flip phones, but smartphones have made detaching from technology as a whole impossible and as a result we're collectively losing our individual personalities to the mixing pot of the internet as our ability to socialize becomes more and more stagnant.
