THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF THIS GAME
THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF THIS GAME
All you beta cucks talk all this shit. But do you honestly think you can’t balance a game better.
the game was fucked from the beginning with the focus on teamwork when the team is only 6 fucking players.
I miss TF2
Permaban
tl;dr
>blizzard goes straight into season 7 with absolutely no changes, oh except we buffed anas damage kek because people kept asking for that
>any changes that they will make to mercy, junkrat, and doomfist aka the big 3 ugly sores of this game right now, will be midseason
>AGAIN
god fucking dam blizzard are so fucking terrible at their job it's actually insane
>definately not a blizzard employee/phajeet from marketing company guys
>everyone is op
>i do not agree. I think everyone is op
An inbred Eastern European can manage to take his shitty game based off the WC3 engine and make every character picked at LEAST ONCE in a multi million dollar tournament.
Meanwhile, Blizzard Games and Riot Games, who have teams of dozens to hundreds of qualified developers, can't go a single competitive event without having over half their cast be considered so worthless they aren't even worth considering being picked.
These people have no fucking excuses. They are just awful. I'm half tempted to take up "game design" or whatever the fuck as a career, not because I actually want to do it but because i'm fucking violently ill of these absolute braindead monkey fuckers being unable to do something as basic as using a calculator when they make balance changes.
Somebody make an OWIDF bingo for when the ignorant gaming masses try to go up against shooter experts like Sup Forums.
>"You just suck."/"Git gud."
>Assumes person to be of low rank.
>"It's a team game!"
>"You're not playing [broken hero x] properly."
>"It's fun!"
>"The problem is toxic players like you."
>"It's only a year old! Give Blizzard time to work on it!"
>Assumes person to lack sexual partners, hygiene or employment
>"You're just mad your PC can't run it." Not even fucking joking, someone on Sup Forums used this """argument""".
>Appeal to popularity of the game and/or unpopulary of competing or comparable shooters
>"The lootboxes are just cosmetic."
>"[superior shooter game x] is outdated, granpa."
>"It would disrupt the flow/pacing of the game."
>"You try balancing 24 characters in an FPS!"
And of course:
>Waifu posting. [FREE SPACE]
in riot's case at least it's entirely intentional, you're forced to buy more shit by having your favorite characters get completely fucking trashed for months at a time
Wouldn't know. I'm pretty sure the reason balancing is so shit is because higher ups tell others to fuck off or compromises. There's always just general nepotism where certain people are always heard and ineptitude as well.
>e sports is a core aspect to online gaming and usually defines the life of a game
Meanwhile, after a decade...
Yes because I actually play the games.
>in riot's case at least it's entirely intentional
Only occasionally. Otherwise you can chalk it up to CertainlyT and RicklessAbandon just making awful decisions. If you see either of their names within a mile of your favorite characters design it's a death sentence. The only exceptions are when some saint at the office constantly slaps the dumb nigger CertainlyT on the wrist when he designs things (Warwick rework)
He's like George Lucas but without the actual creative talent.
>only 100 people
>yet they make 1 hero every 6 months
so are like 90 team members just useless Women in HR positions?
>E-Sports is the next level
There's a reason Icefrog is called the mad man. Since he has seemingly complete freedom regarding balance he can do all kinds of crazy balance changes and redesigns that neither Riot or Blizzard would dare to do in case of community backlash.
>"""only""" a team of 100
>A year since release and the balance is still shit
Niche fighting games with a 20-man development team release more balanced games
Mercy isn't getting nerfed because they don't want to lose all the female gamers
to be fair, a game like overwatch can never be perfectly balanced, some characters will always be out of roster, people think they want balance but really they dont.
blizzard and riot needs to balance for casuals as well as pros thats why the full champ pool will never be played competitively. they also use balance patch to sell skins because people buy skins for op champs.
icefrog basically says git gud to the casuals and only on very few occassions balance for lower tier players
To be fair, you have to have a high IQ to understand Overwatch
The industry is shittier than you could even imagine. If you don't like it now you will only drive yourself insane if you attempt.
ook ook eek ekk
*holds mouse1 in ur general direction*
>so much content and events
>4 qp/comp maps (implying anyone plays arcade shit after they get their weekly gachaboxes)
>4 heroes (none of them even relevant)
>5 events (3 of which are seasonal rehashes)
>in an entire fucking year
maybe if you count """limited""" skins that you can only get through grinding away or shelling out money like a good goy.
only two (2) skins weren't limited, and one of them is just a reminder of the other. Even counting promo shit that's 4.
Fucking blizzdrones seriously think their artificial esports scene won't die as soon as blizzturd stops pumping money up its asshole
>They care about the community
There's trying to make the game good by allowing more creative control for the end user like in a normal FPS like dedicated servers, self-admins, small sub communities and balance.
And then there's begging for more skins and voicelines before the character gets nerfed.
don't you have a general
Region banned for reasons beyond my control.
I know that feel (sometimes)
>some heroes are for beginners
>some heroes are for more experienced users and the better the player is the better the hero perfroms
>meanwhile this is bad and user wants to balance the game for the top 1% of the players instead of everyone
>meanwhile dota has high pick% of overall cast in pro play but in casual play they are literally giving the least played heroes free items and restricting randoming to only those "selected" heroes
>blizzard and riot needs to balance for casuals as well as pros thats why the full champ pool will never be played competitively. they also use balance patch to sell skins because people buy skins for op champs.
I just noticed it's the reverse for certain heroes who are off-meta in Dota, just look at Leshrac. He gets a staff with unique animations and three sets with two of them borrowing the staff's animation and yet they all came out when he was off-meta due to Edict's damage type getting changed and E becoming shit again.
well sure off meta heroes can get new items but it doesnt necesaarily mean people are buying them. You can see slarks immortal price going down a free fall because the hex change made him dogshit as well as AM being buffed with bf gold reduction and talent changes. Im sure you can go on the market to find many more examples of item prices falling for heroes that got nerfed in 7.07 and immortal prices increase for heroes that got buffed
You will never had everything in a meta played, there will always be good and bad. The problem is when you hit the extreme aspects of good or bad.
If a character is so good they're always used then it's poorly designed. If a character is so bad they're only ever used as a joke then it's also bad.
if you think that dota 2 is being handled properly then explain this
The game gets more complicated and unforgiving every patch that its hard even for long time players to adapt. I'm not saying they need to drastically dumb down the game but when more depth, mechanics etc. are added every big patch it just starts to become a chore because they need to spend so much time just to be decent at the game. It's heading into SC territory
It might change after this latest patch though. Now that unique attack modifiers are gone and the regen formulas have been revised. Slowly but surely all odd exceptions and bloated mechanics are getting weeded out. We might see more stable gameplay from here on, I highly doubt he's gonna come up with even more new concepts in the near future.
You know removing UAM opens up heroes to even more item choices and item combinations right. Thats definitely not making the game easier
>bring up the fact that somehow people still have no idea how to play this shallow game after a year
>"some of us have lives :)"
what you don't understand is that mr. lizard has full control over dota and can do literally whatever the fuck he wants
the shit that flies in your average dota balance patch would absolutely not be allowed to happen in any other game with a large corporate entity backing it
maybe turbo mode will help. haven't played the game in a year though and it seems the game is all in on becoming a spectator esport.
people need to give up on overwatch being a real esport. we've known how blizz has balanced for years with WoW. It doesn't need to be a competitive game imo
>select beginner
>play game
>smurfs everywhere
>5 minutes queue to play vs bots
yeah it's really hard to get into for new players. to the point where I tell people it's not even worth it. go play league or ow or even heroes of the storm or something. only way to stay sane is playing with a full party of people you know.
Not even wrong. Killing casual champs would turn their bleeding playerbase into a quitter tsunami
I honestly don't even who plays Overwatch anymore
I've heard this meme argument before and it still makes no sense.
Do you honest to god believe the suit that invests in Riot Games and Tencent who barely touches a computer because he's too busy snorting coke, buying yachts and experimental vehicles to stave off his midlife crisis really goes up to the development team and says "Don't nerf Riven/Yasuo/Genji, you'll make virgin neckbeards upset"
It's sounds like hokey bullshit to me.
I'm sure the main reason is, it runs worse on potatoes.
