People shit on it but DMC4 had better gameplay and Nero plays better than Dante in DMC3. Only downside is that DMC4 Dante doesn't have as many fun weapons as he did on DMC3

3 has a shit pc port, but it cant be fixed with mods (look on pcgamingwiki). 1 runs well if you skip the cutscenes (the game freezes if they finish for some reason). Just watch them separately on youtube as you play the game.
Don't know about 2, but that game is garbage anyway.

No it isn't. I'd never played 4 before SE so I started off with Vergil. Going through the game with him is a chore because of the reused levels. Also, the final boss sucks and so does the music.

People shit on DMC4 because it has the same shitload of backtracking as DMC1 and DMC2.
Honestly, in terms of pacing, DMC 3 and the Reboot are the best ones.
