Do you agree?
Wii U has been one of the worst purchases of my life

Yes and especially when the Switch got released
How many times do you plan on making this exact same thread over and over again? I want to know because I am getting sick of hiding it every time it 404s
I’d agree had I been retarded enough to buy one. I’m just looking forward to 2 years from now for all the “Switch has been one of the worst purchases of my life” op-eds.
EA is already backing away from the Switch. They’re going to lose third-party support just like the Wii U did, so I hope Switch owners are looking forward to nothing but Kirby, Yoshi, and ARMS rehashes.
Nope.
I bought it for Smash4, XenobladeX and Zelda got em all (in the end)
Go back to your daily "why haven't you bought a Switch yet" threads
I haven't bought a switch...So why would I go into a switch shill thread?
Now that's just pathetic...
Worth it just for Smash.
If you buy a nintendo console, you deserve to be cucked.
If I look up how many times you've autistically reposted this, how many results will I get?
>the bought a switch for SMT x FE
I couldn't agree more baka desu senpaitachi
It didn't come out that long ago, the games will come.
WiiU.Fuck.
My $33,000 student loans are worse.
>it's okay when nintenbros make threads every day begging you to buy their new system
You truly are retarded, huh?
here, you'll enjoy this thread more
Why don't you own a switch tho?
>dude just fall for their shit twice lmao
>dat deflection
No, because it was a supplement to my PC. Played all the multiplats on PC while the WiiU (for the time) had the best and most worthwhile exclusives in the generation. I also really fucking loved gamepad implementation. Made it stick out among the competition which were more or less pre-built PCs with weak components.
No. I own other game consoles and a PC, and never owned a Wii, so I was able to catch up on older Wii titles while playing the exclusives the system had. The gamepad was still a wonky, bad gimmick, though.
Nintendo games are the only games I enjoy anymore. If anything, my PS4 was a huge waste of money considering it's more expensive and I bought multiple $60 games that I quit after a day.
After seeing the Switch's first year line up yes it does make me salty that I bought a Wii U all the way back in 2013
This. My Wii U has the most playtime of all three consoles. I even sold my Xbone because it's been collecting dust for 2 years now. PC + Wii U is the best combo.
No, best combo is skip the Wii U and go PC + Switch
Look mom he posted it again!
Yeah wii u was dumb
>I also really fucking loved gamepad implementation
When it worked, it worked really well. Splatoon, ZombiU and XBX stand out.
ZombiU is terrible and XCX barely used it
I actually just got one for a really good bargain a couple of weeks ago and it opens up a lot of options for playing good games. (not owning a wii also helps) It's two consoles in one with the huge virtual console too. What's not to like?
The Wii U was pretty disappointing almost nothing for 2 years, then as soon as it started getting good it was already too late and everyone had moved on
I do agree but we're posting on nintendogaf so everyone will say the wiiu was good instead of the pile of dogshit it actually was
I wouldn't say it's the worst but I wouldn't even say I didn't regret it
You knew what you were getting when you bought a Wii U. It never had any hype or momentum, and there was no reason to assume it'd be anything other than a flop. You shouldn't feel disappointed by what you got, you got what you should have expected from the beginning.
Not me, it was my most played console for a good 2 year stretch, I've used it for several hundred hours and have a few dozen games on it if you include VC and eShop games. I'm actually considering buying a second one just in case mine ever fails.
No. That was my xbox one. I never got a switch and i never will.
>it was my most played console for a good 2 year stretch
kek, I can remember 2 year stretches where it literally got no games
Fuck. I meant wii u. I don't know why i wrote switch
Not at all. Hyrule Warriors alone made me put more time on that system than any system I've owned as an adult.
Nah I had fun with it.
For me, it was the PS4
All the good games were on PS3, no need to buy PS+ and no good replacement for Nintendo games. In fact I wished I never got rid of my Wii in the first place to get a PS3.
Fuck Gamestop
Nah, I played a lot of fun games on it, it wasn't a very successful console but personally I got my money's worth out of it
No. It had some objectively good points to it. Free online, backwards compatibility with the previous system, most affordable compared to it''s competitors at the time, lot of solid games.
>I played a lot of fun games on it,
such as?
backwards compatibility is a meme, the N64 and SNES didn't have it and neither does Switch
Nope. I bought a Switch on release and just recently got my my second game for it.
Nah, I made good memories with my friends playing the console.
Hell, we still do play smash every other week at my place.
3d world, splatoon, MK8, DKC:TF, SSB4, WWHD (never played the original), and a few others like Sonic Lost World, Pikmin, Wooly World
Also it was my first nintendo console so I was able to play all the good stuff from the wii on it for the first time.
No absolutely not. The Wii U had plenty of great games. Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, DKC: TF, Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, etc. Could it have been better? Sure. But it was fine. That's the reason I buy Nintendo consoles, even when they fuck up horribly it's still gonna be worth it because they're always gonna put out some great games.
Ok? What does that have to do with WiiU in fact having BC with Wii and GameCube?
Most of those will be on switch so you can skip wii U without missing anything. Meaning it's worthless.
not him but I got 20+ hours on DKTF, Pikmin 3, Bayo1+2 w101, 50+ on XenoX, Mario Kart and Splatoon and like 800 on Smash
and a couple of indie releases, but yeah the console was terrible but whatever, will pirate whatever I didnt play like TMS (it's good appearently?), Mario Maker and some third party games (Black Flag, Rayman)
That argument is retarded. You could say owning a gamecube was pointless because all the games got emulated on dolphin, so you could have played them all for free. I'm not gonna wait 5+ years to play the games I want to save a few hundred bucks.
>5+ years
pokken came out last year actually
Yeah and Pokken is trash, great example bud. I mean if you want to get real pedantic here the Wii U is hacked, so you can play all these games for free on it whereas on the Switch they're $60. So it's not like you're really even saving money.
And Splatoon 1 which is better balanced, more fun and literally more alive than 2.
The Wii U could even better it's still had a good library of games and I don't regret purchasing it. I have an xbox one I bought because fuck it I'm an adult The only 2 games worth having on it or Cup head(Which is recent) and Killer instinct.
>game with 2 years of balance patches is more balanced than game with 5 months of balance patches
Nope.
Smash 4 was shit. BOTW was shit. Hardware was a decade outdated on release.
Letting this shit go for 100 bucks to some sucker later today.
still feels cucked for buying this shit in the first place
>Yakuza 1 and 2 HD
nice. does it have much in the way of gamepad features?
Which ones?
I literally bought one for Zelda. I waited three fucking years after buying one. And then it gets a superior version on the new console. Fuck Nintendo I'm never buying a new console again
>mfw Fatal Frame 5 still hasn't gone on sale
Fucks sake. I want to support the series but I can't justify paying 50 bucks for a digital version of a game. There were rumors of Limited Run making an NTSC physical release but that doesn't seem like it'll pan out.
nope
best purchases of my life
and now I can even emulate gamecube games on my gamepad or inject wii games without pirating vwii
Or maybe you're just a fucktard.
>cucked
>selling his consoles
He's some kind of tard alright.
I picked up a refurb for $120
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pikmin, Wonderful 101 and Bing Bing Wahoos (especially Color Splash) have made it more than worth to me just on their own.
Though I'm also an adult with a real job, not some angsty 18-24 year old with no real income, so the cost was pretty negligible in the first place.
>mfw didn't fall for the Wii U meme
"Hurr durr who cares about sales!"
Go eat a dick Sup Forums
Every single person who says "Yeah I always knew the Wii U sucked" was making "Why don't you own a Wii U?" threads in 2014.
>feeling bad for people who work black friday
>they work the most terrible conditions
>it's cold and they can't fuck off for 90 percent of their time at work because they will have customers the whole time
he knows they're inside right? he's the idiot who had to stand in line in the cold. the only thing worse than retailfags that complain is people who feel sympathetic for retailfags. i bet he doesn't shed a tear everytime he sends a text on his sweatshop iphone or "feel ashamed" every time he gets in his car because a steel worker might have been a little hot when pouring the shit out of the crucible.
>im a huge nintendo fan
>they just make realy bad consoles with no games and i regret purchasing them
textbook drone
The Wii U has a great library.
I don't regret buying a Wii U because of the games library on it. It has a couple games that are up in my top 10.
The wonderful 101 is still one of my favorite games ever, and was my sole reason for wanting a Wii U. Xenoblade x is up there too.
Even though the games released toward the end of its lifespans were few and far between, and not very good. Personally the games released early were stellar and totally worth it. The implementation of the gamepad though was pretty shitty. The only game I played that had a cool implementation to it was xenoblade x. So that was a pretty huge wasted potential, but the games were still fun.
Wii U made me go from a Nintendo fan to not one. So yeah, it was pretty bad
Not one of the worst, had some REALLY good games but Nintendo just dropped the ball in so many areas, including the name of the damn thing. Switch looks much more appealing, hopefully it has more staying power. The Wii U had one good year and that was 2014
Why not hack the console and import a PAL copy? They got a physical English one. That way you're still supporting it and you get a physical copy. You'll have to pay an arm and a leg though, it's $90 used, 180 new with everything.
Any console justifies its purchase when I have 5 full length games for it. I still haven’t bought a PS4 as it’s only last guardian and bloodbourne for me
Splatoon 1 > Splatoon 2
MK8 > MK8 Deluxe
XCX > XC2
3D World > Odessey
and what are the 5 Wii U games?
>4 times
WOW HOLY SHIT THATS SO CRAZY HAHAHA WOW OMFG
>this is what newfags who just discovered the archive actually think
The Wii U has a great library.
Here’s a random question that’s not worth starting a whole thread for:
What’s the input lag like on emulated games on the Wii U if connected to an UHD tv?
I have a wii->hdmi dongle and the lag was awful but it’s upscaling 480 to something crazy.
Anyone have any idea?
No, I got one at launch and while the beginning was light on games it eventually got some good stuff released for it.
Miiverse was fun as fuck, and playing Splatoon online was good shit.
>less than 20 games
>a good 1/3 are actually shit or remasters
>great library
i miss 16 bit era
Splatoon
Tropical Dong
Bayo 2
Project zero
Mario kart
Xeno
Twilight princess because I actually hadn’t played it
Oh and sharing Super Mario Maker levels with my fellow Sup Forumsirgins was something worth experiencing
I hope they port it to Switch, SMM was some amazing shit.
Mario Kart and Twilight Princess aren't exclusives, why count multiplats for Wii U but not PS4?
I bought it at the end of it's life for $150, plus an additional $75 for three classic controllers and downloaded all the games for free. It was honestly worth it just for XBX, but my kids love it, and it doubles as an additional Netflix tablet.
I never said anything about exclusives - just games for the system. My rules over console choice and I already have a decent PC
Also: mario kart was exclusive at the time
While the long droughts between games sucked at the time, in retrospect I got a TON of use out of my Wii U.
>NSMBU
>Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
>Rayman Legends (Best Version)
>Pikmin 3
>Wonderful 101
>Wind Waker HD
>Bayonetta (Best port at the time)
>Bayonetta 2
>Mario Kart 8
>Tropical Freeze
>Smash Bros
>Hyrule Warriors
>Splatoon
>Mario Maker
>Wooley World
Plus a bunch of virtual console titles. I missed out on a couple of big ones too, like Pokken, 3D World, and TPHD.
It feels like I got my money's worth in the end, a lot of good times were had. No regrets.
That's his fault for buying something without a solid marketing campaign to tell him it's good.
He had no way of knowing.
Half of those aren't even exclusives.
Not at all.
I have a PS4, PS3, PSP, Wii, 3DS, DS, Vita ONE, Switch. WiiU is still the console where my family spent more time. My kids of course play a lot the whole WiiU library and is the console we use for youtube/netflix mostly because the gamepad is used also as controler and is very comfy.
I added homebrew and pretty much I can emulate SNES, NES, Genesis, GBA, GB, master sysme, Gamecube, Wii, etc. so is our main place to play.
Persona 5 is better than every Wii U game you listed though.
>yOU can PLAY IN 3dS its not EXCLUSIVE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
