It's pretty good, I found it as enjoyable as the original PS1 version.

HD is better. just dont play it in widescreen, unless you want the top/bottom cut off

It took necessary " shortcuts " due to the original master files of all the assets for REmake were gone and they had to basically reverse engineer the assets out of REmake and then sharpen them/filter them.

The HD version is acceptable but not the ideal way to play it. They botched some of the areas and the filter they used to upscale the backgrounds is very noticeable in places. If you do go with that version though, just make sure you don't use the new control scheme or widescreen cause it not only kills the gameplay, it also totally ruins the aesthetic.

IIRC, a few places have an animation in the background, like the water running in . Those animations look really pixelated compared to the rest of the background.
