What were CDPR thinking?

What were CDPR thinking?

Whats wrong with it?

Literally everything?
That it has shit balance and is worse with every patch?
That they have a few times bigger team than HS and still can't make as much content?

"people like this card minigame and people like online card games so we'd be stupid not to"

Turning Gwent into an online ccg was genius. The problem is that the game just isn't that interesting.

It was genius but the task was given to the biggest hacks i ever seen.

they listen to reddit feedback

>tfw game has a link to reddit in the fucking main menu
jesus christ

is the game still based on deploy abilities rather than continuous effects? are gold still an easy target for removal?

That their fanboys are rabid and will buy anything they make.

Yea Golds are no longer immune and the game has shitton of Deploy effects on each card that makes it more confusing.
While HS releases new expansion with a dungeon crawl mode and ton of new features, they made a shitty Halloween "even" aka 3 challenges against AI (you are given few cards you have to play IN EXACT ORDER to win) with two difficulties. And that's it.
And mind that Gwent team is 2-3 times bigger than HS.
CDPR are a fucking joke.

They went overboard with it. The idea was pretty solid too.

>buy
>Gwent is free
at least pretend not to be retarded

Sad, looks like all games are unable to turn their game into another shitfest just like HS.
like, if the Gwent team is that big then why the so extended periods of silence without content? is that they don't know that one of the key factors in a CCG is to keep constant contact with players?

>what are card packs

Implying Hearthstone is playable. Online card games are all terrible.

>That it has shit balance and is worse with every patch?
git gud

>is that they don't know that one of the key factors in a CCG is to keep constant contact with players?
Eh it's a long story and it wouldn't fit on your average Sup Forums post.
Basically game is not even 1/4 finished, even though it's in Open Beta (which is like a release for a F2P game).
HS took 6 years to develop and after it went into Beta, it almost didn't change at all. Only some few balance and bug fixed happened.
Meanwhile Gwent was reworked at least three times already. Every two months they change EVERY SINGLE CARD and waste manpower because they have no fucking idea what the game is supposed to be. They wanted to make it in less than a year after all.
Not to mention whole team is full of hacks:

Game Director hires "pro players" (with zero experience in game design or even other multiplayer games/ccg) just because they sit with him on a private Discord server and play Dota together.
Because of this e-sport is basically a huge VIP club. Every tournament has to be approved by CDPR and is even funded by them. Half of the participants are invited guests (aka CDPR or famous streamers' friends).
The biggest streamers are also part of the "team" that is sitting with CDPR and sucking their dicks so they have a monopoly on everything that is related to the game.

Not to mention game completely lost it's direction from beginning (when it was actually fun, but rough and needed polishing). Each card has a 10 different effects so you have to go through every single one in Collection to learn what it does etc. Add the fact that not everyone has time for it and game changes every two months, and you have a game that no casuals want to play.
So basically game is designed only for top 1000 people maybe who all are part of one team/group and are sucking each other/CDPR's dick.

How how different is it compared to the game in the Wticher 3? One really stupid thing was that it was set up so you win every game if play everyone you run into right away while playing the main story. Also the game was impossible to lose, the other player gives up his best card but you don't have to give up anything? I don't understand how they made it into a pvp game.

That's incredibly sad.
I mean I remember have fun with Skellige when the game came in open beta during their first days.
looking now it's kinda good to see they are keep adding new stuff but yet still mess with the one already existing in game.
I think it only needed a bit more interaction between players as in most situations you were playing a solitaire-like deck and sometimes you do something against one of your opponents move.

Not to mention game is fucking ugly.
Only artwork keeps up but most of it is too similar to others so it's easy to confuse cards in their small version if you don't know them well.
And the board is the most disgusting in any CCG i ever saw in my life.
Seriously they hire retards for this job.

Basically they removed all the fun parts and increased the shitty parts.

I liked it so much until the open beta. Real shame it went to shit.

I personally really like it (is the only CCG I could play, HS and SV sucked cock to me) but it's incredible obvious they have no clue what the fuck they're doing. Instead of just making cards and archetypes and building up from there they make more and more cards which ends making others obsolete.

Game needs another leader and for them to stop fucking up the cards. Also, make other boards depending on who you're playing against or something (like with Nilfgaard is more regal and shit, against Northern Realms looks like a tavern, etc...).

I find this game boring I want to see cards smashing each other with pretty effects
