Thinking FE genealogy of the holy war is the best FE is childish.
Realizing that FE Fates is better means shows your mature.
Thinking FE genealogy of the holy war is the best FE is childish
>Implying the best FE isn't Samurai Warriors 4 Empires
Fates > Awakening
>FE Fates
>Best
Maybe if you have brain damage...
Fates could have been pretty cool, it could have been a three part story with an interconnected plot that comes together for a big finale. But nope, you've got two throwaway plots that you need to buy at least one at $40 to even have the chance to buy the actual canon story for an extra $30.
If any other company had pulled this shit you faggots would be boycotting and protesting. But because it's Nintendo no one even blinks.
Fates is a lazy money grab, and the only positive thing to come out of it is Road Taken.
Don't forget that the real ending isn't even in that $30 one, you have to buy a set of DLC filled with PvP P2W skills that shows what happened AFTER the "canon" path and how they really put the antagonist to rest.
It was the first time I'd ever seen the true ending to a game locked behind DLC.
sure, whatever helps you sleep at night nu-fag, the rest of us will remain in reality.
the best FE depends on what you like most about FE. a storyfag will have a very different opinion from a gameplayfag
Not always. I liked Fates' gameplay, but shitty practices like the above prevent it from being really great. The games were a mess as a whole, even with Conquest's maps dragging out of the gutter that the others are in.
T. Awakeningfag
>means shows your mature
Are you okay OP ?
>nu-fag
>not using the correct term
I wonder who is really the new fag?
>shows your mature.
My mature what?
Why do people not like shadow dragon remake? I played it and thought it was alright.
Conquest maybe but Birthright is hot garbage.
The filename shows it was used purely for shitposting in FEW threads, ignore him.
Conquest has better gameplay than Genealogy no doubt, but the story hampers Conquest while Genealogy has the best setting in the series. Liking one over the over depends if you value gameplay or story.
>not SoV remake
For
>and the only positive thing to come out of it is Road Taken
honestly, excluding Awakening obviously save the franchise; I'd argue the increase quality of the ost is probably the only notable thing to come out of the 3DS era of Fire Emblem. Oh and it was nice having voices supports in Echoes.
Bad visuals
It's a really solid game and I think most people like it. I guess it's too basic to attract much fanfare.
>WHY ARE WE KILLING PEOPLE IN A WAR STOP IT
>I LITERALLY FORBID MY ARMY FROM KILLING PEOPLE IN BATTLE
>*lucksacks out of being forced to kill anyone several times over the course of the game*
>OH NO THE RAINBOW SAGE I ONLY JUST MET TWO MINUTES AGO DIED LIKE HE SAID HE WANTED TO I'M LITERALLY CRYING
>OH NO SOMEBODY I ONLY JUST MET TWO MINUTES AGO DIED IN A WAR WHEN I WASN'T LOOKING I'M LITERALLY CRYING
>Fuck you Shura I'll slit your throat and take your boots lol
>LET'S INVADE HOSHIDO NOW BUT REMEMBER NO KILLING LET'S TAKE LITERALLY EVERYONE IN THEIR ARMY AS PRISONERS
>If any other company had pulled this shit you faggots would be boycotting and protesting. But because it's Nintendo no one even blinks
So you weren't in any of the pre-release threads?
>Fates is a lazy money grab, and the only positive thing to come out of it is Road Taken
Or the entriely of Conquest.
>tfw Conquest is the absolute pinnacle of Fire Emblem, regardless of how much the brainlets storyfags cry and moan about it
Feels fucking good.
seems like storyfags are becoming the majority these days.
Gameplay wise yes. Plot wise ehhhhhh...
Nah, people just want characters and motivations that are consistent and make sense within the setting, something Fates lacks and other games like SS, Awakening an SoV have.
It had some strong moments and the most robust unit mechanics in the series, but overall I think Radiant Dawn was a little more solid. While they were both unfinished messes with loads of cut content, Radiant Dawn managed to be cohesive and have enormous amounts of good content with only a minor amount of bad stuff, with a plot that was barely passable. It had some severe unit availability issues but worked multiple armies and sides of a conflict into a single game in a way that felt like it worked really well in spite of the idiotic plot devices.
I hope not. The LAST thing I want to see FE Switch become is Birthright 2: Shadows of Awakening. If they really go down that road, I honest to god hope they sell two different versions again.
feels like they won't abandon this separation of casual and hardcore but at the same time the switch to another console makes two separate games unlikely
>implying
I just want a game that's good all around, ffs you people act like you can only have 1.
"Gameplayfags" I see touting conquest as the best thing ever, story doesn't matter, FE would be better as grids and text, units are just functions and who cares about the reason why anything is happening or who dies other than how strong they are.
"Storyfags" act like gameplay doesn't even matter and only how pretty shit is and how nice the characters are matters.
Is it an issue to have standards and expect both? Do I have to pick a fucking side?
I'm getting ready to start Awakening as my first Fire Emblem. Is there a difficulty curve to these sort of games? I remember trying to get into Advanced Wars back in the day, but just couldn't seem to grasp that sort of game play effectively. Any tips?
That's only happening because ISIS thought it was a good idea to release a game with good gameplay and dogshit story and one with dogshit gameplay and good story one after the other. Of course people are gonna choose sides.
Normal is pretty simple, and you can always pick casual mode if you are really having trouble.
They just wanted to please everyone with classic emblem and modern emblem.
Don't be a pussy and go with Classic Hard. The game is piss easy to break and lets you grind anytime anyway.
>The bad guys cant be the bad guys if im with the bad guys
>Everyone on the internet: NOHR IS CAN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG. FOR THE HORDE!
TLP and crimson arm are better than fates and those are shitty Romhacks.
One of which isn't even done.
IIRC an interview said they just wanted to make something for everyone. Huh, I guess something for everyone means that everyone has a tribe to ally with and fling shit at the other.
That is so Kefkaesque
The best FE is Cipher
t. Revelationsfag
You’ll likely not run into serious problems with Awakening if you’ve played a strategy game before. The beginning has moderate difficulty after the tutorial then after your favorite units start getting levels the game becomes a joke until much later on. Just take it slow and don’t try to use each and every single unit the game gives you
So Classic Emblem fans don't like gameplay?
Have you seen FE4
Ignoring the obvious joke about not picking a side, Revelations has neither. Shit story, shit gameplay, and overall it's a fucking terrible package.
>make multiple versions of Fates
>Conquest is explicitly marketed as the difficult option for series veterans with an easy option for newer fans in the form of Birthright
You're a faggot who just wants to bitch about non-fates games aren't you? I never mentioned any.
Check twitter, we got a clean version
I thought it was obvious that I was talking about Conquest and Echoes.
Who gives a fuck about Birthright, it's inoffensive and forgettable in both story and gameplay.
They really screwed the pooch with Nohr. They could have made both sides deeper and morally ambiguous or just made Nohr perfectly fine with using strength to conquer and serve their ambitions and let you be complicit in their actions in order to serve your family and country. Instead it’s all just a dumb mess
BR doesn't have a good story just a servicable one.
The story is just plain retarded, revelation moreso than the first two after playing it last.
I was only halfway through revelations when echoes came out and after experiencing that I just gave up on rev, it just felt insulting.
I know you're baiting, but I think Fates tends to get hate from all sides due to it's timing. The 'old' fans obviously would hate it for following Awakening, but the Awakening fans also seem to hate on it a lot. I can guess this is either just being a 'disappointing sequel' to them, or because they can use Fates to deflect from the hate Awakening used to get from the 'old' fans.
Personally I fully admit the story is ass, but I don't take it seriously and have never played FE for the story. To me the gameplay/maps being boring is a bigger problem.
Actually it's probably because if they gave Nohr a good story then why would anyone ever play Birthright?
Besides Takumi its characters are one note and boring goody two shoes.
Yaeh you're that faggot who has a persecution complex about Echoes. Fuck off lad, I don't need to hash this out with you again.
Let it go, just because you're butthurt about people liking Echoes doesn't mean that they're the same ones who shit on Fates and Awakening for years.
>implying Gaiden ever had fans
Fucking kek
The people liking SoV are newer fans than even you.
This
I like 2/3rds of Fates as well as Echoes
>there's only one guy who criticizes Echoes
Talking about persecution complex.
The Conquest/Echoes comparison is certainly more appropriate than the Con/Bit one, despite what IS intended.
Birthright is only inoffensive if you don't consume any of the extra material detailing Corrin's past in Nohr.
Explain to me the appeal of maps like the ninja rape cave, the fox chapter, and the wind riding map. I do not understand.
It’s a misunderstood gem, like all the NES sequels that are extremely different for no reason other than they weren’t sure what people wanted from a sequel
They’d play it because it’s the casual one and because people who have never heard or them would be more likely to grab the bright colored one. I doubt anyone is actually choosing Birthright now for the story, they’re both trash, Revelations just has an added layer of dumb with the no killing thing
Good Gameplay
People hate boring old rout maps so a quirky gimmick keeps them engaged
>I have this magic mirror that can show you that Garon in reality is a slime monster
>but it breaks after one use
>let me use it when only Corrin is around
>Holy shit Corrin fell into valla, I can use this opportunity to explain everything instead of being mysterious
>nah maybe not
>We have to conquer hoshido, killing millions of people along the way just so garon can sit on a chair
>its the only way corrin
>why don't I just lead everyone into valla without saying anything so I can explain everything to them?
>no that would be to smart
The whole curse plot point was honestly fine, it could have worked if they actually introduced valla into the plot by a myraid chance, like Corrin falling into Valla on Conquest mode. What pisses me off is what they decided to do with these plot points:
>Azura is literally retarded
>Garon is already a blob monster instead of being another Takumi situation
>The fates siblings follow garons treachery to willingly despite clearly being good, especially Elise
Being different doesn't make it good. It plays like shit.
>Revelationsfag
No such person exists.
>foxes rushing you
>throw their hands up and say "no tagsies!" making them invulnerable for your turn
>use Pass to mitigate any possible formation you have to gang up on and pick off whoever they please
This was anti-fun
>the ninja rape cave
Challenges you by forcing a party split and rewards you for navigating the whole way through both sides and keeping Saizo alive. Also encourages aggression or the use of multiple characters in order to deal with stat lowering.
>the fox chapter
Challenges you to approach the map differently as your frontline becomes less effective and you’re forced to group tightly or approach it from other angles
>the wind riding map
It’s just fun
No, but there's only one as obnoxious and shitty as you. Most other people can articulate dislike for it without resorting to "classicfags vs new fans"
>ninja rape cave
Great map, you have to be clever with the moving walls.
>the fox chapter
Lousy map but it's easy to cheese.
>and the wind riding map
They went overboard with the gimmick but it can be fun.
IT'S JUST FUN :^)
Nice falseflag, no one has ever expressed this opinion on here before aside from that lone Gaidenfag.
Oh, it's Efuram user
Probably not. Conquest has higher sales than Birthright and remember Conquest also comes with a casual mode as well. So like now casual would just play it at a lower difficulty, on casual it even Phoenix mode.
With a better story it'd grab storyfags as well. Hell considering that people will put up a difficult game if the story and characters are good difficulty wouldn't be a factor.
Great map structure. They require great understand of how the map is layout, challenging, and can be completed in mutiple ways. The fox one is a bit finicky though, since on lunatic it can be pure RNG with the hit rates.
Dig Dug 2 is good
Learn to spread your units in the areas the foxes will be vulnerable in.
Or just give Effie a Beastkiller and watch them suicide.
>Conquest has higher sales than Birthright
Nice source.
Never played it before.
I was expecting half the game to be about leading a military coup against Garon and his supporters. It was beyond disappointing to discover the story is just a half-hearted invasion of a mary suetopia while Corrin obeys obviously evil masters.
>being this much of a newfag.
If you're talking about the guy who posts the FE1 and 2 maps comparisons, I'm not him.
And I have to wonder why do you get so butthurt and defensive about Echoes when I criticized both it and Conquest in my first post.
Would it even be a bad thing if Conquest outsold BR on the back of a strong story? Maybe IS would learn they could focus on a good story and tight gameplay and have good sales
Reminder that Hoshido is blatantly superior to those shitty Nohrian faggots, no matter what propoganda they spread saying otherwise.
>t. lobster
Is be with it if you were actually obeying evil superiors and the justification wasn’t “we need to win the war for Garon so he sits on the throne and exposes himself to be a literal monster and everyone agrees to kill him. Also I’ll win every single battle without any enemy casualties”
No, different guy than that. Talking about you, since you seem so dead set on "classicfags" or other such factions existing. I couldn't give less of a fuck about Echoes, I'm just sick of faggots like YOU.
Corrin actually has the right idea, he just doesn't know in what way.
means show your mature
Nope, I'm just saying that it would make Birthright a complete waste of time (more so than it is already). I wouldn't be against having Conquest having a good story. It already has a basis for it.
Surprised so few people took notice of this happening. DLC endings are a practice I'm not sure many people even think about.
...
>Entices you to join Hosido by declaring you must because you have Hoshido old while all along knowing you are not his blood brother
>This could used to lend some moral ambiguity to Hoshido
>Instead is just used to justify incest
Bravo Japan
No one noticed because everyone gave up on Fates with Revelations
Fair enough.
I like Genealogy because it did something that no other game has done and gave the entire game a much grander scale, felt like I was actually warring with other nations while still keeping in the core FE gameplay.
Thus I like its gameplay.
I don't like Fates because all it does is bring in past features/mechanics and does them worse.
Only Pair Up is improved in Fates.
The funny thing about Conquest is that people claim it to be JUST like the older games, but they give you a base inbetween chapters to do your business in however you like. Where was this in any FE before 9? And even then you didn't have shit like forging until SD and temporary stat boosters until Shitwakening, or other online features to break the game more. This pathetic attempt at appealing to "classic" FE is even more apparent with bringing back shit like capturing but not even doing it the way Thracia did, which was far superior. Fates already gives you a billion units because it's such a fucking clusterfuck, you don't need generics.
I don't even need to touch on the shit way they handled weapon durability and the gimped weapon triangle, or the deeprealms garbage. Everything about this game feels half-assed and poorly done. Development must've been a fucking mess.
Remember how the devs said Awakening was supposed to amalgamation of all the past games because it was going to be the last or some shit?
Fates is 10x worse about this.
People will make numerous excuses for this piece of trash game:
>b-but 1/3rd of it is good for a few maps!
>b-but the waifus are good!
>b-but only gameplay matters even though the gameplay is mediocre!
Like fuck, is it just buyer's remorse from preordering the special edition? I don't understand.
Man you really seem obsessed.
I don't think I've ever talked much about this matter before.
Go with Hard Classic. Game is easy as fuck anyways.
Sure you haven't. Surely your copypasted post is original and not the same guy.
Okay man, have a good day. Don't forget your pills.
>Conquest
>best gameplay
shit has like 3 good maps and almost all of them require turtling behind armours and, for the ones where he's available, Xander.
