I actually really enjoyed this game up until we had to play as aya, not only that but the modern day lead is a female too, it's pretty annoying that everything from film, TV even video games has to cater to feminazis.

The combat is literally nothing like Mountain Blade, it's an Ass Creed game, it's the same shitty 'enemies circle you and wait their turn to attack' combat.

I've been enjoying the game quite a bit, but it kinda speaks to my grind-happy mannerisms. I don't mind going around and doing a modest to high collector run.

For anyone doing a straight forward main mission rush-through I can easily see why it'd piss people off. Also helps I've got a powerful rig, so I can't say I've had too many issues besides one crash out of the 25 hours I've put in so far, and a couple of moments it would freeze for a second or so.

tl;dr edition; If you don't mind exploring and scavenging in games, it's fine. If you're a single session player, don't bother.

I think 4.9 is reasonable. It’s a good middle of the pack game with no depth that more hardcore players don’t really like yet casual players do.

I think the score reflects it well.

The combat is almost identical to Mount & Blade. You get on your horse with sword and shield, charge at bandits who ambush you and your rebel allies and then cut them down, block their archers’ arrows with your shield, steal their resources for crafting and selling and shit... how is that not like Mount & Blade?

It seems to borrow from Souls games, just not terribly well implemented. It's alright, and once you unlock some abilities it's passable, but it's really not complex. I'd put it on a similar complexity to the originals, which as you said, isn't going to win any awards, just handled differently.

1 and 2 were fine, Brotherhood was already scraping the bottom of the barrel. For most though, it was a shit game series from the start, but I really appreciated the direction Patrice intended to take this series from the start and the potential that it showed. But that was never ever realized and now it's just a retarded parody of itself.
