A good time.

a wild ride

A new addiction. Stop while you can.

Should not start with the best Yakuza game.

...

If you're able to emulate, please start with the PS2 games. If not, whatever. You can start with Zero.

Skyhigh expectations for an honestly shit series.

Better off playing Kiwami over the original.

A yakuza game. You'll hate every other one after.

Then there's no reason to start with the originals at all, just play Zero and Kiwami and you're set.

Kiwami is the original, just with a new coat of paint and improved combat, along with seamless city instead of loading pauses every 15 seconds.

Yeah, exaftly. Why go back to the old combat then? I recommend the originals over Kiwami for a reason, this means you don't have to hold the other games to a certain standard. Going from Kiwami to 2 is a massive step down. Yakuza 2's combat is great, don't get me wrong but it's still a step down. Some people don't want to deal with that.

Why does every fucking fag who buys yakuza always ask what they're in for? Just play the game you fucking prick. Jesus I hate you weeb loving fags

Quality
The soul-crushing realization SEGA can, at the drop of a hat, decide to stop localizing the games again

YAMERO! I've had to deal with this too many times. Not again.

sidequests

lods of

This, played Yakuza and now I just spent almost $200 on buying the rest of the series.

>It's literaIIy Reddit: The Game
Explain.

>Reddit: The Game
?

They can't. I at least need Hokuto ga Gotoku and I can't read squiggles.

> be mild chad
> woo fat weeaboo Chinese girl while on exchange in Asia
> She goes to Japan on holiday
> She sends me this as a gift despite the ridiculous postage to Yurop

Life's good desu

Alot reading & Cutscenes, fun minigames, boring gameplay (the fighting imo). Somehow very addicting

>disgustingly ugly cheapass versions
Typical chink.

I still question why they made 1&2 HD, then said nah, let's do it again for PS4.

A fucking movie. No action and boring mini games. I wouldnt even consider it open world. Very boring. SAD!

To be fair, I doubt there were that many regular copies out there in the wild still. She also sent pairs of socks which I've given to my gf while pretending I got them

>Got the platinum for 0, Kiwami and 3
Any other autists here?

cute yakuzas doing pretty badass and cute things.

Best game of the series.
Kiwami is a remake of the first one and the next you should play. Beware though, the first game was pretty shit and even though Kiwami tries its best to improve on it, it just pales in comparison to 0

Not before Like a north star

I'll personally destroy sega if they don't

It's pretty boring. Too many random compulsory side missions which distract from the already boring story. Map is insanely small for today's standards. GTA 3 from back in the day way bigger. Graphics look ps3 tier and frame rate can be felt dropping with stutters when running around some parts of the map. It's also very repetitive.

get in here, let's play a round

Cool, got anything for people who don't know moon

I would have done 3 if I didn't miss the only two missable side-quests in the game.

I literally do not, tenhou is the standard in online mahjong, it's easy though

1. click flash
2. click yes then okay, type in a name and hit enter
3. click okay
4. press the button to enter the wait list for the lobby

Thanks.

>How's the localization of Yakuza 6 going?
>We're done
>It's ready to go
WHY YOU GOTTA MAKE ME WAIT SO LONG???

...

Any hope of Isshin getting localized still?

That AMA is pretty much the latest we got about it as of now. Ghost of Tsushima's reception is probably giving them more reason to consider it but who knows if Sega will bite. Hopefully they will because it would be great to play it in English.

They've long lost their window for Ishin, I'm afraid. When the PS4 dropped and had no games, they could've and should've released it. Anything before Ni-Oh was a good window, basically. And with that Ghost game, Ishin's never gonna happen.

Never lose hope

>They've long lost their window for Ishin, I'm afraid.
While the game looks a bit dated with that ridiculous DoF in the distance it's still its own unique game and holds up well. Yeah, it's early PS4, but doesn't stop it from being fun, and while they need to tone down their expectations even further than what normal Yakuza sells it's still completely possible to come out. Don't give up hope, hope is what got everyone Yakuza 5.

Fights fights and more fights. Some sweaty tattooed men scream and that's about it.

Fun times, until you go to Kiwami and want to snap your controller in half until you can unlock tiger drop.

Somewhere in the back of my head, there's a little tiny bit of hope. Next to that bit of hope is my hope for KH3 so you know how that's going.
Oh, no I'm not complaining about the graphics or anything, I love Ishin. It's a great game but you've got to look at it from the perspective of the general audience. Remember when Zero got announced over here? The reaction was mostly
>WOW PS2 GAME HURR DURR
The first thing the general audience notices are it's graphics. And a game like Ishin getting localized in 17/18 people would just give the same reaction again. And SEGA sure as hell isn't going to fund the localization, they've got to focus on Kiwami 2 and the FOTNS game (maybe). Sony also isn't going to fund it because it's a spin-off, not canon. But hey, if Gio Corsi comes out and actually announces it, I'll lose my shit. He's already God-tier but this would elevate him even more.

If you're tired of vidya being a boring fucking mess, this will cure it.

Yeah, but then it went on to be a massive success for the franchise so it worked out in the end. Who knows where Ishin would end up. Play up the historical samurai part heavily in advertisement and people will most likely overlook a lot of things, though no doubt there will be many comparisons to Nioh or Ghost of Tsushima on the graphical front, but that's bound to happen regardless. If it's a good game to the general public it will stand, especially from word of mouth.

Granted, it would be a really tough sell, especially with the two or three games to take place in this area just recently and then there's all of Ishin's grinding to contend with that might sour others. It's a real mixed bag with that game no matter what, hopefully it comes out here though. I will definitely put another 170+ hours into it again.

I hope they bite, since I love those old periods of Japan and the folklore associated with it. We haven't had a Japanese-ass Japanese game that isn't a musou.

A game with huge pacing issues.

There's nothing stopping you from bee-lining the story.

Good time after you've played through all the other yakuza games starting from 1 on the PS2.
3 is optional if you're feeling the burnout coming.

>Kiryu's story reaches a climactic moment
>jump to Majima for two chapters
>Majima's story reaches a climactic moment
>jump to Kiryu for two chapters
Really liked the game but I had to really force myself through certain moments until the final third.

Same here. I took a break for like a week after the car bomb and it took me a while to get back into it

post heat actions

>he hasn't platinumed 4, 5, Ishin and 1 & 2 HD

Get on my level. I'll do Dead Souls after I beat 4 again.

>Based Gio comes out on stage during this PSX
>Announces Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Hokuto Ga Gotoku for the west
You know this'll happen.

...

...

I can only play it for like an hour a week bevause I get really bored due to the pacing

someone reply this with more Akiyama heat actions

At this point I wonder if the general public cares about visuals anymore. There are plenty of anons here that shitpost about them but nobody will argue if the game is fun to play.

When is he going to do a world premiere of Black Panther HD collection to shock even the Japanese?

1 HD, 2 HD, 3, 4, Dead Souls, 5, Ishin and nearly 100% Kenzan but I couldn't deal with those minigame requirements. Did get Amon though after tons of pain.

Gio is the reason I watch PSX, seeing him and his crazy ass Kevin Smith shirts just makes me smile + knowing he'll announce a new Yakuza game just adds to it. Great guy.

I'll whip some up in a minute, I just noticed we have a tragic lack of them.

...

I'm honestly starting to get tired of heat moves. The way kiryu always warps around with his chosen enemy is getting more and more jarring as the time goes on.
I'd really like it if they tried to make it a bit smoother at least.

holy shit, and that's my favorite heat action too. you psychic bro??

FUN

A shitty GTA knockoff adored by weebs.

That doesn't confuse me as much as them deciding to release 1&2 HD on the Wii U and then keeping every other Yakuza ever made before and afterwards still a Sony exclusive.

...

...

Because it bombed on the Wii U. If it sold well they might've ported the rest of the games on it as well. Maybe even Nintendo paid them to do it in the first place, I dunno. They have commented in an interview about PC once. All they've said is that they're not opposed to the idea of porting the games to PC but they don't have the time or manpower to spare.

>They've long lost their window for Ishin
I got some hope if only because that poll Sega released around the time Kiwami launched in the US asked what fans played or wanted localized and Ishin was one of selections. It may not be a high priority but I can see them releasing it between 6 and North Star.

>Nintendo goes to Sega and asks if they want to drop something on their new system
>Sega checks with Sony and agrees to 1&2 HD
What's so hard to understand about that? Nintendo probably gave them money just to put something on their failing system. And Sega saw the system for what it was so they didn't want to lose their partnership with Sony when it comes to Yakuza.

they don't have that window either because that'll be where kiwami 2 slots in

Wii U has no adult games, so they'll take anything. Nagoshi has a history with Nintendo thanks to F-Zero GX and Super Money Ball. 1 & 2 HD had been out for a few years and Sony wasn't likely to object when the had an actual new RGG lined up for release, and it can't have been hard to port over. They thought it was worth a try I suppose. Look at it as a failed experiment.

Could they have the sony brand stuff in the games if they ported it to other platforms?

...

Sure. MGS got away with it.

I dunno. I doubt it'll ever happen desu even with Sega Europe saying that the games are on their list of things they'd like to port. In my eyes it's just appeasing PC only fans so they shut up about it at least for a while.

This is the most satisfying ground finisher, when Akiyama goes for that kick full force to the guy's jaw at the start it's so great.

Ishin was a fucking ride. Though, I couldn't get out of my head how Gintama portrays some of the historical characters that are mentioned in Ishin and Japanese history. Hanpeita being a lolicon in Gintama and in Ishin he's the final boss

also more gun style heat actions as well pls

>GOATama
manofculture.jpg

That's edgy af.

>That final fight.
>You clang swords.
>RYO....MA
>TAKE...CHI
So good.

I'M SCREAMING!! HAHA FART JOKES!!! REMEMBER DRAGONBALL Z????

Was Hijikata a real guy? Was he in Ishin? Who is the mayo obsessed man in Ishin?

just watched its ep 333 last night. the investigation of Momotaro's murder was hilarious.

it also gave me hindsights about Awano since his tattoo is based of him

...

Mine

...

I doubt it either. If they went for to porting all the games it'd take them years as there's 9 games, excluding PSP ones and Kenzan with Ishin. On top of all these games there's 3 different engines. They teased that they're porting something to PC in 2015 which were Bayo and Vanquish. Both games came out this year so it took them at least 2 years. Of course they could just go and port the newest title but I can't see the Europe branch doing it because so far they've been only doing older console games.

criminally overlooked, though i'm glad gorilla man himself has been keeping it largely consistent throughout the entire series

Holy shit. That guy got launched out the door and into space.

that reminds me, I need to catch up with the manga
Hasegawa back in business chapter kept me hanging
