ATLUS gave me an early copy of the game. I think it's safe to say it's the best MegaTen game aside from Persona: The Melancholy of Akechi Goro.

I'd say so. The combat is a blast, and while the cast and writing is mostly shit, all of the Demon characters are good and one or two human characters are alright. There's also a lot of QoL improvements which is nice.

The characters are full retard but the original IV plot was no great shakes to begin with.

Better dungeons, better mechanics, better almost everything.

Game/play and systems wise yes. They fixed a lot of the problems from IV.

Some people don't like the different narrative, as they feel persona influenced it.

I personally liked it as, that has been SMT's biggest weakness is the bareboneish story

I don't know about that. Both games have shit dungeons, but I don't know that I'd say IV:A's were any better than IV's.

Nah, they made a workaround for that. They're still handy skills to have, but not gamebreaking.

if you use that shit late game bosses spam megidoloan, they know that shit is broken but they can't balance it. Instead they say fuck you for using it and instakill you

Great. It's the last SMT I have to play. Enjoyed IV but fuck getting around Tokyo. At least at first, later in the game I knew where everything was.
