Rank souls games and souls-likes in order of preference. From the top of my head, your choices are:
Demons souls
Dark souls 1,2,3
Bloodborne
Nioh
Lords of the fallen
Salt and sanctuary

Am I missing any? Feel free to add your own.

DaS1 > Das2 > Das3

Ill only rank games I played, based purely off enjoyment, replayability, and {fun}

Das1>bloodborne>demonsouls>das2>das3
I get the feeling that das2 could have been the best, but it just feels so wrong

>order played
2 > 3 > 1
>favorite
1 > 3 > 2

I was actually really surprised with how much I enjoyed 1.

DS1 = BB > DS3 > DeS > DS2

I bought and played Nioh a little bit but it just didn't click for me which is weird because I loved the demo when it was out.

I've only finished Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2, so I guess BB > DS2. DeS and DS1 seem cool, but I'm not a fan of DeS' gimmicks and I've not finished 1.
Gimmicks is not the right word, but I can't think of any others right now.

I wish I wasn't so terrible at these games.

My preference:
Bloodborne
Dark Souls 1
Nioh
Dark Souls 3
Demons Souls
Dark Souls 2
Didn't play the other two.

Bloodborne
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2
Dark Souls 3

Nioh

Haven't played any of the others.

Nioh > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 1 > Dark Souls 2 > Bloodborne > Demon's Souls >>> Lords of the Fallen

Really? I'm playing Lords at the moment and I think it's pretty enjoyable. Compared to the combat in DS3 it feels very 'heavy' and slow. I like it.

ITT: people who are way too influenced by a brand name. Only a few people have even attempted to play souls likes?
If you like that style if game, why not branch out and try the lesser known titles?
If you love Coca Cola so much, why not try a Pepsi for once?

wtf are you talking about

>BloodBorne
>Nioh
>Des
>Das
everything else is garbage

Has no one here played The Surge?

what a shit eater

there are too many games of the same concept.
demon souls - dark souls 1 - bloodborne.
and thats enough.

Look at the replies. Pretty much everyone has played the Dark Souls series but very few people have played the lesser known games that have souls-like gameplay (Lords of the Fallen, for example)
You would think that for people who apparently love the games so much, they would be curious to at least try them for comparison's sake. It seems a few people played Nioh but gave up because it's too different.

I honestly and truly non-memeing liked ds2 way more than ds1. 1 was just not fun to play.

The surge comes to mind

i played them all in release order

bb > das1 > des > nioh > das3 > salt > das2

it's all relative and i don't think any of them are bad games

This.

DeS
DaS
Nioh
Bloodborne
DaS3
Lords of the Fallen
DaS2

Nioh is really nothing like souls. I really don't understand why people who haven't played it keep saying so.

Bloodborne
Dark Souls
Nioh/Demons Souls
Souls 3
Souls 2

HUEG power gap

The surge
Lotf

>Nioh PC in like 40 hours
Odachi/Axe master race reporting in.

I like them all for their own merits. It's hard for me to rank them.

Except for Lords of the Fallen. That game was pretty mediocre. Also, Salt and Sanctuary is more of a "Metroidvania" to me than a "Souls-Like".

Another is Technomancer

BB>BB>BB>BB>BB>DS1

Well first. Remove Nioh from the roster. It's not a souls game.
It's onimusha.

Bloodborne
Dark souls 3
Dark souls 2 Sotfs
Dark souls
Demon's Souls
Dark souls 2
Salt and Sanctuary
The Surge
Lords of the fallen.

Honorable mentions since it isn't a Souls game in any way but still on OP's list for no reason
Nioh. It's fucking Onimusha. Get over it.

I think you're on to something

Technomancer is a Witcher/Mass effect/Dragon age clone.
Nothing souls about it.

>Dream tier
Bloodborne
>Monarch tier
Nioh Complete
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin
>Great tier
Dark Souls 1 + Artorias of the Abyss
Dark Souls 2 + Season's Pass
Dark Souls 3 + Season's Pass
>Flawed gem tier
Demon' Souls
>Almost a good game tier
Lords of the Fallen
The Surge

Don't use both. You'll find it redundant. Try matching Axe or Odachi with something that complements the playstyle. You might want something like Tonfa or Spear to compliment the slow pace of the heavy weapons.

>Tonfa with stam/str build
Nah. Maybe after I'm level 200+

That or Focus the weapon's Secondary damage increase stat and use the weapon that utilizes it.
Like Odachi with Sword and since Axe's secondary stat is body your best option is spear because no weapon's main stat is body but Body is Spear's secondary as well and is still a B+.

Doing this ensures your main weapon is the strongest it can possibly be and your secondary is a even backup for when your slow lumbering ass can't catch those fast fuckers.

Bloodborne >>> Dark Souls > Nioh >>> Dark Souls 2 > Lords of the Fallen

Haven't played any others

So this is the power of shit taste...not bad

People mostly love Dark Souls for the mystery of the experience. People stop playing the knockoff when they see that they mostly copy the mechanical aspects of the games but don't but the same effort into providing a world to discover or mix up the mechanics more than they do.

If you could name any particular one that stands out as being spectacular (I have played Nioh), please do so.

>Dodging / attacking gameplay with bosses
?

And? That's barely a focus of Souls on the whole. By this metric Ninja Gaiden would be a Souls.

>D*rk Souls 2 anywhere above "Steaming Dung Pile" tier

you tried

Nah.
Super fucking story driven with quests.
Obsurdly small weapon type selection.
Skill tree.
Completely built around character interactions.
Controls like complete ass. Boss fights a face fucks until enemy health is gone.
No skill required in any way. Just attack head first.
Dialog wheel.
Can equip companions if your shit. only 3 weapons.
The game somehow manages to be Dragon Age 2 with less effort.

>Salt and sanctuary
ehh i wouldn't count that
but there is The Surge and Let It Die

If DaS2 is generally seen as being the worst game in the series, why are there so many adamant defenders?

Not to his defense.
SotFS is so much better than the original DS2.
Just don't play the Ps3 verison. It's literally just DS2 with all the DLC and none of the games fixes and changes.

DaS2 is shit.
DaS2:SotFS is actually an enhanced and changed version of DaS2 which makes the game so much better.
Which is why in most of these peoples list DaS2 is listed twice.

Because the flaws are subjective at best and the ones that aren't, are superficial as fuck.

Add onto both these facts that the average complaint tends to be something that can literally be answered with "git gud" and you can see why the "DaS2 defense force" is so rabid.

>skillfulness
>bosses requiring awareness

Nah bro. The Original version of DS2 is shit compared to the other 4 games.
It's enhanced version is what makes up greatly for the game.

De=ds=bb=nioh>>>ds3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ds2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> lords

It really isn't. SotFS just spcied up the progression and enemy placements. All it did is allow more people to appreciate why DaS2 was good in the first place.

no skill required.
Just tank the hit in your leather jacket and chaps.
>bosses requiring awareness
Not even remotely. I beat the game walking into every encounter and spamming lighting until everything was dead. Which was mostly just 1 or 2 blasts and then done. Bosses required more so I just tapped on them with a stick a few times until I could cast more lightning.

Which is your only spell by the way. that and making your weapon have lightning.

the game really is a poor mans DA2. And that seems relatively impossible by DA2's standards.

Also suffers from Eurojank

King's Feild >>>>>>>>>>>>> everything else

>Only spiced up enemy placements
Last time I checked the Pursuer actually does his job now.
All of the New game plus enemies that were locked behind a second run most people wouldn't even do are now part of the first run.
They toned down the complete shittyness that was the Soul level bullshit.
And it didn't run like dog shit.
Also includes all the DLC
Sounds like a vast improvement to the original to me.

>Last time I checked the Pursuer actually does his job now.
He did that already, but I'll admit they improved it a lot.
>All of the New game plus enemies that were locked behind a second run most people wouldn't even do are now part of the first run.
Yeah, that's part of the spiced up placements
>They toned down the complete shittyness that was the Soul level bullshit.
No they didn't. Agape Ring is in the base version too
>And it didn't run like dog shit.
That's a PC centric issue.
>Also includes all the DLC
So does the base version. You can even buy a GOTY version where it's included.

Maybe it's an option thing, but bosses hitting for a lot exists.

>He did that already,
He showed up three times.
Two of which are completely avoidable unannounced to the common player.
If I remember correctly his real boss fight is optional.
In SotFS he shows up many more times and in much less missable places. Vast improvement.
>That's a PC centric issue.
That was a Pc and PS3 centric issue.
>So does the base version.
The base does not. Requires purchase of the DLC through store.
>You can even buy a GOTY version where it's included.
If you are talking about the DS2 SotFS Ps3 version. That is just the base game with all the DLC. Which had none of the changes the Ps4 and PC versions of the game actually had.
Could have fooled me. I boringly walked through that trash heap.

>The base does not
Completely untrue. It was patched in alongside Aldia.

Get your shit straight.

Best bosses in souls games? (including demons and bloodborne)

>The base does not. Requires purchase of the DLC through store
Nope. Aldia and Agape ring were free updates.

>That is just the base game with all the DLC
Yeah, which means you can't really act like SotFS including the DLC is a big deal, since you can find a similar bundle on the base version.

Once I beat the game I fucking threw that shit to the wolves and bought DS2:SotFS later when it came out and showed it wasn't nearly as bad as the original. I can't tell you what they managed to fix in coming updates.

1. Bloodborne
2. Who gives a shit

why do people play this game in pvp like dark souls? they'll get flattened each time
