Why is Latin American videogame market so small?

Tons of millions of people and it barely represents 4% of the whole market

Their retarded governments considers video gaming a kind of gambling and they tax it accordingly.

>Yurop alongside Middle East and Africa
Sup Forums thread!? Sup Forums thread!?

Isn't it tho?
>loot boxes

shit cost a fortune if you want to be a buyfag, we're still stuck with chipped ps2 with pirate disk that you can still buy anywhere

That's only brazil which is the only country with the potential for growth since they're richer than the other countries which are too poor to afford vidya.

Speak for your shitty country. Stores here don't even sell PS360s anymore. It's all current gen.

>living in Chile
>now the goverment says we need to pay 35% more of taxes for digital, even when we already pay taxes for it

The life of a pirate for me I guess

Games in Mexico aren't that expensive, we got Amazon Prime, cheap Steam games, etc but yeah, inequality is huge in latam countries

They only play digimon

They were ahead of the curve

I actually do play digimon masters
Hahaha
But i only play for two weeks every 3 or 4 months

>Europe, Middle East and Africa
So just Europe?

The games there cost more so they just pirate instead. Sometimes they send people on vacation to USA to just to pick up games

>Why is Latin American videogame market so small?
Socialists. Also every game cost dollar x2 so you either go digital or piratefag.

Why is Mexico included in both North America and Latin America?

br monkeys cant buy consoles because of the heavy taxes on it
dunno much about mexishits but at least they know mario and can get hyped for it i saw some photos of some festival where some big mario doll shows on the road

and they are poor

Damn is the Chinese vidya market really that big now? It wasn't even that long ago when the CPC was trying to shut gaming out of the country.

It's not. They just chose a shitty spot to cut off for Central America.

nobody buys consoles and handshelds. pretty sure over 98% of the profits are either f2p garbage or mobile trash made in china or the companies approved by ccp. tho you can find some rich chink kids on steam. but they arent the majority.

Because of this

Basic (Electricity, Heating, Cooling, Water, Garbage) for 85m2 Apartment 121.72 $
Internet (60 Mbps or More, Unlimited Data, Cable/ADSL) 39.96 $
Monthly Pass (Regular Price) 47.80 $
Apartment (1 bedroom) Outside of Centre 364.24 $

so 574 usd in transport + internet + basic + apartment
Let's see the average salary:
Average Monthly Net Salary (After Tax) 783.00 $

783 - 574 = 209 usd for vydia and food

>Grouping Europe with Middles East and Africa

>the entire country only earns minimum wage

Love this meme.

Europe is being destroyed by migrants from those areas so it makes sense.

No it is since Mexico is both Latin American and North America

The funny thing is that if you don't consider Mexico in Latam, latin market would be like 2.5-3%

So minumum wage is CLP 480000 now? how generous.

gaming in africa is pretty much concentrated in south africa and to a certain extent in north african countries, with small pockets in kenya and nigeria where gaming is pretty much only in cyber cafe and it's shit like fifa being played on ps2s and hacked 360s/ps3s

gaming is viable in small oil rich countries in the middle east but that's about it

it's likely that the their numbers are smaller than lat american

Damn. I'm sorry.

Its pretty hard to play video games when you're robbing people or starving to death.

>Europe lumped in with Africa and middle east
Top kek

Same reason why african videogame markets are nonexistent.

Except africans are extremely poor while south americans would have the money if the final cost wasn't two times the actual price.

There's a reason you see so many south american tourists going to the US and spensing thousands of dollars.

Steam has regional prices, and since they did it in my country I've been able to purchase a lot more of games.

I even preordered a couple of games cuz it was so cheap compared to buying it elsewhere.
