Why do I find these Moblin encounters so hard? They kill me in like one hit. Are you expected to be able to beat them with very low quality weapons and armor?
Why do I find these Moblin encounters so hard? They kill me in like one hit...
You an definitely beat them, just be careful and use the game's systems to your advantage. If your weapon is about to break, throw it at the Moblin to do a lot of damage. Keep your distance, let him whiff and punish.
Game's relatively hard until you get the hyrule soldier clothes and some way to restock on arrows.
Becomes a cakewalk once you learn to parry.
Dont just rush into a fight. Analyze the sorrundings and use it to your advantage. Example being: shoot the lamps in the skull and they'll blow up the barrels.
You're not the only one. The start of BotW is challenging.
No, you cannot just rush them and smash A like in past Zeldas. You gotta think smart, explore your options, and even re-consider the whole necessity of even engaging them.
I run past them every single time. I run past every enemy I encounter if I can. Makes me feel like I'm playing "wrong"
surely I'm being memed. This game is hard for like the first hour or 2 MAYBE if you're on your first play through. Get's easy quick.
If you want to keep the game somewhat challenging, do not upgrade any clothes past level 2, especially the soildier armor. I made that mistake and the game became so easy it lost some of its fun. Its much more fun to become "invincible" from learning the games mechanics than from being able to take hundreds of blows.
Because they're hard. You really need better weapons and armor. You can also abuse the ragdolling property of physics objects and thrown weapons.
>I run past every enemy I encounter if I can.
you're going to have to man up eventually. Get the "feel" for the battle and enemies' behavior.
But like said: less Ramboing, more Solid Snake-in'. For the first 20 or so HOURS, I adventured into far west, to the mountains and alleys, still practically naked, carrying only Bokoblin gear. The enemies out there were on totally different level, and literally could 1-shot me in no time. It did teach me how to play and fight smart, and also got me some sweet loot in return.
It was only afterwards I started seeing my first NPCs.
That is the right way. The only real upgrades are hearts/stamina, so you'll want to just do shrines for a bit so shit doesn't one shot you. Weapon upgrades are slow and mostly impermanent.
Ice arrows and shock arrows are extremely important for fighting strong enemies. They'll even get you through Hyrule Castle in the early game.
Pick some off before you run up there, there's explosives and shit around.
>Started off on master mode
>Beat almost everything easily except guardians and lynels
I still love the game though, combat isn't even close to important to me when you've got atmosphere like this.
Just don't fight them because the reward is too small anyway
learn to chain stealth kills
>sneak strike
>walk to their opposite side
>sneak strike
>emulate botw with a broken gamepad
>ZL and ZR don't work
>so no shield or bow
>also run around naked because style over stats and I wasn't aware that its flat dmg reduction
>still easily kill everything on the plateau with ease
>also continue to kill moblins and lizals with ease
Literally just don't stand still and you won't be hit.
Is this your first video game?
Use the environment, use ranged weapons, use stealth, use bombs, use korok leaves to knock them on their ass so you can pick up their weapon and leave them defenseless OR use the leaf to fling them into water or off cliffs.
Your sword and board should be a last resort.
Does the korok leaf always ragdoll moblins? I don't remember.
When you're on plateau there's only a few practical ways (see non-explosive, non-flammable, arrows, or tossed items) to deal with Blue Bokos.
A. Spin attack with a weak weapon repeatedly to break their guards and hope you don't mess up.
B. Attack them from behind with any jump attack. This will hurl them forward.
C. Use a charged jab item above level 4 or so. For example a fully charged pitchfork or bokostick will not work but a lance will UNLESS you can land the final jab.
D. Broadsword
Those are literally your only options. Don't listen to anyone saying the game is easy trying to get dick points. If they don't list these they didn't really play the game.
I always just ran in and killed them. You get unlimited dodging and a shield. Many times you can blow up a bunch of them with a fire arrow to those barrels too. What's the problem?
Yes, even if you give them the leafs, moblins will cause other moblins to ragdoll.
For some reason the white enemies detect me no matter what. Is it just impossible to sneak up on them?
Hero mode makes first encounters nearly impossible.
Korok leaf fixes that right up. Except for the Lynel, fuck that guy. I can't consistently dodge the mace wielding jackasses.
Get the fairy fountains
I've found that rushing into him and under his legs while counter intuitive actually works, similar to a few cuphead bosses. Blocking is also better than dodging if you don't mind breaking a few shields.
