Actually, given the story context it would make sense if he was a nigger, or at least partially black. He is a member of Medjay order, an order that is NOTORIOUSLY famous for being exclusively black back in the days of it's main fame. Seriously, look it up: Medjay order was a special unit of palace guards established 1100 B.C. (give or take a few centuries) from a former Nubian mercenary unit. It was stressed out, in all historical materials from that era, that Medjay were exclusively composed of black Numbians (which were at the time common in Ancient Egypt - in fact, the borders between Nubia and Egypt were always pretty damn fuzzy at least, hell, there were even eras where Nubian dynasty ruled over Egypt).

While the game takes place almost 1500 years after the Medjay order was last mentioned in Egyptian historical records, it would make sense to actually stress out some degree of Nubian origin/heritage from the character.

Honestly though, the character is so clearly, painfully neutral race-wise in order to be inoffensive and ambiguous it's not even funny. I would not mind personally, aside from the fact that it makes him weirdly blank and rootless, but really: this is the ONE game where significanly more black protagonist WOULD make sense.
Of course, they could not really do that because the internet would absolutely SHIT itself, because knowing the difference between Medjay and regular Egyptian is beyond capacity of an average internet user.

The problem is that at the time Nubia was ruled by Egypt wich was ruled by multiple middle eastern and european groups. It would be cool to see nubians aka the niggest niggers to ever be relevant in the ancient world in action but the timeframe is off, it's like a millenia before assasins existed too so I don't really know what are they doing at this point.

The bigger problem, I think, is the idea that Medjay would even still be a relevant or even recognizable concept (much less an actually still existing order) in the time-frame the game takes place. I don't thine idea that that in Cleopatra's days, Nubia was ruled over by Egypt, which was in return essentially a Hellenic colony is in itself a problem at all. I hope I'm not lying, but I think Nubia was ALSO ruled over by Egypt in the era of second Kingdom, when Medjay order was established. Historically, the two countries were nearly permanently either rulling one over another, or in some kind of personal union: not to mention that borders weren't exactly an exact science at the time. Upper Egypt was mostly populated by niggers until modern colonialism shuffled the cards anyway.

The real problem could be how an order such as Medjay (which was presumably dissolved or reintegrated into later military institutions) would keep maintaining it's relative racial purity - or why would they - for another 1500 years.

All that said: I agree, this is not the ideal time-frame to explore nigger history in Egypt. But still, I find it funny how people still make a massive deal out of alleged protags stolen bike collection, when this is actually the one time it seems kinda appropriate. I fucking hate this fucking racial diversity agenda bullshit, I really do, but in this particular case, I'm almost sorry that Ubisoft did not go for it and make him into a full blown Nubian, and maybe actually explore the whole subject of Nubia's influence on Egypt history. It is about as appropriate as it can get in games.

But shame, the fucking volatile bullshit mood in the industry just would not allow for it, even if there was someone responsible and competent enough in Ubisoft to pull it off.
