>critical hit has a short, sibilant sound effect

>heals can crit

name ONE game

>the heal item/spell has a breakbeat sound effect

>there is a cute loli party member

tf2

>the final boss is visually hinted in a previous mission

>being able to see your weapons and other equipment on your person

Trail in the sky.

>DoTs can stack

FFXIV

WoW

SWTOR

Alright, i already got BTFO. You all can stop.

>critical hit sound is a loud, wet slap

>Your character gets increasingly covered in blood as the fight wages on

you fucked up
now you pay the price

N U T

Too bad the game I BTFO you with is shit.

>undead enemies take damage from healing and heal from poison

>Kirby 1-up sound effect

>Japanese game is released on PC
>western game is only on consoles

>in a weird twist of fate, the western game is the most "video gamey" like what jap games are often celebrated for being while the Japanese game is the cinematic qte fest that western games are derided for being

Name the games.

Darkest dungeon

>acessories like, helmets, rings and neckleace appear when equiped

I want to bully Marcille

Catchy themes
>When you are in a save room in Dino Crisis

>enemy infighting

>game gives you the option to hide your helmet natively
>hide at all times or just in cutscenes, too

youtube.com/watch?v=dY_6jipjKyY

>series keep the same sound effects from the first game

youtu.be/-2p26xWOorE

>the sound of your steps is different on hard surfaces when you take your footgear off

>Cool weapon-switching animations
I refuse to play anything but YER on Spy in TF2, for example. Deagle in CS would be another example.

>2nd game is so much better than the first that people pretend the first never happened

>certain actions pause the game for a split second.
You usually only see it in fighting games but when I see it outside of them I love it.

Street fighter
uncharted
resident evil

Weapons being weighty
>Shooting a gun in TLoU
>Swinging strength weapons in DS games
Something so satisfying about hearing a sound effect and seeing an animation and immediately knowing WOW THAT SHIT HURT

destiny

>Automatic vacuum effect for bonus items when you get close

Care to name ONE game that isn't Dragon Quest?

Every Mario game ever.

>healing potions can crit
>healing potions can multistrike

Not exactly an achievement. That's like comparing Custer's Revenge to Red Dead Redemption.

>game has option to turn subtitles on

>subtitles
>subtitles(CANTONESE)

Sleeping Dogs was so nice to give the option to only translate the non-english dialogue. I fucking hate when games just put [Speaking x language] in subtitles

I loved FFXI's footwear changing your walking sounds

>game has a dedicated button for humming along to the music

>parry sfx from third strike
>parry sfx in general

this desu
as a non-native speaker with poor hearing but good reading and writing, I like being able to get every single piece of the dialogs

>Cutscenes are skippable

>air sucked out of room
>game goes almost silent apart from footsteps/atmosphere inside of suit

>helmets appear when equipped
What game DOESN'T do this?

Liked that in ME2. Did Dead Space do it too?

>Spells can crit
>Spell crits have a different bit of dialog than regular crits
>enemies have different crit dislog than player characters, even for spells

yep, that's the game I had in mind

>Gears of War headshot pop

I refuse to believe there is a better sound clip in all of video games than this

youtube.com/watch?v=9i4T6nRPC1Q

>Cutscenes are pausable and skippable.

>you can skip multiple cutscenes in a row

>Swinging strength weapons in DS games
This. The one and only series where I enjoyed a pure STR build.

>Having multiple cutscenes in a row
user, we're talking video games here, not movies.

Quite a few

>main story dialogue and character interactions/reactions slightly change based on non-main story content done

I don't know that game.

>Critical is for timing the attack buton on time.

>skip dialogue in-game
>character says "shut up!", "quit it!" or "not now!"

Every single MOTHER Game when you fight a important enemy.

>Main menu screen changes as you advance though the game

Waterfall caves.

Secrets. Modern AAA games has no secrets.

Blck Desert online for most female helmets.

I thought Black Desert was all about character customization.
How can you not have visible helmets for a game like that?

Mein neger

This tiny thing from Metal Slug always puts a smile on my dumb face because it's an animation that doesn't need to be there but they put it in anyway

You have some for females (mostly cat ears and shiet you can buy from the pearl shop (i.e with real money) ...
Lots of customization is maybe why they don't want to hife the face you've spent hours creating.

Metal Slug in general has all kinds of nice little details. The random people in the background just trying to live their lives while your killing enemies. The enemies just chilling in front of a fire with drink.

>Main character has a loli companion and they're shown on the title screen.
>Loli gets taken near the end of the story.
>Main character is now alone on the title screen.

I liked ZoE1 tho

>No limit to buff stacking.

My favorite is knytt, with that soothing little song.

>Destiny 2
>unanimously treated as better than the first
Did you read his post? Because that's not the case at all, D2 is hemorrhaging players and getting railed on by those that stayed for being worse than D1 in a laundry list of ways without having learned anything from D1's expansions

I will never stop being angry about that true ending. Normal should have been canon.

>Tomb Raider has no secrets anymore
>It's all just chase for markers on the open world map
>And some "optional tombs" bullshit

>player can build an engine within the game systems/mechanics and generate infinitely huge resources/power

i don't know how much this fits in the thread, since it's so specific
>the shotgun re-chamber sound in the original doom series

>One-hits a small rat
>entire party is covered in blood from head to toe
Yeah I loved Dragon Age Origins

X3's solar power plant loops. The only limits are the player's autism and their FPS.
The german forum had a sticky titled "Building at 1fps"

>Swinging mechanics

>mfw Fallout 4

One of the best parts of it. The world actually felt alive and it wasn't just background noise. You could go toward it from a quite a distance and find a fight. Between that and the amazing background soundtrack with the fucking radio off was what got me through that game. It make exploration kind of fun.

Fuck you, Todd. You got me.

I was so disappointed that the 3rd game didn't do the same.

>characters respond to actions in real time
I mean things like getting a headshot and an NPC calls out "nice shot"

>soundtrack and ambiance in far harbor
I fucking loved that shit.
I swear when I was doing the intro mission and those villagers were trapped outside the gate, I immediately jumped down and put myself between them and the fog

>get to some area you though the devs didn't want anyone to get to that required crafty mechanic use to find you way to
>there is actually treasure/an eater egg
Is there any better feeling

>you can pause, rewind, and fast forward cutscenes

>Title Screen starts barren with just the MC
>Other characters join the MC as you help them throughout the game

Oh shit Far Harbor was the best. The whole island felt like something out of a Stephen King movie/novel (constant mist included.) Such a good fucking expansion. What is it with Bethesda and expansions. They're always the tits.

>battle music is just the normal music with more/different instruments
>music smoothly changes when you get into or out of a fight

Except that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise pisses on all of that.

>You can force your enemy to run out of mana or healing items

Name 1 game that isn't in the Fire Emblem series that does this
