How do we fix MOBAs

Are MOBAs just badly designed games?

>Limit the expression of character mastery
>Encourages offloading blame to teammates
>Itemization is something of a clusterfuck
>Snowballing
>Picks and bans are a bandaid for poor game balance
>Picks and bans discourage character mastery at high levels
>Picks and bans make it difficult to realistically practice

How do we fix this?

>inb4 Heroes of the Bore

Take all the characters out.
Then put them in their own separate single-player games.

>3D / WASD
>gameplay depth

Arena games are minimalistic.

>open world
>spawning with money
>gear respawning in cities
>full-looting PvP
>item stores
>action combos

My only issues with mobas is that team games all sort of suck and fighting games are better. Other than that I enjoy HOTS.

It's good finding a character and playing it, but at least WoW has deep gameplay (albeit having the drawback of leveling).

>trinity
IKR.

I want Zarya to snu-snu my pelvis into dust

Not really. It's a hotkey mmo. It's fucking mindless for most classes. Furthermore having gear affect combat is dumb as shit.

literally the only good thing about mobas is that dota has a pretty cool and varied hero roster
you can play this guy who stops time or this dude who puts down mines and kills himself or this dude who has 4 replicas of himself or this dude who has like 10 spells and so on 100x

I want to lick those thighs.

and how

We don't.

We let them serve their valuable purpose to the videogame community at large: Capturing autists who would be ruining everyone's fun in any other game.

Ever played incredible hulk ? Except it's his female cousin.

Sorry OP, but you're not about to upload Zarya, legs crossed up skirt look like that without telling me who the artist is.

Chadman. Just do a iqdb search mah man.

>roles
>TTK

What are you trying to demonstrate?

>post shit game of even shittier genre
>complaining about anything else

I want to worship Zarya's feet!

Innovation.

>calling overwatch an assfaggot
>using the term "moba" at all

You fuck up the thread at the first post OP.

this is the only time ive been remotely attracted to zarya

Team designed are flawed by nature, there's always a guy with ping, lag, troll or whatever, that's 2/5 of your games. Then probably 1/2 of the other games you got an invisible handicap, maybe someone is distracted, tired, or just not giving for X reason (In blizz games you also need to add forced50 games). So in the end only small portion of your games were fair or fun, it's just not worth it.

This is bullshit because Zarya should have a bigger waist

I think the key is to empower a good player to carry, instead of being held hostage by very bad or intentionally disruptive players.

I think the game needs to be designed defensively so that the mechanics limit the ability of certain synergies to break the game as it were. Guilty Gear's assorted defensive mechanics, like progressive gravity for example serve this purpose.

She would be literally 10x times better with any other haircut instead of that tumblr grass patch

>not capitalizing ASSFAGGOT
>thinking Groverwatch isn't an ASSFAGGOT in disguise

Neither of you have played aeon of strife. Stop quoting shit you don't understand.

HotS and Awesomenauts are better mobas than average because they shave out a lot of the defining characteristics of mobas.

>HotS has an extremely short laning phase, no last hitting, and prioritizes map objectives over straight pushing, and relegates items to character-specific upgrades which makes proper balance feasible without expecting a static set of upgrades to work on everyone. Character power is also extremely easy to judge based on team level and talents.
>Nauts has no laning phase at all and only requires last hitting for long-range farming, prioritizes abilities over autoattacks damage-wise, and autoattacks must be manually aimed. Maps are extremely small by moba standards so you don't have to prioritize heavily between pushing/farming and fighting. Fights break out all the fucking time. Also uses character-specific upgrades but has more standard moba economy, compensating for by controlling like a Contra clone instead of a one-unit RTS.
>Both games last less than 20 minutes on average.

But laning is where individual skills tends to shine the most. Why not reward players that can 1v1 better than their opponents?

>overshit pic
>retarded points
no surprise there.

...

>Mostly PvE
>1v1
The depth and variety of actually playing (a hero) there are the problems.

maybe you should play an actually good Dotalike
pic related

You're right, but Overwatch most definitely IS a MOBA.

>HotS
>lose cause someone isn't playing the game

lul

It's not an ASSFAGGOTS, MOBA is a general term Riot invented because they didn't like being called a dota clone/dota-like

An actual term would be ARTS as it holds a similar connotation to ARPG where you control a singular character with customization but focuses on RTS of course.
