War Tank is my waifu

Bretty gud! :D

I remember getting to a later stage with the plane guy, and he pushed my shit in with his special ability one too many times. I got discouraged and put the game down for good.

On a par with the best fire emblems, didn't like the art direction of the last DS one though despite the waifus

Good, but classic Fire Emblem is better.

HELP!

im on the final mission in advance wars 2.

who are the best 3 CO i should bring with me?

I can't believe it's fucking dead.
I liked Days of Ruin, and wish that there was a split between it and the normal AW where we got games with both types of atmosphere.

1 and 2 on the GBA are better than Fire Emblem has ever been. The DS ones are alright

preferred it to FE
sad it got abandoned
glad it's got a couple clones in development

Normal or hard?

normal

It's fun, although some maps can feel like a bit of a slog sometimes. The first 3 games were charming but I also liked Days of Ruin for it's portrayal of the war but still peppering humour here and there. Not every post apocalyptic game need be grim dark.

Also the music is fantastic, I love the CO themes, especially in Days of Ruin, it's great. They really work with for their COs. Like Will's theme sounds pretty hopeful to me and Waylon's sounds flippant just like him. I particularly like Tabitha's.

Love them all and miss them terribly

METEOR STRIKE LOL

Post the worst AW clone you've played.

I liked Battalion Wars better, it was perfect marriage of TPS and RTT

All right, so you need to put your heavy hitters on the sides. Max, Eagle, and Kanbei are your best picks here. Kanbei can be tricky because of the extra cost, but his units are beefier than Sturm's, so you can fight him off pretty effectively. You can also have Kanbei shuttle an infantry or two over to the center area to grab some extra money.
I always put Colin in the middle. Colin's sole purpose is to distract Sturm. He's going to send some serious crap down the center and you need to stop it from going to the sides. As much as you can, at least.
This is going to sound weird, but Colin also needs to be pulling double duty as the meteor magnet. If you clump up enough of his units and spread out units on the sides decently, you can get Meteor Strike to hit an inconsequential block of mechs or something.
At this point, my memory is starting to get fuzzy, but I think you need to have the sides rush up to the production areas near the pipe. Sturm starts with bases a little further up and you really want to grab those, too. Your overall game plan is to get a bomber to the Deathray and one-shot it. Taking out the cannons is optional, but it does help a good bit.
Alternatively, if you don't want to try the two-pronged offense strategy, you can put Sensei on one of the sides and use him as a meteor magnet. His powers make him really good at that and his copters can put out some serious damage against anything that isn't anti-air, but if you're not careful, your technique score will be terrible.

Could not stand for 5 minutes, this game is horrible to get into in 2017.
Is it praised for being the only strategy-like game on a GBA? I mean of course you would have never seen such a game before if you were a child, that doesn't stop it from being really horrible to get into in todays standards.

Oh, one more thing to add, though I assume you're already trying for this.
For the bomber game plan, the best way to get to the Deathray is through the pipe seams. I don't have a good mental image of it, but by looking around the map the path becomes pretty obvious. You just bust a couple seams and you're left with a direct path to the Deathray.

thanks for the advice user. i have a feeling im going into hell itself but i will prevail!

this game reminds me of it, dont know how it went under my radar for soo long

from 2013~
>The Battle for Wesnoth is an open source, turn-based strategy game with a high fantasy theme. It features both singleplayer and online/hotseat multiplayer combat.

Fucking hate this game for relying on random so much. So rage inducing.

Sami a best

Well, look on the bright side. Once you beat this, you unlock hard mode and hard mode has its own Final Front.
But personally, I think Final Front hard is much easier than the normal version. Really fun map, too.

i have been thinking of going back to advance wars one and beat its hard mode before doing 2 hard mode. or maybe i should jump into the DS games and finish them first. i honestly dont know.
