the genie was harder tbqh
sorry honey but I don't play bad games
I imagine this boss must have been easy for people half decent at schmups.
this
Robit was only as difficult as the amount of time it took for you to figure out the 1st phase.
git gud
I thought he was on the easy side, actually.
He may have a high bullet density and the magnet can fuck you up, but all his bullets really contrast against the red background, making them pretty easy to see. I thought Cala Maria and Genie was harder, because I never could quite get the hang of pre-petrification positioning.
I beat this on the third try with little difficulty.. can someone tell me why people hate this boss so much?
the laughter is annoying, and the concept is unoriginal, mad scientists in giant robots are a game cliche dating to at least mega man.
I think people get overwhelmed in the first stage and can't problem solve to figure out how to minimize the crap on screen.
I thought the dragon was harder. Hell, I think I even fought the bee and Bluto more than the robot
Haven't played many bullet hells Im guessing
Every boss is based on a trope though
This robot is legit first boss material in literally any other shmup.
Funny how the difficulty varies between people, I found the Genie extremely easy, while Dr. kicked my ass repeatedly
It's a fun game to discuss because of that, because you can brag how easy one boss is and then bitch how hard another is while another guy would do the opposite.
Pretty much this, trying to deal with all the shit that happens in the first phase is a pain in the ass, but the fight gets much easier after that
>I thought Cala Maria and Genie was harder
Genie yeah, but Cala Maria is arguably the easiest plane boss IMO. I guess the strategy I would recommend is nuking her eels ASAP.
I noticed it with the Dragon and the Bee but he legitimately isn't as hard as most people claim. 2/3 of his forms are much more consistent in attacks then most bosses and the difficulty most people seem to have from him comes from the fact people don't know what weaknesses to strike first.
If you always went for the crotch first after the 20th time it failed then I'm sorry that you're an idiot.
This one too. After dying once to the bull and twice to the ufos, this boss was really easy.
>Use bombs
>Suddenly p1, the only difficult phase, is a joke.
Of the bosses people complained about the most I thought both the Robot and Bee were on the easy side, the Dragon lived up to the hype though damn. Fuck those goddamn fireballs on the third phase.
This was the case for me. Once I figured out the threat assessment order for what to destroy first, the rest was easy peasy.
Pretty much this. First phase will mess with you since you don't know that when you destroy one of the three things it becomes something else. Once you know what they transform into then its a matter of destroying them in an order that you know you can deal with.
I actually didn't have much trouble with her myself.
Anyone else struggle with Beppi's final form? I'm on Xbone and I just couldn't seem to get there without getting down to 1HP and panic-jumping when those damn penguins with their fastballs.
Advice? I'm not looking forward to Fiery Frolic
This, but I just beat the game and can confirm it is shit.
Plane bosses were all jokes except for the bird on Expert desu fampai.
This game is bizarre because now I thought the genie was easy compared to this guy
The second phase of this boss was the hardest.
How many times did you guys die on your first playthrough? I died 529 and it made me realize I'm not as good as I thought I was.
200 times. Around 50 of that was because of that motherfucking dragon.
Surprisingly, King Dice only took me three.
It it tragic that such a beautiful art style got ruined by shit gameplay.
>every boss is easy except for the literally eziest boss
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hit 1k, I'm not gud so I just muscle through till I inevitably finesse it.
I had trouble with his final form until I found out you could kill the penguins he spits out. Then it wasn't too bad. Hardest part of Beppi was the random spawning of the balloon dogs that would sometimes fuck me over
>Advice? I'm not looking forward to Fiery Frolic
Are you against using certain weapons+charms? I know some anons are. But if not, I ran with charge shot, peashooter, and smoke bomb. Stay far back for the first phase and peashooter him down, only coming up to dodge his tail. Second phase, do the same, and make sure you're on one of the "second-from-the-highest" clouds, so that your peashooter is actually hitting him. Otherwise, don't actually watch yourself very much in this phase. Pay attention to the fireballs, and watch where they're jumping from. They'll always jump to the position you were at when they start winding up for a jump, so dodge according to that. Last phase is when you bust out the charge shot, as you don't want to be spamming too many shot and causing all the fireballs to split. Remember not to hang out in the middle row too much, as that's where one of the heads will flamethrower you.
Another viable option that a lot of people do is use lobber instead of Charge, as that allows you to take care of both his second and third forms fairly easily.
But it’s fun
There is no way that is possible. I beat most of the bosses rather easily, within 5 pulls, and some of the harder was between 10-20, but King Dice is impossible. I've spent maybe 3 hours on him but nothing, his actual phase is impossible to jump above the cards and parry. The closest I got was to just stand in the middle and just shoot at him while using the invincibility super.
You have to use the smoke bomb or regular dash and then parry as you fall on top of the cards, unless you luck out and the second or third card is pink
Bullet hell run and gun boss rush "games" will always be shit no matter how many anime tiddies you post now post moar faggot
I've tried, but I keep failing, they move to slowly for you to move onto the next pink card
Parry the same card twice
You know you can parry the same card more than once, right?
>King Dice is impossible
Not really. The key is mastering parries, which you should be by the time you reach the train boss, once you do that he's fine.
Planning out what space you want to land on greatly and timing parries is key to limit the amount of hell the mini-bosses give you. Then once you reach King Dice himself it's all about staying in the corner and being careful with your jumps, parry accordingly then Charge Shot him and repeat.
He is incredibly easy and Satan/Dragon/Bee was far more difficult for me.
Just keep bouncing on the same card for a bit
the boss was easy on my machine
>bullet hell
>run and gun
>boss rush
How do none of those constitute as gameplay?
He was one of the easier bosses, if you have any experience with shumps, his final phase is a joke.
It constitutes shit gameplay
Don't be afraid of parrying the same if you have to.
Just because you’re bad at them doesn’t make them shit. Do you also hate contra and megaman?
Real talk, fuck the train. I never see anyone bitching about it but it got by FAR the most frustration out of me. The gimmick wasn't very much fun and while I was learning the phases I definitely thought it had the most bs or 'unfair' deaths that I experienced throughout the game.
git gud faggot
the same people who think this is hard are the ones who complain about toxicity in games, namely overwatch. really activates the almonds.
>l-le your j-just bad
I literally just beat cupdick it took me like one try it's shallow trash face it sempai
Honestly I was getting fucked by all the parrying I just used the sugar charm (the one that makes auto parries) and made it a lot easier
Well there’s 32 posters in this thread and you’re the only one that doesn’t like it so
I literally beat it on my third try, you can just stand still for the first phase and shoot straight, ocassionally switching the aim gun for the flying fucks. Phase 2 is literally a walk since you can be between his hands no matter where they are. And phase 3 is just autoaim and dodge
It got way simpler for me when I stopped trying to parry every single brick that got dropped and either killed pumpkins from far away or let it drop and position myself accordingly. After I did that everything else fell into place pretty handily.
WHAT'S THE MATTER LITTLE FELLA?
I honestly loved how you actually needed to strategize and shift priories from the Pumpkins to the actual boss depending on the situation. Only his third form is really annoying.
I also don't like it
I guess all the kids who like COD compared to the fringe basement dwellers also make it good by your retard logic? Try again weebposter I am waiting for your next best fallacy
>Only his third form is really annoying
That one's actually the easiest if you know that standing all the way to one side of the screen keeps you out of range for both heads' attacks.
I’m not going to defend the game. I liked it as did a bunch of other anons you came in the thread and said it was shit. I don’t care. I like it you don’t I mean whatever who cares
Why bother shitting up a thread about a game you don't like/care for?
There are other ways to kill time that are less autistic
WOAH THERE, user. Cool your jets. You can't just post tanned Diana like that, it's a threat to my dick. It's already bad enough I'm thinking about the girls from Cuphead.
>the random spawning of the balloon dogs that would sometimes fuck me over
Just when you think you dashed to safety...
And don't get me started on their hurtboxes, I eventually just switched to spread for the last 3 forms, it rapes horse form if you're lucky enough to get under him without the coaster coming by.
>people had trouble with Bepi's balloon dogs
Do you people just not use spread shot?
Redditors such as your selfs need to be taught you have shit taste before you begin to feel accustom to posting I literally did just beat the game and saw a thread and thought I would shitpost in it, if you can't handle differing opinion maybe the neofag is more you speed?
Honestly this was the most difficult boss for me, I must have taken 50 tries. I could never get through the first phase without dying or taking 2 damage, then I'd inevitably die to choking during the bullet hell or some retarded position with the homing bombs. The ghost train, the dragon, the genie, king dice, cala maria, the bee, basically everything people complain about I had no problem with but this guy fucked my shit up. The devil was the only one that came close to being that difficult and even then, once you learn what's actually going on in his hell phases he's not hard.
Well ya just gotta _________________________________git gud
I did, but it took me a minute. Didn't realize ex spread actually can land every hit on 2nd and 4th phase if you land it dead center so I kept switching for ex peashooter shots.
Ok bud.
EX spreadshot is fucking amazing for certain bosses. Bepi, Werner Werman, even the last phase of Goopy if you can time it right.
Why would you use spreadshot when roundabout exists?
Why would I use roundabout when spreadshot exists? Though admittedly it's really good during the horse phase when you can't get under him because of the fucking train.
Roundabout + Lobber weapon switch abuse is by far the highest dps in the game, it makes most bosses a complete joke. You can skip entire boss phases because the damage output is so high
How do the weapon damages rank? Does roundabout on the way back to more damage than the peashooter? Does a full spread or lobber do more?
calm down
this is the only fight that gets easier with each phase
Maybe people aren't faggots who literally exploit bugs to win.
reddit.com
I found this. It doesn't take into account weapon switching like pointed out
It sounds good, but that's not really my style. Besides, if I skip phases how am I supposed to enjoy that glorious animation?
>becomes easier on expert mode
GOOD DAY FOR A SWELL BATTLE
>train boss took me 20 tries
>this boss took me 5 tries
I dont know man, I'm hoping expert has some challenge. I've limited myself to the original starting weapon in hopes that it gets harder.
Title?
>chaser
>roundabout does same damage regardless of direction fired
I'm heartbroken.
Only boss i was stuck for a while was the Bee with the RNG platforms and the total bullshit that was the final phase. Beppi is a close second because i always ended on the side of the screen on the third phase and either i was killed by touching the clown or run over by the train. Currently starting an expert playthrough now
I wouldn't necessarily call it a bug, more like abusing a game mechanic. Switching between bullets is literally encouraged
That said, saving your EX for when the boss is just about to transition and attempting to skip a phase is definitely bug abuse. Technically though you can do that with any weapon, it's just that lobber/roundabout is the easiest.
>sudden spike in difficulty
>third island boss
you are an idiot.
this guy is a fucking joke compared to grim matchstick
I defeated the damn robot at the 4th try, with the encounter with the scientist first try.
the Fat mermaid and the train were the hard ones.
beat him with no more difficulty than say the dragon or the mermaid
once you know the pattern to take it's just about doing it until you get it right
>works for me ;)
>Game where the bosses kill eachother
SHE'S NOT FAT
>Beat Maria, Brineybeard, Sally and Werner on Isle 3 so far
>Nothing has come close to fucking Wally Warbler to me
wally who?
