Agreed. 999 > VLR >> ZTD
>VLR>999>ZTD
This.
Can't believe they got lazy with the cover redesign. They just used the sprite when they're scanning their palms
I have only played 999 and that's all I need. I tried to get into the second but idk, it felt weird and dropped it.
That said 999 is 999/10
I never liked ZTE the moment I knew it was full sci-fy shit.
999 is the better game. VLR is the more enjoyable game.
No one would argue that.
VLR has it's moments though.
ZTD is garbage
>Tfw you'll never enjoy a root beer float with grandpa Jumpy
I wish this game had some good but subtle t-shirts.
characters
999 > vlr > ztd
plot
vlr > 999 > ztd
gameplay
vlr >>>>>> ztd > 999
VLR is the best in the series. Tell me I'm wrong. You can't.
Debate me right now, bitch.
Are these like puzzle games or some shit, I keep hearing people big up these games but I'm not sure why. Also if I was to get into the game, I think someone posted a spoiler from it a while ago which was some girl in a furnace and there were multiple timelines or something? Will knowing any of that be a problem if I played these
Vlr>999>a pile of shit> ztd
...
That's not much of a spoiler actually.
You're right.
The ONLY element of VLR that was objectively fucking garbage were the secret gold files. The multiple puzzle solutions were cool as heck and added a depth to each puzzle that was appreciated, but the translation for the secret files was so bad that in some cases it would outright spoil plot elements and others the text just went off screen and was unreadable
It's puzzle/visual novel
The first two games are really great
And it is a bit of spoiler that you know there are multiple timelines but you still don't know a lot of the twist
It's a room escape/visual novel. There are puzzle sections where you are trapped and try to find a way out, and then story sections where you occasionally get to make a choice.
>but the translation for the secret files was so bad that in some cases it would outright spoil plot elements and others the text just went off screen and was unreadable
Huh, really? I honestly don't remeber that being awful. Is there an example of this I can look up
Ah okay, so which are the first two? 999 and VLR? Is the PS4 compilation okay?
This is pretty much solid. I'd shorten the gap between VLR and ZTD in gameplay and widen the gap between ZTD and 999
Also atmosphere is
999>>>ZTD>>>VLR
How the hell can you guys place ZTD over anything in the series besides meme factor? What made the gameplay in 999 so bad besides having to restart the whole fucking game every time you wanted a different ending. If that's the reason then you're 100% right.
999 should really be played on a DS. the rest it's not a huge deal
if you don't have a DS, fine, but play it on an emulator instead. Seriously user, the DS version has many elements to it that couldn't be translated well to other systems
>3ds version of VLR is apparently bugged in that if you save in a certain room the game file just gets corrupted and you have to start over
>everywhere its posted absolutely do not save in that room
>get my copy of the game shipped to me off amazon
>get to said room
>save is just blacked out for it, think its strange and pay it no mind until i read about the aforementioned bug
>tell people my save was blacked out
>literally no one believes me
>What made the gameplay in 999 so bad besides having to restart the whole fucking game every time you wanted a different ending. If that's the reason then you're 100% right.
That is the reason. That and the puzzles are slightly more challenging in ZTD.
I think that was a patch they did because they couldn't figure out the problem lol
never could understand why people would want to save in a puzzle room anyway, like, it's a DS nigga just close the shell nigga hahahaha
that happened to me too. we may have had newer copies.
>The room 6 puzzles in 999
They ain't hard. I'm just too lazy for this shit.
Why did Zero stick all the pain in the ass puzzles in that room?
