Alright so I've read a ton of threads on the wow forums, mmo champ and now some Sup Forums threads and are the changes that need to be made according to the overall classic community. Many revisions done and things retracted. >rebalance >LFG tool most likely through addon >better mail system >no regreants >60 minute buffs >mage tables >no more soul shards >no hunter ammo >itemization overhaul (no more paladins in cloth warriors in leather etc) >updated models toggle *universally wanted >Cheaper level 40 mount >more quests, quest chains with no backtracking. >AV timer >more than 2 drops per boss >reverse timewalking (modern day raids in vanilla) >new raids later >newer classes added in somehow *universally wanted >achievements >hunter pets immune to aoe from pve sources >pvp system revamp (honor points some way to buy pvp gear) >guild banks >dual spec >more graveyards >improved AH >aoe looting >improved interface (autoloot options) >more flight masters >progressive patches from the start Anything else I'm missing before we send this to blizz?

yeah make sure each spec has a bunch of legendary items that radically alter game play but its pure rng whether you get the one you want or not. also let every item have a random chance to have twice the amount of stats. then the game would be perfect.

BC or WOTLK would be better imo

Of course there was problems in Vanilla, but the overall game and sense of community were amazing, that's why most people like it. And, since Blizzard has refused to remove things from their current game, that's what we have to go back to.
It's not hard to understand.
Juan Carter
For raids they just need raid tokens.
Rebalance is the most important thing, in Vanilla they had no fucking clue what to do with Hybrid classes like Druids, Paladins, Shamans. Druids didn't really become seriously playable until BC.
Owen Collins
There's so much shit wrong with this post but the one that takes the cake: >no fire / arcane mage Arcane is the highest DPS mage spec for early raids, and fire is the highest DPS spec for late raids. How dumb can you be, OP?
Juan Thomas
>going arcane or fire in MC lul
Chase Cooper
Yeah mounts used to take 3 seconds to cast and a small body of water would dismount them and items didnt have vendor prices on them.
Connor Kelly
It is but most bosses in mc had fire immunity and one had arcane
Anthony Adams
But Vanilla was for PvP
Carter Green
>reverse timewalking (modern raids in vanilla) Someone unironically asked for this????
Jaxson Sanchez
Feral druid is for leveling/tanking easy 5-mans. Ret is good in pvp when played correctly. Elemental shaman is great in pvp. Enhancement is for leveling. Sub/ass rogues are amazing in pvp. Arms warrior is amazing in pvp. All warlock specs are useful in pvp and pve. Fire mages are amazing after aq Beast mastery hunter is for leveling.
Basically, you obviously never played vanilla. Granted there are a few useless specs like prot pally (minus reckbombing meme), arcane mage, or boomkin.
Joseph Carter
31/0/20 is the highest mage dps spec in MC you mong

sub and ass are pvp meme specs, everyone was combat daggers / swords + mace (if you were human)

>ret paladins >steals fury warrior loot for ~epic pvp montage~ pls go

They sort of forced you to choose between pvping and pveing with specs. If you were causually raiding it didn't matter all that much. But if you were pushing progression you'd get replaced if you couldn't produce the dps.
Zachary Anderson
>"Steals" gear they need wew, nice

except gearing your raid properly is important so you can get to and clear naxx >paladin players will dispute this
William Hernandez
Except it's possible to do top DPS as ret pala in raids though retard
I will agree that that is one of the biggest faults with vanilla. The respec cost is too damn high. One of the very few changes I wouldn’t mind seeing is a lowered respec cost so I would feel like I can switch once or twice a week without spending all my money.

maybe on a private server that scales paladin damage spells with attack power, which isn't how it worked on retail

Am I genuinely the only one who just wants to relive the suffering of the halcyon days gone by?
I waited six months for my pauldrons. I waited nine for the second binding. I g r o u n d the arcanite. Just let me have this. 5 min buffs, reagents, 1-item mail. Mind controlling lowbies until they drown. Week long sieges of Hillsbrad. Nat Pagle, The Ashbringer, all the old horseshit intact.
Maybe I'm a masochist, but please... I want this. And I want it 90% as gnarly as the original. Let's go
Luke Barnes
So clearly you dont know shit then gg

This. Luckily judging from the interviews it seems that this is how Blizz wants to do it.
can't wait for classic servers. Even outside of ganking blizzard is killing the concept of WPvP with all these changes, especially on the cusp on an expansion that focuses primarily on the refueling of the Alliance vs Horde conflict.
Jose Diaz
>scales with spell damage >there are no spell damage and physical damage weapons
Early blizz saw paladins as a support class and they were very hesitant to make hybrid classes OP. And they were right to.
It ABSOLUTELY destroys the idea of having classes when hybrids outperform "pure" classes.
>also they didn't really understand how to gear their own game early on and hyperautists with dps spreadsheets led the charge for that
Ayden Nelson
Problem is once you get to endgame classes become essentially useless or get extremely pigeonholed. As a Vanilla WoW player from Day One, the game was very unbalanced and Blizzard didn't really know what to do with Hybrids until BC. Druids for example were simply not that viable of a class until Patch 2.05 (Early BC) from memory. (Though Feral is a fun levelling class)
After all, they're part of the Vanilla experience :^))))
Thomas Wilson
>no arms warrior Why are there so many people who don't know Arms dps warrs were a thing in Raids? Did they read up on meme ret paladins and just assume arm warriors don't work too?
Jordan White
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to enjoy vanilla WoW. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of game theory most of the features will go over a typical gamer’s head. There’s also Kaplan’s autistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his baby- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Lord British videogames, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this lack of QoL improvements, to realise that they’re not just fun- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike vanilla WoW truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the conviction in Kaplan’s existential catchphrase “Whoever came up with this sheer fisting of an encounter can go fuck themselves.” which itself is a cryptic reference to Carmack’s American epic Doom. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as J. Allen’s genius unfolds itself on their outdated computers. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a FOR THE ALLIANCE tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladyboys’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
Ayden Howard
Fury had a much simpler rotation while with arms you had to actually manage resources. If you had half a clue on how to gear and spammed buttons when they were up you could dps as fury.
Gavin Jackson
Problem with Hybrids is that they're just shit at everything and it makes them very underpowered compared to "pure" classes. Hybrids needed a fundamental rethink in how they played and made their options completely and totally unique instead of say Feral Druid just being a shit/rogue/waarrior, balance being a shit mage etc, they actually focused on a completely different aspect of magic that functioned differently from mage/warlock spells or feral focused on different gameplay mechanics from warrior/rogue. Like instead of having 3 distinct trees for Druids, maybe have them be a class that focuses on summoning animals and nature to fight for them and aura effects or something.
Justin Cruz
I have to give credit this is advanced level trolling we're witnessing
Jace Watson
Druids were top flag carriers hands down though. I’ve won many a wsg with a decent druid or two.

Its literally autistic people that miss grinding. 13 years to get blizzard to give in, not like thats a hard feat, they will probably be happy to jew up all your dollars while you literally eat shit playing the korean grinder version of the game.
Colton Fisher
Why do you think they're saying it's going to take so long to implement classic servers? Private servers get shit up left and right by teenagers, they could have classic servers up tomorrow if they wanted.
Easy, they're working on "additional features". They're going to balance classes, they're going to add quality of life shit like LFG, all the shit you DON'T want in classic. You know this to be true
Oliver Torres
Thanks. Forgot about brez too

The hybrid tax should be a thing and I was mad when ghostcrawler removed it
Chase Ross
You just don't fucking get it, do you nu-WoW? If you make hybrids better than pure classes then why have fucking classes? They have to be weaker than pure classes. To make up for this weakness they got group utility. Battle rez, BOP, buffs, inntervate, lay hands etc.
IF you make a druid a better physical damage dealer than a rogue or warrior, then whey even have a fucking rogue or warrior?
People like you created the shitshow of WoW because you fucking howled to make your little pet class overpowered at everything and cried rivers until they neutered every class and made them the same. You just had to have everything and wanted to give nothing.
Liam Green
the funny part is half the thread is just "lol fuck gankers" and the other half is people sharing their stories of having fun via PvP interactions with other players, not being aware that the new changes they're mentioning will remove even that.
I was never one for ganking (unless they had it coming), but i did like to mess with people constantly while out and about in the world (like dropping from the air on my rogue and sapping them, or just chain traps and taunting on my hunter). But none of that is going to happen anymore because with Actiblizz the crybabys always get their way while all the people playing to have fun get fucked over.
Asher Ortiz
Being a hybrid works in PvP, it doesn't work in PvE at least not with wow's combat system
Christopher Edwards
Not one animal. Have them summon multiple mobs at once.
It's just an idea. But it's just a sad fact that classes like Druids didn't really function like I think Blizzard wished they did (you can even see in the official Vanilla Manual/Box that Druids even when Retail was being pressed functioned differently than they did when retail went live, their main weapons were supposed to be Glaives and Spears.
Christopher Smith
Blizzard literally just said "we're doing it". No when or how, just "yeah we're on it"
The fuck are you on about, we know literally nothing

It's fucking 10 years later you massive fucking faggot stop there's no point shilling for your class in a fucking dead game. Holy shit you just will not let this go will you?
Grayson Edwards
You can play Power Infusion spec in PVP.
29/11/11 27/13/11 are both really good PVP specs. Feral is good enough for a raid spot if you know how to powershift, and is just as good as Warrior at tanking from 1-59.
Paladin's are the best class in vanilla WoW. Their buffs are godly, and they are almost as good at healing as priests are. They don't need any buffs. Just because you don't like the way the class works in vanilla doesn't mean they have any problems.
You can play Enh and Elemental in PVP perfectly fine.
Rogue has the best talent trees of any class, there are so many different viable rogue builds for PVE and PVP. What the fuck are you talking about?
Arms Warriors are godly in PVP, and your offtanks can even raid as 31/5/15.
Sounds like you just don't like the way the Warlock class was in Vanilla. SM Ruin is an affliction spec, and DS is a demo spec. It's not the same class it was in later expansions.
All mages are Fire in AQ and Naxx. Arcane is a meme PVP spec for fun.
Beast Mastery is the best leveling/soloing spec in the game. Survival is the raid spec once you get a certain amount of Agility.
Liam Lopez
Nice reading comprehension you have there
Joseph Edwards
Here's your (you). Now what copypasta does this derive from?
Tyler Young
Then don't be a hybrid if you want to pve. You can have more than one char you know
QQ moar
Jacob Bell
You're neglecting something very important about world pvp. Alone, you were a target. In a group, you were much more of a threat. A threatening environment increased the "social" element of WoW by motivating people to come together for safety.
Was there any better feel than grouping with a frew friendos and steamrolling gankers?
Blizz tried to let every little cuck have their own shed and it killed the game. It's "world" of warcraft not "my little cuckshed"
Juan Cruz
I'm literally saying Hybrids should be completely reworked so they don't really function like pure classes. The fact is, Druids, Ret Paladins etc were all fucking USELESS in Vanilla. Nobody wanted them for raids, they were shit in PVP (the joke at the time was all Druids could do is spam moonbeam) and they just didn't work with WoW's combat or class mechanics. It's obvious classes like the Druids were afterthoughts because mechanics didn't even function correctly, had to transform out of animal form to speak to NPCs, the box and manual states their gameplay is different from how they actually play in live retail. When I was playing Druid at the time, I instantly noticed a massive improvement in Druid gameplay when 2.0.3 went live.
Classes like Rogues and Warriors did not die with this patch.
Daniel Sanchez
You can't fucking fool me. I know exactly where the end of your reasoning goes.
Austin Phillips
fuck off, vanilla with bugfixes or there is literally no point
go play retail with all your "changes" you giant faggot
Jason Cruz
Paladin is the best class in Vanilla WoW. Just because you don't like the way the class played doesn't mean they were bad or needed a rework.
Same with Druid, and it's really hard to justify any of your bitching about druid because like I said 29/11/11 and 27/13/11 are both really good balance PVP specs, and people have become more receptive of a feral or two in a raid because of powershifting.
Jason Bell
Yes, we all understand that you wanted your pet class to be better than all the others. And we all understand that if you got what you wanted it would kill the game.
You want to stack the deck for yourself. You've always wanted to stack the deck for yourself. You're the type or person that can never be given any power or authority because you're 100 percent self serving.
Dominic Ward
HEY DRUIDS SPAM LEVEL 1 HEALING TOUCH AND A BATTLE REZ EVERY HALF AN HOUR THATS ALL YOU DO NOW, GREAT GAME!
Of course raids have Druids, it's hard to find 40 players. Druids are only kept in raids for some of the Buffs and Battle Rez. Endgame Druids is boring AF and even then, Druids were still massively underpowered and outclassed by everyone on every level. Also again my point is, Druids should have functioned differently from the beginning, it's a shit idea to just have underpowered "hybrid" classes because WoW combat system and raid mechanics (and skill trees) don't function around versitility.
Charles Edwards
>Some of the reason for why we're not ready to talk about that is... we actually don't know yet. The important announcement today was: we're doing this. >Why do you think they're saying it's going to take so long to implement classic servers? Private servers get shit up left and right by teenagers, they could have classic servers up tomorrow if they wanted.
becuase it seems like the idea was manifested 10 minutes before Blizzcon started. Eurogamer did an interview with J. Allen Brack and he basically said that they *just* got an old version of vanilla WoW up and running, and most of the work is going to be porting that over to more modern development tools and not have it completely shit the bed. (because apparently Blizzard had never heard of a thing called version control)
Their current plan (at least stemming from that interview) is first they get a working build of the classic game up and running, then do all the work required for it to run on modern hardware. once that's done then they start looking at things like which version to implement (possibly with the help of the guys from Nost, as they also mention they've been in contact with them since their big meeting a while back, including senior blizz staff doing an OG scholo run with them)
right now they're still not even close to the first stage
Josiah Gonzalez
I'm not talking about the TIME, guy, I'm talking about them adding shit so it won't be a "true" vanilla

Raids were tuned around each class performing one role. This made boss design significantly easier and more flexible for the designers.
Xavier Moore
Sorry I'm not a massive fucking nostalgia fag who enjoys broken and bad mechanics and poor balancing. The fact is and near everyone agrees, that WoW balanced peaked with BC and WotLK. I still think Vanilla is the best WoW, but there are severe improvements it could have that wouldn't ruin the core game, balance is one of them, guild banks, raid tokens and something to fix the overly grindy nature of the game on every level is another. It wasn't Balance fixes or guild banks that ruined WoW, it was flight, LFG/LFR insta-teleport to instance, abandonment of World PVP, shit writing etc that ruined WoW. I think most people would agree with that if BC didn't add Flying Mounts, it would be the best WoW mechanics wise. (though I personally despise outlands)

It's almost like they use Blizzcon to generate interest and hype and then fail to deliver on it. Boy when have they ever done that?

simply not true. just go find videos of the guilds that were pushing progression during vanilla. death and taxes, nihilium, etc. There are videos of many of these kills. These fights were very difficult and overtuned to the point where these guilds had to have the best possible gear and perfect raid makeup. There are druids for all of these kills because they are a good class.
Christopher Morgan
>I'm not talking about the TIME >Why do you think they're saying it's going to take so long to implement classic servers? Yes, you were. Now kindly shut your face.
Michael Collins
>There are druids for all of these kills because they are a good class.
There are Druids for these kills for Battle Rez and some of the buffs. Please, I did Naxx back in the day, raiding as a Druid was boring as fuck and most Druids were instantly dropped for Priests.
Carson Foster
>>no disc priest >>no balance / feral druid >>no protection / retribution paladin >>no enhancement / elemental shaman >>no sub / ass rogue >>no arms warrior >>no afflict / demo warlock >>no fire / arcane mage >>no beast mastery / survival hunter except most of those were raid viable in some way or another with few exceptions.
Disc priests was a great spec for geared priest who didn't need the holy talents to pull decent healing. Balance and feral druid buffed party members. Enhancement shaman was a good way to make sure the windfury group's dps was maximized. Arms warrior was a better choice for fresh warriors until they were consistently bwl geared or higher. Fire mage did decent damage once you got past the raid content where everything's fire-immune. Survival hunters could tank nef.
