PS4 fag here, has anything been improved over the ps4 version? I know the console version already had a 60 fps mode because team ninja are fucking madmen. Is there a reason for me to double dip?

So far good. Its my first game of the whole souls/borne kind. Im definitely going to play the souls trilogy after I beat this ( although the first one looks really ugly).

The only thing I dislike so far is that I have to go tru a menu to see the loot I picked up. Will take some getting used to I guess.

I swear they've changed enemy placement from PS4 version. I played the game at lease. I swear there was a fire wheel enemy in the first mission in that burning village.

It's fun. I'm six hours in and I've cleared the first three missions and all the associated side missions, because I'm shit.

Complaints so far - Healing system is kinda weird but now that I've got more collectibles it's working fine, tonfas are fun as fuck but have no tracking so they're useless, I have no idea how superarmor works in this game.

Also this, the boss fights do seem a little bit excessively tanky.

I have a 1080p setup so after 3 or so hours I'd say 8/10

Just beat the vampire boss, I'm loving it. Runs great too on my modest machine.

Played a good bit of it on PS4 already. Runs at steady 60 frames with all settings enabled/on high bar shadows (medium) and motion blur (shit setting, off) at 1080p. 970/4790k.

Darksouls - though this changed slightly over time - tended to reward more defensive gameplay, whereas in Ni-Oh guarding is something you do more for parries vs human enemies. No shields esse. Also there's a basic combo system for special abilities, which you level up to receive. I'll admit the differences are minor but they're there.

You'd probably hate souls if you played this first.

Fight a bunch of revenants for Glory, and join a clan so you can get more Glory for clan victories. Shouldn't take long to get 70,000 Glory. (or 100,000 for best girl Okatsu)

You can see the names of items/gear before you pick them up, though. I think there's also an item pickup log on the side of the screen; shows what you just picked up for a few seconds. You can also set it to NOT show items' names in the pickup log unless it's above a certain rarity; really handy later on.

they have a cheat protect. a pretty shitty one at that. you can edit item count pretty easily, but gold doesnt work. i havent tried amrita. someone made a table that apparently works if you use it at the main menu. take a look at fearlessrevolution(dot)com

the game is a KT port. it only scales in 16:9 resolution meaning anything else is shittily stretched

It spawns in a side mission in that village right after. I don't remember it having a fire wheel in the first mission either. I'm at umi-bozo and it seems the same otherwise. They might have buffed some bosses though since I had a bitch of a time with the lightning doge side mission asshole.

I need to know how it runs on my machine. It's a an aging mid tier build and no benchmarks or reviews out there will have my specs.

Shame. I was really hoping for something as difficult as the Alpha, but I remember a downgrade in difficulty from there to the beta even. Guess I'll push through to see if I enjoy the content past those stages.

Not a fan of the newer weapons either. Spear still feels like the only weapon with an interesting and varied moveset.

If you're using light armour, you should really avoid getting hit. If you get heavy armour you can be surprisingly tanky vs regular enemies, though bosses will still tear you a new one at times.

I hope you niggas are upgrading your weapons. Those early boss fights literally only take a couple minutes to kill if you're decently aggressive. If you're taking too long to kill them it means your weapon sucks or you're being too passive.

Interesting. That is something I really like about Ni-Oh. The ability to combo and not just try to mindlessly dodge and attack. Feels satisfying. Im kinda getting (better late than never) why this games are so revered. This kind of combat system is ultra fun. Coming from a game like the witcher which was tumble, quen and spam X, this is a typhoon of fresh air.

Flux gives you a ton more stamina back and if you're quick enough you can switch back into your preferred stance, once you master it you will never lose your Ki.
