Nioh

Is the port okay? I've read mixed reviews on Steam, wondering if it'll just crash on me.

who cares, pirate it

but user...think of the devs ;_;

It looks like half the people complaining can't figure out that the resolution is changed from the launcher, and the other half is complaining about the lack of mouse support which seems like a nit pick anyway since clearly a controller is going to be best for something like this.

The mouse part is pretty hilarious. Some guy did mention only getting black screens even after launcher though, but hey if it's rare...

do you think you sound cool or something?

I am thinking of the devs

>pc game with no mouse support
>cant even rebind keys
>shit performance

>Plays Souls games with a mouse to begin with
>Pirates a game he can't play

Runs well once you figure out the backward-ass logic of the launcher.

Game's a bit of a beast though in terms of performance. My 970 has a hard time running it fullscreen and a YT vid at the same time.

been playing the pirated version for hours now and not one crash

I'm gonna be real with you, I have an 860m. I'm prepared to end all processes and reduce resolution to ash. Does the launcher have anything else you can fiddle with?

no, its not, i cant even launch it, fucking black screen

>Plays Souls games with a mouse to begin with
DS games are perfectly playable with a mouse, this trash is not. Day 1 pirate even though I own all 3 DS games on Steam.

Its a very basic bitch config. Resolution, Textures, Shadows, FPS toggle for 30/60 cap. Ambient Occulsion on/off switch, motion blur, Windowed/Borderless/Fullscreen.

When I'm not multi-tasking though, game runs fairly well. on a 960 I get about 50fps fullscreen, 60 when I bring it down to 1600x900

What's your CPU?

PS4bro here. I don't really play on PC (I played Cave Story on PC, and sometimes some Counter Strike, but that's pretty much it). How is the game itself? I have $250, and I'm considering getting it along with Horizon Zero Dawn. Just the game itself, please no console wars.

I have a i7 4790k and a r9 390

1440p with no motion blur (who wants that shit) and shadows at medium instead of high (which basically looks identical)

60 fps all the time.

THe game also has dynamic resolution scaling if you select "action mode"

You will most likely be fine.

Only thing is no mouse support, but if you wanted to use a mouse you should probably kill yourself.

My friend crashed once in the tutorial and hasn't crashed since and I have not crashed at all. Both played for 3 or so hours.

This, fuck koei tecmo
Port it properly or don't bother

It's fun but if H:ZD interest you you might not like it because it's not dog shit.

>shit performance
Works on my machine on high quality shitlord, stop playing games on your fucking phone.

i5-4460, 3.2GHz

The options are basic but it runs fine, just set it to Action mode if you have a not so great PC & it will keep 60fps by dropping your resolution

I just really like adventorous games, and I haven't played a good one since Bloodborne.

My computer is a bit of a potato. FX 8320 with a 970. Playing on high with shadows off in 1080p I don't dip below 60 fps at all

As for the game itself, I'm one of those "tired gamers" that's sick of all the shit coming out and Nioh reignited a spark I haven't felt in ages

My meme'ing aside if you like BB you will most likely like Nioh.

How are you going to play it doesn't support the mouse, even if you pirate it?

>Shit performance

But it doesn't have shit performance.

Damn dudes thanks

Anytime my game drops sub 60 FPS it just plummets to 30. 60 to 30, nothing in between. Only in borderless as well. Seems like it doesn't have triple buffering vsync, although enabling triple buffer in nvcontrolpanel doesn't fix it.

I usually hate playing in standard fullscreen, but seems I'll have to for this. Lowest I've seen it in fullscreen is like 57 FPS or so

This. Koei Tecmo actually did a decent job for once, but due to their bad track record of ports, people just assumed the game was fucked so they didn't even try troubleshooting anything

>Anytime my game drops sub 60 FPS it just plummets to 30.
turn off frame smoothing if you can.

Works quite well with my 1060 6gb. Some noticeable frame drops but they're very short.

I don't know what/where that is in the control panel

make sure adaptive vsync is off on global nvidia/amd settings

I don't see how anyone have problems with this port. I didn't read anything about the port beforehand, and I haven't encountered a single problem. The launcher started up normally, and I set everything to low, but kept resolution at 1080p since my gfx sucks (geforce 670). No confusion with launcher or anything at all.

>Game designed around using a controller
>Bitch that is doesn't have mouse support
>Bitch that it's unplayable with a mouse
Why do you loath controllers so, to put yourself through such pain, simply to complain about it.
Thats like complaining that a mouse is too OP in shooters when you chose to use a controller.

The game also runs smoothly at 60 fps with these settings

>turn everything low
>wow why am i not having problems???
wew

Then you should honestly buy a Switch for BotW and Xenoblade 2. No other company is doing adventure as well as Nintendo right now.

3CGIG-XIV6Q-PTN5A

>bard's tale
t-thanks lad

Considering my gfx is way below the minimun, ofc I turn everything on low just to be sure. If people are trying max settings, but do not have the required hardware, I don't see how they then can complain if the answer is so obvious

has anyone figured out how to get past that "not enough hard disk space" bug? I've reinstalled the game twice on 2 different drives with around 300 gbs free.

>literally no AA support whatsoever
getting real sick of this shit in PC ports

wait what?!

Perfomance is good on my 1070. Controls are just as good/bad as you're forced to use a gamepad, haven't tried to use the keyboard. During 8 hours it's only frozen once, otherwise it runs at 60 frames all the time and 30 in cinematics.

Outside of graphics there is no reason to buy it if you already own it, unless there is some new content being added to the game later.

so while i wait for the game to download.. anyone got any suggestions or tips?

Graphics seem to be kind of shit, but it's well optimized. Played for 2 hours (past my refund period uh oh) and it seems okay so far.

Hitting / getting hit on the back causes increased damage.
Onmyo magic is very useful.
Don't play it like a Souls game, you'll die. Just learn the game from scratch.

Learn how to use Ki pulse, or get that upgrade that lets you trigger pulses while dodging.

>Don't play it like a Souls game, you'll die. Just learn the game from scratch.
Playing it like Souls will work fine, only difference is that blocking is actually useful, including against yokai and even bosses.

Not sure if armor is worth it though.

How much should I be focusing on the timing of Ki pulses? I notice with the tonfa attacks I have a pretty huge recovery period. Like, do I pulse after every combo or single attack?

>using AA instead of rendering in 4k

stop holding back video games poorfag

Armor is quite useful due to its damage reduction %. Obviously the heavier armor gives the most reduction.

pulse after a combo

>unless there is some new content being added to the game later

Nah, planning for a sequel had already begun by the time the 3rd DLC pack was finished a few months back.

It's only a total of 15% or something I've found, or does the percentage increase on lategame armor? So far I've only found it to be static, and it doesn't seem to help much since you already die from 1-2 hits from bosses.

>pc gamers

i don't want to do some retarded workaround bullshit like downsampling just to get a slight reduction in jaggies while also adding a shit load of input delay.

I can't remember on the initial difficulty, but my current armor (chest) gave me a total of about 7.5% initial, plus some 2% after max familiarity. The full set is probably about 35% or so after bonuses. Not sure if heavy armor is worth in in Way of the Samurai though, since I played about 3 difficulties using light armor.

God, it's the alpha demo all over again

Isn't that explained to you as a tutorial?

WHERE IS MY TRAINER MR.ANTIFUUUN???

he's in the tutorial. He's stuck at the part of the tutorial that plops a yokai zone down and tells you to purify it

How can these people even survive in real life?

I forgot how much the real first boss sucks. The only bosses still in my memory were the ice bitch, the super easy spider bitch, bird bitch, and moth man so I completely forgot about the tiny boat room.

I'm sure Lingon will make one by tomorrow

force that shit through your control panel

Character unlocker when? I'm not going to farm Prestige for online because fuck PVP in these games.

He could be completely new to the franchise or genre in general and has difficulty grasping the mechanics.

Runs great on my 1080Ti in 1440P

Where the fuck from? Any recommendations? In all seriousness, I normally dont pirate games but fuck it. I really wanna play. Someone please help me. I will post nudes.

then just do co op? Co op gives a big chunk. Otherwise you also have the option of farming revenants.

I thought the pc version only has 720, 1080 and 4k resolution rendering?

Screen resolution setting is just how big the game window is.

The London area is actually badly optimized, probably because of the heavy weather effects and fog. But once you reach Japan proper, you get a massive FPS boost. I can see why a lot of people dropped the game from the start.

Skidrow.net. Otherwise, just lurk one of the many threads from the archives.

I for one went into a screeching fit and destroyed my PC after it dropped to 45fps in London.

mouse only faggots are terrible. the only ones worse are ultra wide screen faggots complaining about bars.

It's okay

I'm running it on a 970M laptop and can get 60fps running at 720p

It's no DMC4 level of port but its fine for what it is.

These mousefags are preople who spent a fortune on their custom mice with gimmicky flashy neon lights, so I can understand why they'd get frustrated that they cant use it.

Didn't DS 1 also have a shit port?
i know Koei Kekmo didn't make ds 1 or port it.
This is why you never buy day one anyway

Don't you ever talk to my blacksmith waifu, faggot. She's MINE.
Also don't waste time soul-matching shit until the endgame, as enemies in the game literally explode with new and better gear constantly.
Try not to dress like a complete retard.

no mouse support. japanese tier keyboard layout.
no options to change bindings

I do have NVIDIA DSR enabled, which explains 1152p.

as i said that's just the screen resolution my dude

that has no effect at what the game renders at.

blacksmith girl you say? il atleast go and say hello to her.
noted
and dont worry i have studied japanese history for this very moment

Yeah that part runs like complete ass. I was getting almost sub-30 through it with my 1050ti.

when you port a game without it to a system that uses a mouse as the main input you fucked up.

Toughness reduces the amount of stamina you lose by guarding, so with high toughness, you can block pretty much everything instead of rolling around.

straight percentage of reduction adds up pretty fast. Raging Bull grants you even more DR % that scales with the gear level as well.

DR isn't the reason to use heavy armor, though. You use it because if you also have a spirit that reduces guarding ki costs as well as mid guard ki reduction on your weapon you can block for almost no cost at all.

I'll play it with a controller, of course. Doesn't mean I'm going to pay for a game with no mouse support, though, since I'm not a cuck.

but i buy mmo gaming mice because they are good for my arthritis. i still dont understand

i bet you complain about driving games not working well with mouse either.

How the fuck would you even ki pulse/change stance/dash on the fly with a mouse?

>Try not to dress like a complete retard.

I hear there is armor morphing in this game. When do you unlock it? My william looks really goofy right now. He's wearing that warlord armor from the shack with the steam kabuto, but my best pant set is a pair of faggy shorts

He sounds right.

The blacksmith does that, along with cutting your hair.

If I use a katana and spear, what stats should I be leveling up?

It's some blacksmith feature iirc. It's cheap and easy and you can morph it into any item you've collected previously. Stats and shit all stay the same so abuse the hell out of it.

Level up screen literally tells you what weapons each stat influences.

Any of the extra buttons on a gaming mouse, whereas stance change could be mouse scroll. See . These people complaining have used nothing but mices their whole lives.
