Literally the only good part of this shitty game.
With a backstory that is literally "try to be edgier than the edgy guy", some of the goofiest dialogue in the series, and admittedly good music, he's the only entertaining element.

Before Episode Shadow, I thought he was simply an illusion that Eggman created to best Sonic, but now that bit where he is forcibly warped off after being beaten now doesn't have any resolution if he was an actual real person.
