One of my favorite games

amazing game. one of the last original titles that really did something great in the last few years.

I wish this fucker wasn't so prone to falling. I like when I get to hear NPCs say something before they die. Not silently falling to their deaths and having to reload to grab some loot.

It's got a better story than most games in the past few years. But you have to dig to understand it. It doesn't just jump out at you through cinematics.

Fantastic game that managed to be the best of its series while trying something new at the same time. If you love its aesthetic, it'll stay with you forever.

It has the most straightforward and best plot of any souls game and better plot than any game in a long ass time.

Dark Souls 3 is better.

By that logic you could say Dark Souls is a rehash of Demons Souls to. Or that Demon Souls is a rehash of King's Field/Otogi. Just because it builds upon its predecessors doesn't take away from its merit.

I'm torn on the minimalist plot. You read item descriptions, piece together clues from obscure NPC dialogue, and it's like damn it's enough that the game is difficult, why the fuck did they have to make the story difficult too?

Is it a masterpiece of lore or intentionally obfuscated to "really make you think" and then make Bloodborne highly talked about on forums where nerds will inevitably argue about the plot with each other.

One thing I did like though, is that there's far less guide-dang-it than the Souls games. There is still some, but I think it's fair. Although the path to fighting Queen Yharnam could have been a little clearer.

The combat is great, and I love the boss designs.

Love the blood effects and unironically the literal fedoralord feel.

The story is intended to let your own imagination fill in the gaps. Same with every souls game. The lore is just a cherry on-top with the main draw being the gameplay, art/level/sound design and music.

Bloodborne is the only ARPG by From that has a coherent plot, you just need to piece it all together. There's no "well maybe it happened this way, maybe it happened another, who knows lol" like Dark Souls.
