And that "big" game is a non ambitious 2D platformer Kirby, and that's still all the way in Spring. Meaning there's no big retail release at all for the first 3 to possibly 5 months of 2018 currently. Only indie games such as Bit Trip Runner 3 and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, along with a port of Dragon Quest Builders 1, and Lost Sphear. Yoshi still has a generic 2018 release window, and even if it did release in the first half of 2018, it's still just another unambitious quasi-2D platformer. Nintendo needs to reveal their plans soon, because after Xenoblade 2, were looking at a very empty & unambitious first half.
I know more games will be announced and shown with release dates, but Nintendo needs to start carving their 2018 path. 2018 is literally only 1 & 1/2 months away, yet we are going into the new year completely blind in terms of games to look forward to for the first 6 months. Compared to Sony and Microsoft who have God of War, Crackdown, State of Decay 2, Spiderman, Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Nino Kuni II, Far Cry 5, Sea of Thieves, etc. All slated for January to June. Compare those lineups to... Kirby. You can see what I'm talking about when I say unambitous in terms of the games themselves. Kirby and Yoshi will 90% be good games, but they are safe, derivative, boring games in comparison to pretty much any other game I just listed.
What are your thoughts?
Levi Richardson
Xenoblade 3 is already being worked on
Christopher Price
>nintendo already lost interest

Wait for the january direct

Forty keks. Still mad about botw sony kek?

I just bought my console the other day. So I got mario now and I am going to get Zelda around xmas time. After I am done with that I am getting Xeno 2. By the time I am done with that Kirby will definitely be out.
The rest of 2018 I still have Yoshi and Octopath to look forward to. And probably a small title that will be really well done. Like for example Snipperclips Plus is really good, I just have no friends so I wont get it.
Also not to mention smaller titles like Bomberman and FE Warriors might have decent price drop 2nd half of 2018.
Noah Lee
own all the consoles and play only the best games??? No need to fight over it.
Logan Barnes
But Sony

>2018 hasn't started yet >we don't know what they'll he doing in 2018 yet What's your point? Don't they usually do a big direct at the start of each year outlining their plans?
Aiden Nguyen
My line of reasoning is you are a scaredy cat. Trust in Kimishima, Koizumi and the new Nintendo blood dev teams.
William Parker
I have six games that i still need to finish. I also bought this badass game. And this is only the first year. I'm good for a while.
David Hill
Fire Emblem has also been announced for 2018, as well as Octopath Traveler, which is not developed nor published by Nintendo, but is an exclusive nonetheless. We don't have release infos for Shin Megami Tensei V, Metroid Prime 4 or Pokémon Switch, but I wouldn't completely discard the idea of one them being a 2018 game. Something that people tend to forget is that Arms and Splatoon 2 will have free DLCs up to at least mid-2018, Kingdom Battle has its story DLC announced for early 2018 and now we know that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has an expansion pass too. Most importantly, we didn't know any Switch games outside of the Breath of the Wild before January this year, so it's reasonable to expect that they will clarify their 2018 lineup in an upcoming Nintendo Direct.
No. Monolith is making a fantasy-themed action game. Pic related.
Alexander Martinez
>console-tier graphics and gameplay I know this is a shitpost, but can you explain to me what you mean by this? Can anyone explain to me he means by this?

>2018 is literally only 1 & 1/2 months away So what, they always do a January direct...
Evan Ramirez
Rushing to talk about what's happening in 2018 would not be smart. The holidays are right around the corner, and right now, Nintendo needs to keep people talking about their 2017 offerings. Those are the games Nintendo needs to move consoles, right now.
Nolan Russell
Dis. The hype train did his work for the holidays. Now they watch.
Grayson Wood
>still all the way in Spring What? It's slated for Q1
Jason Bell
>Nintendo needs to reveal their plans soon They don't have any plans, you dense fuck. The plan with the Switch was to see if they could get the last few bucks out of manchildren by releasing yet another console. For that plan, they switched Odyssey development off the Wii U, and moved a few 3DS titles in development onto the Switch too, giving the appearance of new content to idiots.
Now the console is actually a success, they're fucked. They didn't think it'd actually work, so they didn't overinvest in new development. It'll be 2019 at the earliest before they can pump out anything interesting for it.
Isaiah Hughes
...

dumb frogposter
Ryan Stewart
What did we know about the Switch by this time last year? That's right, nothing. Now shut the fuck up and wait for the usual January Direct, dumb frogposter.

>Spiderman I'd be surprised if we saw this before December 2018.

This time last year we didn't even know Mario Odyssey existed, now literally the gotyay
Isaac Phillips
Honestly I'm pretty content with the games that have come out so far so they could take a break from releasing so many games I have to play.
Bentley Robinson
Nintendo has definitely shot its wad so to speak and with projects that was originally being deved for the Wii U. (lets face it Odyssey started as a Wii U title even if it wasnt announced) and it will be a while yet before the first real Switch games start coming out.
they would be smart to make some smaller/lower budget titles to fill the gap like another A Link Between Worlds top-down Zelda. put those displaced 3ds devs to work
switch is gonna be pretty dry but they done good cementing its place for now. when the next batch of games come in a few years it will have a solid place for them (unlike what happened with the Wii U)
Juan Barnes
>he doesn't know
Angel Price
>Odyssey started as a Wii U title even if it wasnt announced) love this meem
