Since Heroes introduced people to older characters, they should add a popular axe or spear using unit. Or better yet, a Dragon.

Jigglypuff is pretty much granfathered into the series by assiciation of the N64 game. same reason why Captain Falcon keeps coming back even without a new game in 20 years.

the anime is best remembered from the first and probably second generation. Out of all the hot girls porkymon has spat out, Misty is the number 1 hit on search results when it comes to fap. the anime is like the simpsons in this regard: the early episodes are the most highly remembered. and it's not like the modern generation is without the first season to watch.

You will get a port at best, nobody will take those reins, it's too big a project for literally anybody except Sakurai. Nintendo takes fucking forever to make games of the same quality other companies crank out every single year, punctually. Their first party titles still have goddamn jaggies. They regularly take so long to make a thing that it ends up being on their old console and their new one at launch.

Sakurai needed the combined might of Nintendo AND Namco just to playtest Smash4. He forcibly held the dev team together several months longer than Nintendo had scheduled, just to crank out DLC and the Fighter Ballot.

You will at best get a port with all DLC and nothing added, because the rest of Nintendo doesn't have a fuckin' clue how Smash works. Only Sakurai and HAL know how to work with the engine, and Nintendo has such an insane amount of honorabruness that they'd never make their own Smash without Sakurai. We know this because, when they announced Smash Bros for Wii ahead of asking Sakurai, their only plan was to release an unaltered port of Melee, maybe with Wii netcode tacked on, if Sakurai declined to make an entirely new game. And he has repeatedly said as development wrapped up, that the game simply has too many characters for them to make another one, it is considered a monumental effort of blood, sweat and tears to make a Smash sequel.

There won't be a Smash5, if a Switch port adds anything it will be purely cosmetic, maybe new trophies or new alts or some shit, nothing like balance patching or any stuff like that. In which case just go back to playing Smash4 modded through Haxchi.
