LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE

I knew you fags would ruin the community just like you did to the Souls community.
Is that the dude in the house who drops a key in the first mission? That's a common enemy in the next level, get used to it.
Wasn't aware the Nioh Alpha was on PC.
Pussy. His head is weak spot, aim for it to stagger him.
cmon, dont start console war now.
FPBP
Filthy gaijin is holding that katana the wrong way, enjoy shitty draws.
t. false flag
this, every single time
Same for chick then
it's a self-imposed challenge, jesus
Wait til you get to the burning pagoda
He's talking about what way the sheath is curving, the girls is curving the right way for quickly drawing a blade.
did you try taking her to the hotspring and undressing in front of her?
Nope, there wasnt one in this level. Something happens?
oh ok, just noticed. Thats weird
this game stinks, turn it off
this is the alpha that was on ps4
No it's not, the game was nerfed a lot from how hard the alpha and beta were.
No matter what it turns out to be, The Mark of the Conqueror is significant.
Before I say why I need to divide the Souls community into two general groups - Conquerors and Conquered - and quickly define both.
Both have basically been around since Demon's Souls, but the very nature of the Conquered demands that the Conquerors come first. Why? Because Conquerors beat the path and light the way. Afterward, like mold or a rot, the Conquered seep into the community, ever at the heels of the Conquerors.
How is that? Either by a lack of information upon release or due to a self-imposed restriction, the Conqueror goes in blind. Conquerors embrace the challenge From Software has extended with each release in their Souls/Bloodborne Series while the Conquered abhor it. While Conquerors scratched and clawed their way through levels and boss fights, the Conquered poured over FAQs, Strategy Guides, Wiki Articles, Google Search Results, Let's Plays and How to Videos.
Therefore the Conquered subsist by virtue of the illumination spread over From's games by the Conquerors, entirely dependent on it. Overtime they've let themselves forget this, fancying themselves old hands as they bring their borrowed knowledge and tactics to bear on each successive release.
And then here comes f***ing Nioh, reminding the Conquered who they really are. And with little to no documentation in sight they hide behind s***posts so they can cling to that "gud" status they worked so hard to attain. Eventually they'll be back. Once the Conquerors have shown the way, that is.
And that's why The Mark of the Conqueror is significant. No matter how superficial, uselessly cosmetic or quickly outclassed it is, it still says I'm not this guy No, I'm a Conqueror.

That picture might be, but that not what the PC players are playing
Pretty sure the style is era variant. Blade-down is more old fashioned, blade up is more recent. Might have something to do with tachi vs katana too.
We're on Patch 1.21 which IIRC went out for PS4 on PC launch day. Should be identical now.
Falsflagging this hard
>Filthy gaijin is holding that katana the wrong way, enjoy shitty draws.
>He's talking about what way the sheath is curving, the girls is curving the right way for quickly drawing a blade.
Wrong. Swords were worn blade-down or "tachi-style" (as in tachi, the sword that predated the katana) in the Sengoku period for draw while on horseback. When on foot, most samurai wore their sword blade-up. Katanas are not meant to be drawn the same way as European swords.
did you study the blade
>mfw asshurt false flagging consolefags
>mfw idort
Yeah while I was at parties fingerbanging
No, I've just watched enough sengoku and chanbara movies to know the purpose of katana blade orientation.
Others have done it. You can do it too, user. If you persevere, you will.
Imagine being this bad.
Move out to the back yard retard. Why would you fight in there?

Thats neet. Its the little things
got hit once, total failure if you play on higher difficulties
What weapons should i use for my first run?
wtf? I beat this boss first try using mouse+keyboard, what the fuck is your problem
Are there any anti-cheat measures in the game? I want to play on PC but losing my progress from doing everything on PS4 is... less than appealing.
For the record literally all I want to do is just get the amrita to level up and get to higher difficulties faster, I don't give a shit if there are other cheats.
>The nioh community
Which community? Nioh flew quite low on the radars
i beat your mom with my keyboard
It flew under YOUR radar. We always had great threads on here and /vg/ especially those first few months. That shit was beautiful.
What should I do with all the pointless weapons and armor I don't want to use? Just sell them at the shrines?
Also this game is much harder than any soulsborne. Maybe it's just because I haven't yet memorized when I should ki pulse with all the weapons.
>regular mobs need 3 hits total to evaporate you
>you need 5 with the strongest/heaviest weapons
I mean I'm still in the learning process but for now Odachi seems extra useless among heavy weapons. Please tell me it gets better.
how do you beat the chain ball boss? I can't dodge his AOE without taking damage anyway, do dodges not have iFrames in this game?
break it down into mats for upgrading/forging
Not gonna pretend I know anything about weak points n shit. I just hit-n-run until I broke its chains then after 3-4 more hits popped living weapon and mashed until dead.
they have really small iframes, you could just sprint away from his highly telegraphed swing
If you can't dodge it, block it.
For white and yellow, go to a shrine and turn them in for amrita - you'll get elixers some elixers as a bonus more often than not. For anything above, go breakdown for material with the forge chick.
Keep your distance or block nigga
miss u every day alpha
Glad I ain't the only one.
This isn't Dark Souls you babby, learn new game mechanics. Block that shit.
I keep telling myself this isn't true after DS2 but god damn it is always true
you find a few diamonds in the rough when comparing consoles to PC in terms of community
>using my webm without even giving it the same name
That was intentional. I could have released Iai at the beginning but I knew I'd survive the hit if I went all the way.
Don't forget Metal Gear Rising. This shit happens every time
just use a magic katakana for the rest of the game and ignore anything else
You're not using stances right or a current weapon or something because you should be doing even more damage than that, and 5 hits still is a ton of damage with the kind of game this is, but it's how they ended up "balancing" it.
PC is literally where the western art of casual antigaming got its start. It only makes sense a mistard wouldn't be able to play a proper video game from Glorious Nippon.
Keep seeing block being mentioned as a legit approach. Why? You can block everything? The point where you block a blockstring or a heavy hit and are left with a sliver of stamina/ki or leaves you with 0 and vulnerable tells me otherwise so far. Genuinely curious, still learning.
never mind took off all my heavy armour and he never touched me, why do slant eyes love ninja faggot shit so much? I just wanna play a tank
Don't really see a way to upgrade to a better Odachi atm since I'm in the middle of the mountain caves and the current one dropped, blue even. Should I just fuck off, go back to the blacksmith to upgrade and start over?
The best DPS I can get atm is high stance 2 lights into backstep and 2 lights again. At least I think. When it comes to more than 1 enemy everything seems to fall apart even though I'm supposed to have ground control with this wep on middle stance.
This game feels really boring compared to Dark Souls the setting is just kinda bland and there's no atmosphere.
Since the demo I was using Katanas then I tried a bit of a Windstorm Dual build and Blade spin Kusa build and always went back to Katanas. I switched to Odachi soon after they got released and have been wrecking things since then. To be fair I started using Odachi in Way of the Demon so I already had a build going compared to starting using them with the crap gear I had in Way of the Samurai.
>real life historical settings are actually boring and not at all mysterious and atmospheric like muh fiction setting games
Who woulda thunk it?
Are you wearing light armour or something? Even if you are you're still able to block a few attacks and dodge the rest, while heavy armour lets you block tons of hits. You can block a lot of things but some situations you have to block, like after getting hit, and some things are just much easier to block than dodge. Using both where applicable is the best way to proceed.
You can if you git gud and learn that timing and positioning is even now still important as well as what your options are.
Why is it always the tank wannabes that are like this? It was the same back in the day with people complaining about having to actually learn timing with the axe.
I'm glad you agree.
>never mind took off all my heavy armour and he never touched me, why do slant eyes love ninja faggot shit so much? I just wanna play a tank
Going ninja is arguably best for some bosses, but tank is DS1 tier in Nioh, with enough Toughness you can power through almost anything in the game.
They always do, but hey they can put 4k elf porn mods on skyrim so that somehow excuses them every time.
There's literally nothing fucking stopping you from throwing on the heaviest armour you can get and tanking the shit out of everything. Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's not possible.
I can't imagine being a tank would be at all feasible in this game. Maybe Obsidion armor iirc but you're basically encouraged to be a light weight armor which gives you much more stamina that you'll need for bosses.
It's more about the music and the art style/graphics the make the atmosphere though. Compare anything from Nioh with your first time hearing that firelink shrine music and it just falls flat.
what do i have to do to get a good tank build? I seem to get gaurd broken right away testicle chan ball man, me want zug zug smash
this, the boss was hard as fuck until I fought him fucking naked, then he was a pushover
odachi is pretty stronk man, just use a high stance heavy attack -> ki burst/dodge ->heavy attack -> etc
unless you can ki break something then you use the high stance light attack x2 etc
also what can help is some onmyo magic, the one that weakens an enemy's defence and one which powers you up + a water weapon buff
The problem with this and Nioh is the fact that it's in the middle/end of warring states period which isn't exactly the most comfy/peaceful time thereby making the use of their peaceful music ill-fitting.
You've already been told. Throw on all the heavy armour you can get. Stack as much Toughness stat as you can. Congrats, you can now block almost everything without worrying.
Nah, what you have should be fine, I assume you meant something that's actually bigger by the standard, and you haven't built up familiarity yet so it'll get stronger. Enemies do high damage but so do you especially when hitting from behind, you just have to be cautious and get used to how your weapon works. High stance is always the most damage while low is the fastest, you gotta practice switching between stances depending on the situation. Mid stance tends to work well against groups, but be aware of how fast you can move and dodge out of things, the more you get used to it, the more you can commit without actually committing.
it's different when you have the skills. At that point you can combo literally anything into the High Strong attack, and you get some really good moves.
so toughness is poise? or are there small differences?
uhmmm.. nani? literally beat it in 6 or 7 tries and I'm usually bad at souls games, just learn the patterns you turd
block it or run. you can dodge it, too. if you get up close to his swinging arm its pretty easy to dodge. also you can just run around him
Is CE safe to use for minor editing? I just want glory for the female transforms
put on all heavy armor for high toughness
use Fuse-Ushi bull spirit for that 20% guard ki reduction, Kara-jishi if you're near the end.
have mid guard ki reduction on your weapon
you will be able to block forever.
last part is important. Mid stance guard costs significantly less ki. You should only be blocking in mid. buffing your guard across all stances is useless when buffing a single stance gets you a larger buff.
>CE
Kill thineself
I'm personally waiting for the first wave of PC players to hit WotW/WotN and complain about everything one shotting them with absolutely no investment into defence.
Hey man I already grinded this shit on PS4, I just want to play as waifu's and they cost 70k glory
Essentially, along with making your guard stronger. Heavy armour also has higher damage reduction %.
It is up to a point. Something like the balls will still stagger you.
The real advantage is it reduces the ki cost of guarding.
Super armor is more of a moveset dependent thing. Odachi, Axe, and Tonfa provide you lots of super armor moves. Tonfa is certain combo skills, Odachi and Axe will let you tank through shit while you do the high strong attacks.
wait until you get to this bitch, baka gaijin
they changed that boss since the first console release, he is a lot more agressive now. try to stay behind him and only go for hit if he is down. cant really explain but only you figure him out its easy
The fact that you don't have a billion iframes on your dodges already makes Nioh a thousand times better than souls.
>Mid stance guard costs significantly less ki.
I remember a long time ago this was always just a false rumour, but did they actually change it to be true, like how wind's effect became different in release? Mid stance's affinity with blocking before was mainly due to Ki still recovering while you blocked and moved at once, along with getting most of the defensive skills.
pretty sure it was always true, but I kinda stopped playing in march and didn't really get into playing it a lot until the 2nd DLC was out. They may have patched it this summer.
I would say it definitely costs less, but it might only be noticeable if you're stacking buffs like that. I almost never block on light armor builds.

How do you people consistently fall for such obvious false flagging? Just look at the image mate, as if the text in the post wasn't a strong enough sign.

Complete apathy?
What in the fuck is this meme? What the fuck are you supposed to feel hearing the firelink shrine music? Fucking DaS1 bandwagon memesters...
