I'm not even out of Jade Forest yet and I'm already at level 90. What the actual fuck is wrong with the leveling system in WoW? Shouldn't I be receiving a less amount of experience if I'm highler level than what the quest calls for?

The way it works is that you gain the level cap for an expac halfway through and the other half you just acquire stuff required for character progression but obviously this retarded approach doesn't work when playing through old expansions. Just spam dungeons 15-100 and start playing the actual quests from the current expac instead.
>skipped the entire expansion because i unsubscribed before release and resubbed in WoD
D-did I miss out on much? People say it was mostly dailies and boring grind but it feels bad still.
>People say it was mostly dailies and boring grind but it feels bad still.
That's pretty much every expansion unless you start at the very end when everything is in catch up mode.
reminder that MoP had 18 months of siege of orgrimmar without no more content
There were shitloads of dailies and they were beyond tedious.
One was fishing.
One was gardening.
Then there was just doing the exact same quest another time.
>tfw got both of them at Exalted for that sweet Kite mount
I have issues.
>Jade Forest
?
Pandaria zones were actually some of my favorite
The dailies were pretty bad but it was the start of the expansion, i'd say around mid to near late it was really great, and then there was over a year of siege of orgrimmar which dragged it down a bit
Throne of Thunder is easily one of my big favorite raids though, and i have a lot of good memories of timeless isle
For what it's worth, 5.2 was the best patch in wow history
id list MOP in my top 3 expacs easily. Underrated desu
They reduced the xp required to level through old expansions. I can't remember when, think it was before WoD's launch.
>a less amount of experience if I'm highler level than what the quest calls for?
Quests and mobs go grey when you're 5 levels higher, in pandaland you're leveling from 85 to 90 so,
Yeah you're supposed to out level old content fast enough so you can do the current content with everyone else, making it an MMO not a SP game.
However I'm glad they're making that new update where you can progressively level on any expansion the same. I think you can just stick to Pandaria and skip Cataclysm.
and then WoD got shitted out somehow
Thanks Overwatch
ah k, found it

>Experience points needed to level up have been normalized. For instance, Level 89 requires 562,000 experience to reach Level 90 instead of 18,370,000.
It's pretty drastic.
They recently said at the blizzcon panel that they'll be extending the level range for zones. You'll be able to level in barrens up to level 50 or something. It'll work similar to how Legion zones work with level scaling. I'm quite looking forward to leveling in stonetalon again as Horde.
Said update should be coming soon, but I don't think I'll be leveling anything until the allied races in the new expac.
is questing through panda land fun Sup Forums? I never played MOP and i just heirloom dungeon level.
It's not bad.
World looks nice, some interesting zones.
Basically the same as any expansion.
The plot in each zone are probably some of the better ones in all WoW but the current leveling speed ruins it. Level scaling will fix it I suppose.
It's kind of crazy how much different it is now. I remember in Vanilla working my way down the west coast of Kalimdor as a nelf and it seemed like it took forever.
The reason is because WoW's focus became the end game rather than everything in before. Normies don't want to have to do everything before to get to the newest content.
Or no one wants to. That would really kill alts.
>Normies don't want to have to do everything before to get to the newest content.
Can't blame them, considering how dead the leveling areas are on most servers.
Nothing wrong with funneling the user base to the latest content. If you spread your players between old content too much, it will be harder to meet people and make it less of an MMO.
